I can almost guarantee that we will trade back and add at least another 3rd round pick. We still have something like 20 roster spots left on the team and with only 7 draft picks so far it looks like a lot of undrafted players will get the chance to prove themselves.
15 minutes ago, PurpleHorseman said:Decosta is delusional. Wagner I liked and was a good pick. But he is not better than Lane Johnson. And Eric Fisher plays left tackle. Decosta must feel pressure if he is always trying to deceive with illusions his draft success.
Saying that he has a 64% success in round2. A player being a starter is not indicative of a successful pick. It means that player is your best option for that position. It doesn't indicate you have a standout player. Calling Cody a somewhat success shows his delusional thinking. Jernigan wasn't a successful pick if you shipped him off to move up in round3. Then there is Max Williams and Correa that are busts thus far. I know everybody is going to say Correa is only going into year2. If you think he shows NFL skills I don't know what to say. He is totally awful.
Usually TE's take a year or two to actually contribute in the NFL unless they are a top 15 pick like Howard will be. He was a little small to be playing in our division and I am still holding out hope that he will be a valuable player for us. Correa I knew wouldn't make it at OLB but I do believe he will step up and start next to CJ this year. He landed in Harbs dog house after his fight with Pitta but I think he will get another chance to prove himself and in the limited amount of action he did play he wasn't that bad at all. Nobody knew Orr was going to have a breakout season and that's part of the reason why we didn't have to play him and trying him out at different positions.

Corey Davis, Mike Williams, OJ Howard, then John Ross. I cannot see a #4 man on the position list being selected when the likes of top Edge and CB even RB may be there at 16.
Edge- Garrett -THomas- Barnett- Allen- Charlton all have position in the top 20
OL- Ramczyk is worth a look
CB/S- Lattimore, Adams, Hooker, Humphry, Wilson, Peppers, Conley top 20
the long shot- RB- Fournette and lastly Dalvin Cook,
Now I didnt put in the 2 QB's that look to go early, so there could be 2 more wild cards.
I would put Roddddddddwess somewhere at the end of that pack. Someone is going to be there.it could be Ross, Charlton, Conley, Ram and Cook out of those who do you pick?
I think I would take Dalvin Cook, my order is Cook, Ram, Ross, Conley Charlton at that point
I really like Barnett, Humphrey or Williams but I see them as real long shots.
I would love Taco Charlton but I don't think he will make it past the Saints. I have a feeling we will trade back and add another pick because it is such a deep draft and Ozzie loves having more picks.

In a way I agree 100% but its also falls on our coaching staff to put the players in the best position to win. I can honestly say looking back at last year that it was the coaches that let us down and not the players.

I believe between him and Patrick we will be just fine and not have to waste money or a pick on ILB this year. I just hope that they stop trying to slide KC out and let him stay inside, when we drafted him I knew immediately he would fail if they put him at OLB. I dont know if its Pees or Harbs but they have been doing a horrible job with switching guys around so much trying to make them learn everything instead of just letting them do what they have been doing all their life.

Concidering how bad the Oline is in this draft if we really want someone to improve our line it will have to come with our 1st or 2nd pick. I would love Taco Charlton with our 1st pick so that will leave Dan Feeney with our 2nd pick and he will play Center. That makes RT our only weakness on our line and I have faith we can find someone to step up for that position, either someone already on the roster or a cheap vet pick up after the draft. We learned last year with Zuttah that if the middle of your line is weak then your entire line falls apart. We can always put Crockett on the right side to help with the RT if needed. I just dont want to put our faith in a 3rd day player that will be playing the hardest postion of the line in a hard hitting run first division.

Anything less than 2nd round doesn't make sense for us, and I'm not so sure our FO is ready to admit they won't be able to afford him next year. Besides, he's gonna be a beast this year on a rookie contract.
I think your overvaluing him with a 2nd round pick, we will be lucky to get a 3rd for him since you can get Sheldon Richardson for a 4th. I wouldnt mind keeping him to play out this contract year knowing he will give 100% but no way do i see us paying him next year. We have a lot of depth on the Dline and will be adding another guy in the draft.

