  1. Think better, do better.
  2. The NFL protects it product, wink, we get it. However, there are 14 more games to play with room for three more losses to extend the season. Hopefully, the Ravens offensive coordinator will run a two-back set for pass protection as effectively demonstrated by Oakland. Hopefully, the Ravens defensive coordinator will blitz more creatively. One can only say "Next game" for so long, before it becomes "Next Season!"
  3. Ravens need to go to a two running back backfield formation. This will enable Joe an extra count or two to throw the football and the benefit of a lead blocker for runs. Expect to see short quick passes to wide outs and backs, and block and catch patterns from the TEs. Baltimore brings home its Bravado. Get the football, keep the football!
  4. Be "Ravens Ready" every play and the game will evolve nicely.
  5. Trestman: You saw the results with high pressure on Joe in the Denver game. It is time to adjust the backfield formation to a two RB formation - they will allow Joe at least another count to make a pass. Once the O-line improves their technique, then maybe return to a one back or empty backfield. Going forward the Ravens need to protect their quarterback. The two best blocking RBs get to take the field. Keep it simple.
  6. Suggs: Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Your Raven leadership will continue!
  7. John: Your projected 53-Man Roster looks good. The coaches may consider the following alternatives: Jeremy Butler for Michael Campanaro (if not at the start of the season, then immediately if Campanaro or another Ravens' receiver is injured); Fitzgerald Toussaint for Lorenzo Taliaferro (at least for the first three games while Taliaferro or if another Ravens' running back or special teams/returner is injured); and lastly, find another one to two veteran Dbs. The Ravens must have fresh Db legs and solid play from their Dbs for sixteen games plus the playoffs. Five Dbs is not enough given the propensity to throw often on the Ravens' defense. Otherwise, I think you've nailed the 53-Man roster.
  8. Joe is John Unitas and Cal Ripken wrapped in one. Calm, cool, and collective is his hallmark on and off the field.
  9. Crockett is smart for first catching and securing the football. He is a game changer!
  10. Smith: One lesson in life you have not learned - even when you are in the right, you can be wronged. Keep your cool and focus because you are a part of the team that has a collective goal to make it to and win the Super Bowl.
  11. Preseason determines who gets to play on varsity - "The List" will be posted very soon. The List will include Fitzgerald Toussaint multipurpose running back, special teams, and most importantly the varsity kick-off and punt returner. The Ravens did the right thing testing out others in preseason, but when it counts: Toussaint is their man! Ravens are not fooling around during the regular season, they know Toussaint does it all.
  12. Eisenberg: Girl Scout mothers worry about camp-outs. Let's not walk on eggshells, this is the NFL. Players understand the risks associated with this intense game. Playing less than full throttle is an invitation to injury. The Ravens must bring their A-game without a single thought of "What if I get hurt?" Get the football, keep the football!
  13. Aiken Making Bacon! He knows exactly how to time a break away from the defender and into the football. Aiken is a bold and powerful receiver that has the potential to lead the Ravens in all receiving categories. He wants the football more than anyone in the stadium. Get it to him and good things happen.
  14. Relax, Perriman will return appropriately.
  15. Hill: You've earned my salute. Lead the team in interceptions this year and I will have you over for dinner. Make no mistake about it - you are a Raven. Keep up the solid defense and communication with the Dbs. Get the football, keep the football!
  16. Suggs: play clean and mean. You have a profound ability to lead this team on and off the field. The Super Bowl march is to your cadence - be the model Raven - all eyes are on you.
  17. Preseason is about refinement of every aspect of the game. Expect adjustments in personnel by first regular season game.
  18. No worries, with a balanced offensive attack, the long ball will find its way into several Ravens hands.
  19. Joe: at 120M the word "disappointed" shouldn't be in your vocabulary. Focus on one game at a time and refining the execution of each and every play. Stop running the ball in preseason - this is an opportunity to work on throwing the ball out of bounds. Preseason means very little. Do you remember the hit you took in the Super Bowl on your sidelines? I was at the game when you got up. That single play showed the fire in your gut to suck it up and maintain the focus for the next play. We need you NOT to run in preseason, save it for the big games.
  20. The biggest concern is not Webb. Webb will find a way to play. The Ravens biggest concern is Dean Pees. He is not calling defensive sets that challenge the opponents' receivers as demonstrated in last year's New England game and thus far in preseason. This week the Dbs will get a chance to shine, but only if the coach calls the right coverage, not 10 yards off the receiver! Pees needs a phone call on tight coverage defensive sets.
  21. A Sixth Thought vs Eagles: take two aspirin and call me in the morning.
  22. Joe will have a better day passing against the Washington football team.
  23. Good problem to have at WR, but with roster limits, Campanaro might get edged out. Good luck to all players in tight competition that is too close to call. Injuries may be the deciding factor in the end.
  24. With only four days to the Ravens first preseason game, the clock is counting down, but the Ravens will be ready to set the tone for the season. The coaching staff will focus particularly on the Dbs and O-line. Ravens will not be doing anything fancy on either side of the line of scrimmage, but that will not preclude outstanding straight-up, smart power football. Make no mistake about it, roster positions are on the table. Expect the Ravens' fever to spread as they continue to tune-up for the regular season. The Ravens' SB mission message is clear: Focused execution every play, every day! Get the football, Keep the football.
