  1. Pressing the deep ball way too much!!!
  2. For the record Torrey is not a natural hands catcher... remember he had to work extremely hard just to get where he's at... he suffered from the dropsies early in his career... and struggled most of last year... he came on strong at the end... but he struggles against press coverage and wasn't as polished running all routes... but the young man can definitely stretch the field... I think Givens will be solid for the Black and Purple... it comes down to Joe... he's played well considering that he's had a revolving door with his offensive line and wide outs...
  3. Correction T. Smith was brought in the to replace D Mason... to add a speed element to the roster... and he by no means was a better receiver than D Mason
  4. @Trevorsteadmon... wasn't sugar coating anything... just saying Givens adds another dimension to the offense... just like when T. Smith took over for Derrick Mason... not that he was a better receiver than D. Mason but he and Boldin were the same type of receiver and T. Smith added another dimension... a speed element to the offense... this is along the same line...
  5. @Drew P... I have been saying that all season... Marlon has been a decoy most of the season he runs clear out routes and check downs... and the times he's open... Flacco is off target... has he dropped passes... yes he has... but he also run blocks extremely well... he operates better out of the slot but that was reserved SSS... I really like the guy... and hopes he does really well... plus I think people are reading to much into Givens getting the start...Kamar and Marlon are similar in terms of speed... Givens adds a down field big play element which may keep defenses from putting 8 and 9 in the box... which will help in the run game...
  6. @Jim Giampaoli... Jags have an above average front seven... what kills their defense it the offense hangs them out to dry... by not holding the ball long enough to allow the defense to rest... the defense is very stout against the run... they play the Panthers tough... bout wore down... so to think you are going to just do what you want against these guys is just laughable... this game is going to be a dog fight all the way...
  7. @Trevorsteadman.... in regards to the running back position.. Ravens have 5 young backs on the roster... as for the WR... a vet is needed... lots of young talent on the roster already... If Camp can stay healthy he's a play maker... real promising TE group... Juice is a beast... wish they could figure out a way to use him more than play action or full back screens... so the Ravens have weapons... just been tough to get the desired balance of run and pass...
  8. @PalmBayRaven... not sure if you are aware but as the college game evolves and most programs move further and further away from pro-style offenses and defenses it makes it more difficult to evaluate players.. and on top of that the chance to develop players has take a turn for the worst with the collective bargaining agreement which cuts down the number of practices and practice hours... its not just the Ravens... its league wide... so to try and point a finger and say its because of John is laughable... I can't believe it... one losing season and people are forgetting all the good that John has done... every year the Ravens are in the thick of things... no one is immune from having a bad year... please tell me a team that knocks their draft out of the park every year??? And the second thing is its hard on you every year drafting near the bottom of the draft every year... New England builds their team through Free agents... how many WR have the drafted that's still on their team???
  9. Really like Pitta too... sorry to hear that he won't play this season... but I thought he should have sat out the 2012... he came back to soon... and no reason to come back this season.. the injury bug has hit the Ravens hard this year... two torn biceps... two torn Achilles tendons... hamstrings... knee injuries.. back injury... shoulder injuries... smh... its crazy...
  10. Sad to say...this game is all about what you can do for me... Hardy still has room to improve and produce stats on the field... Rice is considered to be on the decline and isn't worth the head ache or distraction... what's really sad is that Ray who made one bad decision under the influence hit his wife (which doesn't excuse him at all)... Hardy has shown a history and a propensity to respond with aggression but he gets redemption?? I think it's really sad how greed has the Cowboys selling their morals... guaranteed if Hardy had put his hands on Jerry's daughter it would be a different story... he wouldn't be as forgiven... until fans stand up and refuse to buy tickets as long as he's on the team... nothing will ever change... However Karma is the great equalizer... since he's been allowed to play... they haven't been able to win a game...
  11. As much as you try to put the burden on the offense.. its not their fault... there are only to games where the offense failed to put up 20 points... against the Broncos and Cards... every other time we have scored enough points to win... other than the Broncos and Cards... the defense has let us down... so forget about the balance argument.. and concentrate more on the defense ability to get off the field on third down... we are near 50% conversion rate... I am tired of seeing DB's play 10 yds of on 3 and 5... and giving up underneath routes and missing tackles... the things we aren't use to seeing... so until we learn to fix that I don't care who we have on the other side of the ball... it doesn't matter until we sure up the D
  12. Not using the OC as an excuse but facts are facts... why do you think so many young players don't make it on teams that are constantly changing the front office... its a reason why Cincy has come back to being relevant after years of being inept... stability breathes success... Steelers... Patriots... Packers...Sea Hawks... Panthers... all have stuck by the front office... how can you play fast if you are never in the same offense twice? Remember how inconsistent we were till the playoffs? So its just facts... all these guys are young so its hard to expect the same level of consistency that Steve brings... he has defied all odds...