Despite high level of play Peppers seems to have mastered none of his positions and I think he needs to be taught the finer points of every position they expect him to touch. He''s no Deone Bucannon. McCaffery on the other hand is a ready made Pro who is a polished runner and an accomplished receiver. He IS closer to Julian Edelman and he would be an immediate contributor all over the offense.
Peppers will have a hands down better career than Bucannon, I would love to have him on our team not only for the return game but he can easily learn behind Weddle for a year or two before taking over and being the leader in the secondary.
2 hours ago, ellicottraven said:None of the above. Barnett is the only one I would take at 16. The only other LBer I would consider in the first would be Rueben Foster but I doubt he gets to us. I think here's a list of players I wouldn't mind taking in the first.
CBs: Lattimore, Humphrey (Humphrey possible)
Safety: Jamal Adams or Malik Hooker (both doubtful)
RBs: Fournette, Cook or McCafferty ( I think we may have a chance at Cook or McCafferty)
WRs: Any of the top 3 - Williams, Davis or Ross (reluctantly)
OT: Cam Robinson or Ramszcysk.
I believe we'll surprise everybody by taking somebody we haven't thought about in the first that'll shock us first, intrigue us next and make us giddy with joy last.
Im thinking it will be Hasson Reddick or Adoree Jackson as the dark horses. I would love Taco if he is still sitting there, he is just scratching the surface of his potential and would start opposite of Sizzle this year.
Could there really be a chance we get him in the 3rd round? That'd be dope. I feel like we'd have to trade up to get him at that point though. Man this is a really good draft, immediate starter potential into day 3. Crazy.
No way do I see him making it past the 2nd round, I could the the Browns drafting him in the top of that round and if not the Niners need all the help they can get.
7 hours ago, mendii said:I'm pulling for you to be right, 1000 yds and 10 TDs is a tall order. I am a UCF alumni, so immediately I am a huge Perriman fan and I will be as long as he is here. But this WR class has some guys in the first 2 rounds that would be great additions for us. I wouldn't want us to pick up John Ross round 1, but I'd love to get Williams or Davis. If we go after a guy in round 2 I say it's Zay Jones or bust.
For some reason I don't see Williams, Davis or Ross being there when we draft. There is a lot of teams lacking WR talent drafting before us and those guys are game changers that will help out any Offense. Don't get me wrong I would love to draft one of them but I think they will be forced to go with a different need, I have a feeling it will be Cam to fill the RT spot.
18 hours ago, Crusader said:Ozzie signs Jimmy to a large contract and then you have to hire a on call replacement. Don't exspect Young to stay when his 4 years are up.
Why is that? Carr signed basically a 1 year deal and if Tavon plays as good as last year then he will most likely be the starter opposite of Jimmy in 2018 if we dont draft a corner high. I think he will do great in the Nickle spot and we run it alot..
2 hours ago, Crusader said:Kamalei Correa and Bronson Kaufusi better show up this year.
I believe Bronson Kaufusi will show up and make an impact in the place of Guy but sadly I think KC is another Arthur Brown. I am not giving up on him and hoping for the best but I just never had high expectations when we drafted him and we all know the talent we passed up on. Im just hoping we dont make that mistake again this year but if we do then maybe its time for Eric to run the draft starting 2018.
2 hours ago, hen826957 said:I wonder if who ever sign Zach Brown, l wonder what his deal would be. If it's higher than we made the right decision, if it's a not then Ozzie didn't even tried.
Its all about the comp picks, especially now that they are tradeable. Personally I didnt watch him play last year but if he seems to be as good as you say he is then I dont understand why the Niners or Browns havent signed him yet since they both have plenty of cap space and the need for a ILB. I would rather give Patrick and KC the chance to prove themselves and save the money for CJ next year. We could play a lot of hybrid defense's with Weedle and Jefferson playing the ILB spot and by switching it up they will have no clue which one is blitzing or falling back in coverage.
28 minutes ago, whobilly said:Good choice considering we only have one legit NFL WR on the roster in Mike Wallace. I could accept Perriman's mediocrity if he was a 4th or 5th round pick. Unacceptable for a #1 pick.
