  1. If Weddle does in fact signs the deal... what's the likely hood that Wallace signs as well?? And if he doesn't who else is on the market who poses that same deep threat?
  2. Welcome to B'More Mr. E Dub... wonder who moves on at this point? I really like Brooks speed and versatility.. his ability to cover the nickle... but hey... that's not my problem... just know the Defense got that much better...
  3. Any reason why Jeremy Butler wasn't offered a contract??? I thought he was an Exclusive Rights FA? He had a much better season that Daniel Brown and more upside as well in my opinion...
  4. For the record... that same hurt Ben put up almost 400 passing yards on Denver... and Russell had a lot of TD's not passing yards... turn overs is where the reason for our short comings in both those games.. the Chiefs didn't put up much yards... their defense scored two TD's
  5. Wright is the right man for the job... lol... glad to have him back... its good to have some form of continuity with the secondary for a change... and as much as Ramsey would be a consensus pick at number six... I think its a better option to find a LB that can cover... RB's and TE's killed us last year...
  6. The first pick is dependent upon K.O. if he resigns then we go defense if he walks.. we go OT...
  7. As long as we don't go WR on the first pick I am ok with it... I really don't think that was our down fall this season... it was on the defensive side of the ball... so many let downs in the first half of the year where we lead going into the fourth quarter... by 10 points... and still lost was a killer... pass rush is the mainstay... o-line... secondary help... ILB... luv D Smith but he's struggled in coverage... however he's still a force on defense..if I am not mistaken... he lead the team in tackles... on my list of needs WR is at the bottom of the list... do we need one... absolutely... we have a group of possession receivers on the team... Aiken... Butler... Mathews.. D Brown... and Camp ( Not including SSS)... we need a game changer... A guy similar to A. Brown who catches 10 passes a game for 150 yds.. giving defenses fits... we have a promising group of TE's... only problem is Maxx and Crockett play with such a physicality that they are always banged up.. it was hard to do what we envisioned in the latter months of the season with 3 TE sets... but hey I like what these young pieces have shown.. LETS GO RAVENS!!!!
  8. that was a funny tweet... Smith and Quan on the field at the same time...lol equals safeties in the box on every play... lol... blitz every other play... that equals bad football... Steve has functional speed...he's no longer the burner he used to be... Quan has never been a burner.... why would you want that on the field anywhere other than the redzone???
  9. I beg to differ I think the trio of Rice... McGahee... and Ricky Williams was a better trio... Just my opinion of course..
  10. After looking at the Mock draft of PFF... I highly doubt that the Ravens go with Treadwell... I can't see them going WR in the first again with Perriman coming back... Camp coming back... the offense as bad as it looked last season wasn't the reason why we lost games...the defense let us down the first half of the season... then back up QB's hurt us the second part of the season... still had a number 12 offense with all back-ups and no real down the field threat... and though I like Treadwell... I personally field WR is third or even fourth on the list of needs... 1: Pass rush 2: O-line depth 3: Secondary Help* 4: WR 5: ILB In my opinion the secondary will be much improved with a second year under their belt together... I personally like Kendrick and I think he's better than what he's shown... with Webbie moving to the Slot and if Will Davis or even Wright coming back helps the Secondary... I like what I saw of Wright coming down the stretch... plus there is also Nick Perry and a host of other young corners on the roster... and don't forget if Tray shows growth in year 2... so their is potential there... What I do like is the Safety from Boise State... he looked great at the Senior Bowl...
  11. I am sorry but the NFL is becoming water down... I am a firm believer if you don't want your opponents celebrating the End Zone... then its your job to stop me... as long as its not insensitive... I am all for it... I miss the creativity that came from athletes...
  12. I am big on fashion... but am I really that old??? Or did I get kicked off the fashion bus when I turned 34?? When did it become the in thing to wear women pants??? I am sorry but men in capri pants have only been cool when sailing... lol... and guys who wore it just to wear them got their lunch taken... lol... I am all for self expression but I will pass on this trend... I am sorry but close fitting pants (tight) are very feminine to me.. just my opinion of course... Luv Cam...think he's the next best thing since Moon... but no to those pants...
  13. Just hope he isn't going to be like C. Brown... all the tools but no confidence... would panic every time the ball was thrown his way... Fingers crossed on this one...
  14. @Bob21043... Henry is a straight line runner... I see him like a Brandon Jacobs type runner... meaning that he needs a better than average line to be effective... he's not going to make anyone miss... he runs over guys... which works in the college game but in the pro's its the best of the best.. I will say this though... you definitely gonna have to square up and hit him... he breaks a lot of arm tackles...
  15. Love Josh Gordan's talent...but he's needs help... if he hasn't learned from the his previous suspensions prior to his year long suspension for substance abuse... not sure if he'll ever get it... maybe a year away from football is a wake up call... rather see the young man get help even if he plays for the Browns... lol
  16. You guys forget... John only makes suggestions... Ozzie makes roster decisions... so trying to blame the roster on John is laughable... and if you think 2 losing seasons are enough to get rid of John... that's also laughable... you get rid of a head coach when your team doesn't respond to him... players respond to John... and for the team to be competitive with the roster being in shambles... we had a shot in every game except the Seattle game... I am sorry but the game plan for that game was terrible... Give Russell all day to pass knowing your back end is a group of moving parts??? Makes absolutely no sense to me... I understand that you can't blitz to often but come on that was terrible... I agree we need another WR but I think pass rush is the biggest concern... you can hide your secondary if you can get after the passer...
