His job security is hardly defined by how solid HE thinks it is
That said, I don't think he would be on the hot seat... Maybe, if we kept spiralling down... but I don't even think then he'd be fired...
But we don't know what Steve has in his head, do we?
I don't think Harbs should or will be fired, he's a great coach but unfortunately he doesn't know when to cut ties with his coordinator's.. Maybe we can get lucky enough our players stand up like the Dolphins Defense did and force Pees to step down ![]()
Let's make things clear - when you pay what we pay for PSLs and season tickets, you demand - yes, demand excellence and success. We have not gotten that in two of the last three years following Super Bowl 47. The rebuilding effort has not been successful. Draft picks have been anywhere from mediocre (Mosely) to failures (Elam, Perriman). Poor decisions, such as the kneejerk reaction to cut Ray Rice (Let me state I do not condone his behavior towards his wife) when he may have had some use left, which has now cost us significant cap space the past two seasons, have crippled us. We are a losing team now, and significant changes need to be made in on the roster and in the coaching staff. We should be excellent every year - we certainly have the resources and fan base to justify it. Don't talk to be about "rebuilding" - there is a team in Boston, MA, that seems to be excellent every year - we need to right this now. I, and the entire fan base, will not tolerate this type of losing football any longer. Get it straight now, or start making changes on the roster, the coaching staff, and, yes even the front office. They are all responsible, and should all be held accountable.
Let's make this clear... Every team that doesn't cheat (that team your talking about in Boston) goes through losing years. We have been very lucky as a fan base that we have had tremendous success and out right spoiled. Sure I'm pissed as much as the next fan but calling Mosley mediocre is just nonsense. Yeah we could draft better with certain picks but not every pick for every team works out. Perriman should and could miss the entire year but that doesn't mean he won't come back next year and dominate like we all thought he would when he got drafted. Besides Amari Cooper not a single WR is putting up numbers this year for their team. I think I speak for most of the fans when I say, Yeah this season is definitely not what we wanted it to be like and yeah it would be awesome to be 6-0 right now but at least we beat the Steelers and have some promising looking young players on the team.
I love Harbs but he is way too comfortable knowing that his job is not on the line no matter how bad the Ravens do this year.. Something needs to change with this team but unfortunately it's not going too..
I will be a Ravens fan until the day I die, but damn they piss me off sometimes.
At 1-5 even the players know its a lost season which really sucks because we have players on this team that deserve better..
It would only be right for Ozzie and Harbs to trade Smitty to a team that he actually has a chance to win a ring on, he is the True definition of a Warrior.
5 Thoughts we are all thinking..
1) When are we firing Pees?
2) Are we ever going to see Perriman?
3) What's the update on Pitta coming off PUP?
4) Who are we selecting with the #1 Overall pick next year?
5) Is there anyway we can bribe Smitty to come back another year..
I wish we could get Lawerence Okoye from the Cardinals practice squad 6'6 304 lbs of solid muscle, he was a discus star so he has great feet and probably a great spin move also. Yeah he is Raw but teaming him up with Za'Darius for the future is a great idea. Sign him to the active roster and have him slowly work into the system. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
I'm actually excited for the Ravens to be able to pick so high in the draft. Yeah it means we have a losing season but it also means we are getting some of the best players in the draft. I would love to see us trade away one out our 4th round picks to double dip in the first round. I just feel bad for Smitty, he deserves a ring and he won't get it this year with us..
Sad to say that I'm actually starting Kaepernick this week on my fantasy football team just because of Torrey Smith and Boldin. They know our team better than anyone we face and will make Pees look even more amature than he already is.. It's going to be a great game and hopefully we actually show up, because the Niners are..
So how about switching to a 4-3 Defense next year? It's sad we are not getting rid of Pees any earlier than that, especially when we have his perfect repleacement on the team already.. Defensive Line coach, I can't think of his name right now but he has been with the team since before Harbs and has the love and respect of the players.. Something our current DC does not have.. Fire Pees now and promote him at least until the end of the season.
who do we promote when we fire Pees later today?