You will be having a different attitude about him after this year, give the kid some credit. He was injured his entire rookie year because our team was to stubborn to do his surgery earlier and when he was finally healthy last year and gaining confidence he showed he could be great WR for us. This year will be his breakout season with over 1000 yards and 10 TDs. He is the reason why we wont be drafting a WR in the 1st or 2nd round and be able to draft other needs instead.
5 hours ago, Space11jams said:crockett is not better than pitta....maybe at blocking but pitta is a receiving TE. His hands are more reliable than any of the TE's on our roster. If he was faster you can put him the slot. Your not putting crocket in the slot position. Also, you can't blame Flacco (we only call #12 by his number) for the lack of production. He fell down the depth chart and flacco was vocal about getting kamar more involved. He doesn't make the depth sheet or draw up the plays. I agree their should've been more play designs for kamar which would've kept defenses guessing but that wasn't the case.
Crockett fights to gain extra yards and has reliable hands but has had little amount of work to show for it because #5 ( I scream his name enough during the season and refuse to say it until he can step his game back up) doesnt want anyone showing up his bff. Pitta falls to the ground on contact which i dont blame him having back to back injuries. Just wait and see when he leaves for a bigger contract and a starting position, he will easily have better numbers than Pitta. Maybe when we draft Cam at 16 to take over the RT spot it will finally give #5 time to see his other options instead of dumping it off short of the 1st down every time. BTW I dont want them to draft him but im starting to think thats what will happen. I would much rather draft Dan Feeney in the 2nd round and have the option of playing him at LG/C allowing Alex Lewis to slide out to RT if needed. Im just hoping whoever we draft at 16 is a stud because there is a lot of great talent available. Worst case we trade back picking up an extra pick and draft Adoree Jackson to take over return duties and corner depth. Personally I wouldnt mind that if it gives us an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick. If its a 3rd I would package it up with our extra 3rd to slide back into the 2nd to draft Sidney Jones and he can start next year opposite of Jimmy. That would easily give us the best secondary in the league and with Jimmy being the oldest we wouldnt have to worry about the position for another 5 years.
I think this will be great for Aiken and wish him nothing but the best, especially when he plays us. #5 did him dirty just like he did with Smitty and I would love nothing more than to see him have a breakout season leading to a huge contract. It doesn't matter who we have at WR as long as Pitta is in the game he will be getting the dump off pass, Crockett is 10 times better than Pitta but he won't get the chance to prove it until he is playing for another team.
I would have to go with Taco Charlton and Dan Feeney.. I would love Peppers at #16 but pass rush is a bigger need and he would start opposite of Sizzle day 1. I know Feeney isn't a sexy pick but we could slide him to C or LG and kick Alex Lewis out to RT, either way he would provide a major upgrade over the guys we got and eventually replace Yanda.
I'm starting to think we go Oline in the 1st round with depth at WR, Corner and Pass rushers we would be able to pick up solid players throughout the draft in those positions. We have 2 spots to fill on the Oline and we have to fill at least one of those spots with a 1st or 2nd round pick.

I was thinking the same thing.. Let's just not bring it back up the rest of the year because something always seems to happen. I am a huge fan of the "new" strength and conditioning program they will be running this year.
I am not worried about WR, we have talented young players and will add another in the 3rd round. Perriman will have his breakout year and bring excitement back to the offense. I am hoping KC will be able to step in at ILB but I think that's the least of our problems.
3 minutes ago, trevorsteadman said:10 games of Claiborne > Malcolm Butler...
Add in that Claiborne will likely be cheaper than Butler as well here in 2 years... Plus you get to keep the draft pick.
10 games of Claiborne would be spread out over 2-3 years, dude gets injured more than Jimmy. I would view him about the same amount of help as Lewis, Stewart, Arrington, Elam, Brooks and Wright.. We are better off without him than we will be if he does sign, all hopes of drafting a Corner to start would be thrown out the window.
What do you guys think about drafting Dan Feeney in the 2nd round? We can slide him to Center and have a very good line with Hurst being the only weak point at RT. I wouldn't mind sliding Lewis out to RT and letting Jensen and Urschel battle it out for the LG spot.