  13. With Steve done for the year... Marlon is now the best run-blocking wide out on the team... Marlon has sacrifice himself and it back fired on him... his growth was stunted by the revolving door that has been the OC... plus Joe locks in on one guy... last year Steve had 79 catches to T Smith 47.... which Kamar was on pace for... so its actually not much difference in production between the two... the major difference between kamar and T Smith is that defenders respect his speed so it forced them to play honest... and we have scored enough points to win games... just the secondary has been so inconsistent...
  14. @TheGreek... we should have picked Steph Diggs in the fourth with the comp pick rather than waste it on a project corner... sorry but the jury is out on Tray.. this upcoming class of Db's aren't bad either... sorry I know you gotta think of the future and all but come on... Diggs is balling right now.. he beats single coverage with route running and has excellent run after the catch...
  15. @TheConquerorWorm... well let me clean up your list a little bit.. Marqise Lee is injury prone... been battling a hamstring since he got in the league... Rueben Randle is also battling a hamstring... Latimer hasn't produced like they hoped (I'm sorry but if you can't produce with Peyton as your QB you are a little suspect in my book) Cordarrelle Patterson is a play-maker... just not as a WR... doesn't run routes very well.. Justin Hunter has potential... not sure about Paul Richardson... watched some highlights of him.. he relied on speed rather than technique in college... he is a hands catcher might be worth a look...
  16. Wow... really??
  17. Bad call again... smh... how is that unnecessary roughness?
  18. Once again refs are terrible .. how was that not a catch by Crock???
  19. Refs suck... bad calls... bad call on that PI
  20. In regards to Trestman... its hard to be you when you are handcuffed to plays that aren't your own... it's Kubiak's system with a few wrinkles... I am sorry but I will never be comfortable wearing someone's else's shoes... so I feel his pain..
  21. Tired of hearing run the ball...run the ball versus the Cards...Its hard to run the ball when they are blitzing the run...Justin ran for negative yards in the second half then we were down by 16 in the fourth... so its hard to run the football under those circumstances...so please stop listening to analyst... formulate opinions for yourself... there's a reason why they went to a pass happy approach...that's not the approach any team wants to take.. last year in the semi-finals no one questioned the Patriots for abandoning the run... if we won against the cards... the story would be the inconsistencies with the run game...you got to be able to adjust your game when one facet of your game struggles..that's what any good team will do.. so please allow these guys to do what they do..
  22. @Ravensfan4life2010... Marlon Brown actually was actually projected by some analysis to have been a mid to late round draft pick if he had not tore his acl his final year of college ball.. and Kamar is actually not bad when in the slot... problem is more of the scheme... I find it as a real disservice to Trestman that he's calling someone else's plays... I think that's where the real problem lies.. let's be honest how comfortable can you really be if you have to drive somewhere using another person's car... even though you know how to drive... you are not sure of how the car will drive... therefore you hesitate when taking sharp turns... I feel Trestman should be able to use his own playbook...
  23. Oh yeah... shout out to Will Hill... he balled out last night... and not sure how Brown caught that pass in double coverage but that was a dime... outside of three or four plays the defense played well... only gave up 280 yds to a high powered passing attack... I think we should let Trestman implement his own playbook... I think its unfair to him to be running Kubiak's offense with a few wrinkles... and for the critics saying we should have ran the ball more in the second half... its kind of hard to do when they are putting extra defenders in the box... the four run plays were for negative yds... I don't think Justin is fully recovered... Canty balled out as well...
  24. Not sure why people are calling for Marlon to be cut... he had one negative play last night... he turned to go up field b4 putting away the ball... other than that he blocked who he was supposed to on run plays... he ran his clear out routes to get Smith open underneath...think he caught 3 of 4 targets... No one talks about Joe constantly under throwing receivers... Chris beats his man deep but has to slow down to adjust to the under thrown ball... if Joe puts it out front like he's supposed to.. that's an easy score.. not mad J Ross either... he had the ball high and tight... the ball was ripped out of his grasp... he wasn't doing n.e thing crazy with the ball... like our season he just caught a bad break...