I would love if it was our Defensive Line coach.. He has been with the team longer than anyone else including Harbs himself. He deserves the chance to show what he can do for our Defense.
Jernigan has the potiental to be outright scary and dominate the offensive line like Brandon Williams. The only problem is Jernigan shows his immaturity at times and cost the team. It's a long season and by the end of it I'm excited to see how all of our young talented Defensive lineman are playing. We have a very bright future on the defensive side of the ball..
Flacco doesn't need more or better WRs, look at Andrew Luck. He has great WRs but just like our team his offensive line cannot protect him longer than 2 seconds before the pressure is in his face. Let's hope Monroe can change that this weekend.
The Patriots are the #1 team that's hoping we stay dead.. No way do they wanna meet us in the playoffs this year, I have faith and still strongly believe our boys are making it to the playoffs this year.
Sorry but this week against the Browns without Smitty is a perfect time to wear them. Let's play lights out and dominate the Browns gaining momentum before going out west again.
I would have saved the black on blacks for that home monday nighter against the Seahawks imo
Unless we get more help at the WR position I don't see us beating the Cardinals. In my honest opinion if they don't get Flacco some help at that position before the trade deadline they are not worried about this season. I love our guys but they are not a good enough group to win us a SuperBowl this year.
I would love to wake up in the morning and see Ravens traded undisclosed draft pick to the Chicago Bears for Ashon Jeffery.. We really need someone to take the heat off Flacco and stretch the field..
Mitchell just unleashed the beast next time we play each other.. Oh which happens to be Smitty's last regular season game of his great career. I am going to love the fact that we will be beating the Steelers twice to get into the playoffs this year.
I understand everyone getting mad that Breshard hasn't played yet and calling him a bust. What we really need to realise that it just might not be our year. I love our team and will scream at the TV just as loud every week win or lose, but it just seems like we are ment to lose. I think it will do the team some good, we need to fire both coordinators and last time we drafted so high we got CJ. This time we need a true lockdown corner, someone that can at least slow down AJ and AB. Waller, Perriman and Camp will be the future of our WR corps and we all know we are set at TE. Win or lose I'm excited for the future of this franchise.
It's sad we won't be able to send Steve Smith and perhaps Suggs out with a ring this year. Hell the way we are playing we will be looking at a top 10 pick next year. I have no faith in our coordinators and I don't know if it was just me or did anyone else notice Flacco lacked the touch on his deep throws. We need to make a move and add a playmaker to this team because we are lacking on both sides of the ball.
Umm yeah since Suggs is done for the year I certainly hope Babin does better...
Babin will be more productive than Suggs, this season.
I would rather not hear about Breshard than hearing he is still injured. I really wish we would trade for a true #1 WR.
I would love if we traded the Vikings for Cordell Patterson. For some reason he can't gel with Bridgewater and would solve two major problems we have. Arthur Brown and a 3rd round pick seems about right. We would have a very bright future with Perriman, Patterson and Darren Waller. All lightning fast and have the size to dominate 1 on 1 coverage.
The best part is they will only get better as the season goes on and our Defense has a chance to gel together. This is our warm up game before 3 very hard but winnable games coming up. I can't wait until everyone notices how dominate of a secondary we have and realises that the Seahawks have nothing on the Ravens. Yeah losing Suggs hurts a lot but if any team can overcome the injuries and obstacles its our Ravens.
Babin is a great addition to the team and will end up helping us into the playoffs. Upshaw will take over Suggs spot and we will rotate out Doom, Babin and our rookie. I am actually thankful that we still have Upshaw because he has always been my favorite Defensive player on our team. He will shine in the opportunity that has been given to him. Unfortunately that means we won't be able to resign him next year because he will be getting a huge contract somewhere else.

How can Albert McClellans performance not be on this list? His first game as OLB and he did great, almost came up with an early INT when he read the eyes of Kaepernick and jumped up to grab it and as you can clearly see in the replay of Williams blowing up the Hyde run it was actually McClellan that blew Vernon Davis back into Hyde forcing him up instead of where the play originally was going. Hopefully he gets more playing time going forward and has a chance to shine.