  17. In the Oakland game he had a roughing the passer penalty that continued the drive after the Rookie TE had dropped the pass... which put them into the Red Zone after that they went for for a TD rather than tie... but what cost us the game was the horrible pass interference call on Will Hill who was in the spot prior to contact (which he has the right to occupy that space) and made a play on the ball... so technically it was the officials that cost us that game... Timmy just put us in a bad spot...
  18. Don't really care what they do as long as they make sure that young man returns to Baltimore. He has shown that he can produce once given the opportunity... it was no accident that did what he did... he's been itching for the opportunity to prove himself and he has... 75 catches 900 yds... 5 touch downs.... durable as well... can work the slot or outside the numbers... would luv that production on my team... I do think we could use some speed on the outside but I don't think its necessary... not every team has a burner on the outside.. we just have to be more discipline on offense... penalties killed us this year...
  19. Playing Safety is more of a mental aspect than anything else... you have to recognize route combinations and formations... tendencies... then you gotta make the right checks in coverage to adjust with how the offense is trying to attack the defense... I don't think that Kendrick Lewis was given a fair shot.. his play was up and down yes but a good secondary comes from chemistry... so I feel that he will play much better this year.. I think Elam is gone... and Brooks will see more snaps... I like him in the slot as well..
  20. @WNC-Raven... I agree with your assessment up to a point... When Webb was handed is contract at the time he was on the verge of being a lock down corner... his upside was great... then he got hurt... then hurt again... then again... so at the time I could see why they were locking him up... its not like he was injury prone coming out of college... same thing with Pitta.. the brass had seen life without Pitta and didn't like what they saw... they took the advice of the doctors that Pitta would be good to go and all signs pointed in that direction he end 2013 like a boss and began 2014 as the ultimate security blanket... then boom down he went again... Pitta was just unlucky in that regard the chances of him aggravating his hip injury couldn't be that high... I find it hard to believe that the Ravens have a nice track record of that... that mantra of right player right price has proven true.. Ngata didn't perform to the same level he did last year... neither did T. Smith... McPhee had a solid year but you can't pay everyone... Sometimes the football doesn't bounce your way sometimes... this just happen to be that year for us... no one stays great forever... the difference is good teams find ways to turn it around quickly... I am confident that the Ravens will do what they do best... Pass rush was the biggest reason the defense was struggling... as the year went on the D greatly improved... we need a guy to rush the passer... and the turnover thing was just a lack of focus... there were so many times the ball was thrown right to guys and they just dropped it.. there are six that immediately come to mind... and penalties that extended drives...all the turnovers... smh... don't get me started on that fiasco.... but we weren't as bad as the record indicates... were we SB bound...maybe not but we should have made some noise... even with the all the injuries we gave ourselves a chance to win..but without fail we shot ourselves in the foot... if we can clean some things up... get younger at some positions... I feel we will be right as rain...
  21. Don't forget about Camp and Waller... I know all these guys are hungry to prove that they belong as well...
  22. I wish him the best on his return... Him getting hurt was a blessing in disguise... it would have been terrible to send him off with how disappointing this season has been... plus it gave Aiken room to grow and develop into a legit no. 2 (1B) receiver for us... I don't care what anyone says but he's been the most consistent player we've had this season... he's been balling... If Perriman can give us the T. Smith effect of shifting over the top coverage... it can open up running lanes for Forsett and the young stable of backs... We should use Smith like Arizona uses Fitz.... Though I know Steve won't allow that..lol
  23. Like to shout out all the analyst who said the Ravens didn't shut down AB... that it was Vick who shut him down... All his catches came mostly on quick passes and his lone deep catch was against zone coverage... He hasn't had a touchdown pass in his last three games against the Ravens... I personally wasn't sure if we would win the game... but I knew it was going to be close... proud of the guys for the way they fought and played winning football for the first time in sometime... we will see if the Bengals have n.e. thing to play for come Sunday... they might rest some guys...
  24. I doubt Urban walks in two years... in that time span... Suggs and Doom should be off the books... then it comes down to who is more dominant by that time... Timmy or Brent you can't keep everyone... I like JB...been his #1 supporter since we signed him as a rookie free agent.. loved what I saw of him in College... nice hands and runs hard after the catch... stays steady.. doesn't show much emotion... even after a big play he gets up dusts himself off like he was supposed to make that play... really like him and Kamar...
  25. I am tired of reading about draft picks being bust... look drafting is not an exact science... you are rolling the dice.. you have to hope that the individual is playing for the love of the game and not a payday.. then its if the individual fits what you need them to do and be for your team... this years draft proves it mightily... after all the hype of this year's wideout draft potentially rivaling last years draft... it has been anti-climatic to say the least...Cooper is the only rookie wideout with 1000yds receiving and then after him its Steph Diggs (4th round)... Dorial Green-Beckham (2nd round)... Then Funchess (2nd)... no other rookie wideout has made much noise... so are all these guys busts??? Its way to early to tell... some guys get it quickly others need time to develop... so I am not putting labels on a guy who hasn't put forth a body of work... Camp..Butler.. Waller... Aiken... Perriman... and one more deep threat... Many may not agree but I think Kamar has put together a good enough body of work that he should be a building block moving forward... what we need is O-line depth... secondary help which may already be on the roster... we had some nice young talent get hurt early in the season.. Julian Wilson... and Will Davis... then there is "developmental corners in Walker and Perry... I wouldn't be mad if we roll the dice on the Florida State DB... he has the swagger that you look for in a corner... and he's physical at the line of scrimmage... and more importantly a rush LB is higher on the priority list than wideout... in my opinion..
