  1. Coach Harbaugh: the NFL needs to update its offsetting penalty problem immediately where a major penalty like personal foul (15 yards) versus a minor penalty like encroachment (5 yards) results in the play nullification (no penalty assessment). One of the best ways to handle offsetting penalties is to assess the higher yardage penalty first, then assess the lesser penalty. It is not fair that a shot to the quarterback's head (normally 15 yards) be nullified by minor infractions like illegal motion or failure to pass the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. The NFL offsetting penalty problem needs correction now.
  2. Ryan Mallett is a good Ravens' second-team quarterback; however Josh Johnson is the better choice. Johnson is poised and efficient and keeps the offensive tempo moving with his arm and legs. Johnson is clearly the go-to backup quarterback to Joe and wouldn't miss a beat if Joe is injured.
  3. The Ravens are tactfully brewing a storm. The defense is attacking the football with the intent of owning the football, while the offensive line is executing power blocking football for ground scorching gains and enabling time for pass-catch finesse through the air. Undeniable Raven reverberations started in spring training and have intensified through three preseason games providing solid evidence the staid Ravens management and players are taking care of business one game at a time.
  4. Harbs: spot on! Please get the new kick-off fixed as well.
  5. Without a quarterback, you're running on empty. Dallas needs to secure a quarterback (or two) given the recent injury to Romo.
  6. Dixon is a hard-nosed explosive runner, he will be back.
  7. Suggest trading Mallet to Dallas for premier defensive player - DB or rusher. Ravens are moving closer to having a complete team, but still need help at DBs and Rushers.
  8. Kudos to all players trying out for the Ravens in 2016. The focused energy level has been high from training camp to present. The Ravens management is hard pressed to cut any of the Ravens players, but is required to do so shortly. The nature of this grueling sport is strength and speed, but time wears a way at these required attributes; only the healthy remain viable through a gauntlet of enduring physical and mental tests called preseason. As the Ravens players don their pads, jersey, pants, helmet and shoes for some players’ young and veteran, it will be their last time. A final salute to those players departing and may they be assured the Ravens roster cuts run deep with fellow players, team management, and Ravens fans.
  9. Perriman: take page from Joe's book. Come to work early, work hard in practice, and study film. Let your actions do all the talking.
  10. Dumervil and Suggs - are they really back? Expect to see all healthy players on the field this Saturday or the Ravens must move forward with replacements.
  11. Josh Johnson made a better case for STARTING for several other teams! Worth trading Johnson for veteran defensive back or pass rusher rather than being on practice squad.
  12. Never ignore the bottom line: great teams find a way to win.
  13. Suggs and Dumervil will face younger speed and greater strength by opponents. The Ravens are rebuilding their defense, albeit slowly. Do not be bamboozled by the headlines, rather mark the yardage lines the defense yields.
  14. Michael Phelps deserves a statue erected at the Inner Harbor, between the two pavilions. The world stands and salutes Michael Phelps; let's celebrate him in a first class way. Baltimore will be a better place with Michael Phelps in the heart of downtown, where people will come year round to celebrate. Baltimore fans may soon begin to chant two letters during the Star Spangled Banner not just "O", but "OP"!
  15. Players we have, playmakers we need.
  16. Ray Rice deserves a second chance, too.
  17. All players are replaceable. Unpleasant as it may be to have hero players too injured to practice, the team must move forward with physically able talented players that earn their opportunity to start as a Raven.
  18. John: THE recipe for success in Baltimore for 2016 is same as it was in 2015 and 2014: faster DB closure. The DBs must close on a two beat, versus the three or four beat they traditionally give receivers.
  19. Some young gifted athletes have had issues. Michael Phelps for one example, had his rough spots, but over time has clearly demonstrated his core values would not be dissuaded. Manziel within the Ravens framework could offer some unique core advantages, too. If not publicly, the Ravens could at least have a private session with Manziel to evaluate him fully.
  20. 9-7 might be good enough for playoffs; 6-2 first half of season and 3-5 second half of season, not bad as the Ravens are still rebuilding. Likely 3rd place finish unless DBs step up their game? A better D coming in 2017-18. Pitt and Cinn are the teams to watch as they have made key personnel changes. Pitt has the best chance to run the table, but never count Cinn out. One of these head coaches will be fired after this season, if their team fails to go deep into the playoffs.
  21. Ravens must maintain a clean product or risk further reduction from prime time entertainment venues. Simply stated: no one wants to watch a team with integrity problems.
  22. Better investment: keep three TEs and get more DBs.
  23. Only the Ravens' DBs know for sure.
  24. Joe: no worries, play your game. Watch Brady's receivers they do three things perfectly: one juke, cut to the ball; or one-two jukes, turn to the ball; receiver runs optional pattern in or out depending on what DB gives him, but the decision is quick. In all circumstances, the receivers are showing their hands to Brady and are ready for the ball. Ravens receiver patterns are traditionally sluggish at best. It is time for quick releases, and then zip the ball deep. All receivers must be ready for the ball, not just the one or two hot receivers. Lastly, slide if you have to run. The Ravens get into the playoffs only if you are healthy. The first half of the season you should be honing your quick releases and reads, you will need this strategy the second half of the season against the best teams in league. Say to your receivers, "Show me your hands and I will show you the football!"
  25. Kamar Aiken is a "must have the ball" player. His personal desire to catch the football is unparalleled. Joe will send missiles to Aiken; many first-downs and touchdowns will be the result this season.
