Flacco throws that to the middle Perriman scores
I agree with Sami's assessment of CJ. He had a definite drop in productivity last year. He is a liability in pass coverage and isn't the side line to side line LB he was his rookie year. Although played sparingly in preseason still didn't see the rookie form. Hopefully that form returns this year. He is still a good LB, just not the beast he was in season one.

If they sign Hester, who is gone? Right now, there is no return guy unless it's C. Moore for KOs and Webb or SSS to fair catch punts, which I'm fine with.

Thanks! Although wish K. Lewis was really off the list or Elam. Would have left room for Ochi, although not safety, but Levine can plug in there. Oh well, roster will likely change anyway befor 1st game.
Doesn't the above list only have 52? Only 5 WRs listed even though it says 6. Can't figure out who is missing.
With Camp , Butler & Reynolds gone, are Ravens going with 5 WRs? Guess that's all that is really needed.
Neither Mallett nor Johnson have been able to take advantage of the massive height advantage our WRs and TEs have. Hope Joe does it in regular season.
Wish they'd hit one of those deep passes.
Okay, Pierce IS making this team!
What was that, Mallett?
These dinks and dunks to TEs especially Boyle just isn't working.
Uh oh, Camp might be in trouble making roster.
Pierce is getting consistent push into the backfield. Hope he makes the team.
Wish Correa would make some plays. He's out there but not involved.
Super impressive...Judon climbing depth charts, bthis guy has been everywhere last 2 weeks.
Josh Johnson..now pressing Mallet as back up Qb
Moore&Butler tonight as WRs
Redzone D still strong, and creating Turnovers Weddle&Levine
Not so great...1st team D, regardless no sizzle&Dum getting Marched on 2 straight weeks
Center position getting pushed around in run game on Oline, and not as many holes tonight
19-18 winJust wanted to point out or call to remembrance the fact the Ravens use vanilla game plans in the preseason. This means the D getting marched on is not a huge concern. If this was a full on game strategy being deployed and executed as it was, then yes you would have a valid point.
Vanilla play calling means basic plays, not plays that designed to take advantage of certain line ups or schemes, tendencies, etc.
Have seen and heard this comment numerous times as an explanation for the performance of Raven starters in the 2 preseason games. Be mindful the Panthers and Colts have done the same, no game planning and vanilla offensive and defensive plays. With that in mind the evidence is clear this Ravens team is getting beat and beat rather easily, particularly on defense. Sure the Ravens have won both games but I dare say both Rivera and Pagano were more pleased with their ones performances than Harbaugh has been with his.
Getting a few starters back and game planning for the regular season will improve the Ravens but that can be said for the Ravens opponents as well. Here's to hoping the Ravens returning starters and the game planning is that much better than the opponents. It would be great to have nice season this year but an exponential uptick in performance is required between now the start of the season for it to be realized.
Not seeing much difference in this year's Ravens than last year's.
Agree that Bisciotti has given an edict to forego questionable character players which one really can't argue against. It's his team, his rules. Ravens can win either way, with so-called choir boys or the playground bullies. On the field either can exhibit the nastiness to be intimidating.
On a different note how many of these guys have a legit shot to make final 53? Obviously, Stanley does. KO is gone, Monroe might be gone and Hurst is probably gone as well which means Lewis makes it.
Canty, Upshaw, and D Smith gone. Welcome, Correa, Kaufusi, and probably. None of them specifically replace D Smith but just looking at roster spots here. However this still leaves the coverage LB question unanswered. Wish Mosley had decent coverage skills which would solve the problem. Whose spot does Henry take? KLM, Guy, Davis?
Young and Canady could take anyone's spot not named Jimmy or Shareece at CB. For sure wide open competition at CB. Competition narrows if Oziie signs a cut or FA veteran CB.
Dixon? Does he have a chance to be one of the 3, 4 RBs? I hope so. Forsett, I think, is guaranteed but then it's Allen, LT, West, and what if Richardson realizes his potential?
At WR, already SSS, Aiken, M Wallace, Perriman. Add Moore and Reynolds to the Browns, Campanaro, Butler, Givens, Mathews and Clay that's some competition for 2, 3 spots.
Maybe draft strategy will change in the future. Ozzie was burned the past 2 days by coveting the "stockpiling of picks" philosophy. He didn't offer enough to Dallas to get Ramsey and kept trading back to get ammo to move up. Problem was no teams were interested in Ozzie's coveted mid and late round picks. They were after the more assured blue chip prospects available high in the first 3 rounds and not the diamond in the rough crap shoot mid and late rounds represent. We all know those diamonds are found but stud players are predominantly found in the first 3 rounds especially when the picks are near top 5 each of those rounds.
I cringe when I look at the Jaguars haul. That could have been the Ravens, addressing all 3 levels of the defense with 3 down players. It's what everyone on this board would have liked, albeit hoping Jack stayed healthy but that is the hope for every player. Ravens were one spot behind Jaguars. If Ozzie had been willing to give up picks instead of stockpiling them this draft could have been different.
Plse don't tell me to move to Jacksonville if I like the Jaguars pick so much. I like the Ravens as much as anyone on these boards and like everyone enjoy being a couch GM in the off season and arm chair head coach during the season. If we agreed on everything what would be the point in engaging conversation on these boards? Go Ravens and Correa and Kaufusi, please be the 3 down studs this defense desperately needs.
Are Correa and Kaufusi both considered situational or rotation players at their best? Seems that what Harbaugh was referring to when he was explaining where they could play. Ravens defense needs those every down studs to get back to being nasty. I understand even the best players will sit out a set of downs to get some wind but it seems this defense is predominantly a bunch of situational players and Correa and Kaufusi are just being added to the mix. Was hoping picking this high in the early rounds Oz would get some studs. It didn't happen.
That one hurts. Thought Ozzie would come get Cravens.
Correa indicating he had no idea the Ravens were interested him and hadn't heard from them since the combine is another indication that the 2 trade backs blew up in Ozzie's face. I still like Correa but he is not the 1st round talent the Ravens claimed they would get tonight.

Jags will have first year blue chip players at all 3 levels of their defense this year, Ramsey CB/S, Jack LB, and Fowler DE who was injured in TC last year and missed the season.
4 minutes ago, gametyme said:Is he the first round talent DeCosta said we would still get today?
The answer is no. Good player but nobody had him in the 1st round which only means that something went very wrong in the draft room with all the trade backs.
Can't argue with this pick. Earlier I indicated I'd be happy with Correa and Cravens tonight if Spence and Jack were not taken.
