  1. Knowing that Ravens have won if it doesn't show on record does NOT make me feel better, but knowing that Jaguars know that they haven't won does, a little bit. Out of spite. For all the good it does anyone. I really hope we don't take the "Suck for Luck" approach regardless of who declares for the draft whenever and keep fighting, for dignity, even if not for January.

At that, it should be the young guys making an effort. Arthur Brown should do his best to see the field more if he doesn't want to be a total draft bust and cut. We are already using a lot of our rookies and should continue to do that. All the fans being offensive towards Perriman - give it a rest. Alright, the injury and the fact that he's Ravens' Waldo is frustrating, but as Sarah says, more so for him. It's a freak injury and takes forever, but I'll refrain from judgement on bust status, unless it's multiple injuries that keep him off the field.

On that front I really really hope that Campanaro can get his body together for more than just a couple weeks at a time, because the kid shows promise, but as soon as he's in, he's out.

  2. What I like about Webb is that he is intelligent. Great player, especially, when he's 100% physically. The only thing about him that I worry about is the occasional injury - last year it took him forever to get back on form and be a contribution on the field. The secondary against Jaguars looked better on Sunday be a wide margin, so if Webby at safety was the reason, by all means, keep doing what works! It's fun to watch him pounce at people. He tackles differently than most other players I see.

  3. Of course Im a fan, not every fan has the same opinion and background though. Im a realistic type of fan. I understand the game, and have no problem calling things how I see it.

You have that fan mentality like the song "Don't stop, believing, hold on to that feelingaanng". And its nothing wrong with that. but we also needs fans like me. Its what maintains the balance and order.

You're the dark side of the force? :D I like it!

I'm not delusional, I can see some of the major things that need fixing and especially the penalties and turnovers drive me nuts, but I will still get passionate about a game, especially if it's a close one.

  4. I do not agree with John on this one. If you don't care about the officiating it will never get any better it will only get worse if that is possible. I feel like the Ravens have been targeted by officials. I wish CBS would show all the penalties that are called their broadcast. The other thing I think is being overlooked is I think they spotted the ball incorrectly on the last play I think they gave them 5 extra yards.

In a way I agree with you, but what should he say? Ravens should have been good enough to win by a better margin. I'm sure the Ravens will file a complaint, regardless of what Harbs says to the media. And upon reading this, I'm having a bad case of sour grapes. Just give Ravens a break! They haven't been playing great this year, but they haven't been playing as awful as the record either.

  5. Tough loss, BUT a blessing in disguise. High draft pick , experience for younger players , easy schedule next season , chip on their shoulders , get team leaders back & a blue chip free agent signing. This team will be scary good next season. Consider this season a detox. As a fan I have all the faith this time next year we'll be talking about how good this team is.

I still believe we have to learn how to win this season. Winning is not only laying it out on the field, it's a mentality. And for that, we want to start conditioning the young players early. Let some other losing team pick the top 5 and put some effort into turning the trend. Who's to say that if we don't manage that now we will next year. Because it's not because we lack playmakers that we have lost so many, but because we make stupid mistakes that cost us.

  6. I agree with Some of the things you say but, Dorota, these penalties have been going on All year. Actually, we were committing them at a high number las year as well. For this problem to have existed for this long it seems to indicate that Harbaugh is Not holding these players accountable. The dumb ones should be drawing fines and seats on the bench for a while. But all we hear from him is baloney. No hint, that holds any water, that anything is about to change. You're right. Penalties Are killing us but, it sure seems like Harbs has No plans to address the problem, and that, in itself, is a problem.

True. I don't know what would help. For every penalty make the whole unit sprint the field until two players throw up? Do push-ups like they do in Buffallo with Rex Ryan? I don't see into practice so don't know what is being done about it, but it sure isn't enough. What's sad is that it's even the good players that commit them. Will Hill tends to have one a game. Kendrick Lewis, who is not that great anyway seems to have penalties consistently. Jimmy has one from time to time. Timmy Jernigan had a bonehead one this year. It's players that are useful on the field, but are like a lose cannon for 15 yard penalties. Babin got cut over them, but it seems the message had no impact.

  7. What really hurt us is the penalties and the turnovers. Those lost us the game. Because, if you factor these out, we played lights out. Kamar Aiken had one big drop, but apart from that came up solid. All our TEs do their job and Juice is probably the highest producing fullback in the NFL. Especially I appreciated the big hits Juice and Maxx delivered. Juice does this every time. It looks like he really really wants to shake the defense up so that they are afraid to tackle. And I really appreciate that.

On the other side of the ball, the defense looked good as well. The secondary looks much improved and Webby, who's a guy I like as a person, really upped his game and came up with some nice highlights. Jimmy Smith is still inconsistent, but when he does well he does great. Our LBs had a good game and the hits Will Hill can deliver make me cringe and happy at the same time. From this perspective, all good yesterday.

    All comes down to:

    - protect the ball!

    - don't commit bonehead penalties!

  8. Lol, yea I didn't feel not one bit upset. Its crazy because I used to get so pumped for this team during our games. When we would win I'd feel like im on the clouds, and when we would lose, I feel like the hulk. But this season, after that loss to the Browns in our house, I knew this team was a joke, and I basically came to terms that they would keep losing. I'll always be a die hard Ravens fan, but I call things how I see them Dorota, this team is a joke.

We have too many free agents players that cannot perform in positions where performance is key. For instance, both our safeties & WR.

For me football is my life. I play it and I watch the Ravens and college too, so I can't not hope for a win. I'm an "against all odds" person and we are always close enough to hope. Other teams are welcome to the number one pick, I want Ravens to make an effort every game and fight for the win, because that's who I believe the Ravens are. There are still guys making a monster effort on the team. But what I hate and what makes me mad are the bonehead penalties. In retrospect, not even so much Doom, who was the only one to make an effort the last snap and I know it sometimes happens - you just stick your hand wrong and no matter how hard you try, you cannot pull it out in time. It's the late hits and unnecessary roughness that made me go mental.

  9. If anyone is very angry right now, its because you guys kept believing that somehow this team would "win out" and somehow make the playoffs, which I always thought was a joke to even think about. I gave up hope for this team after that home loss to the Browns. And it really helps because I no longer lose my cool and go about my Sundays with an attitude. For the first time in my life, I felt nothing earlier when the kicker made that 53 yarder. Its weird because I used to get so pumped during our games, and when we lost I would literally feel like hurting someone smh. But now I feel nothing. This isn't the Ravens team we once knew. It is a poorly put together circus of new and old players.

And you call yourself a fan? Sure, I believe a win is less likely the further down this season, but I still think it possible. What kills us is the penalties. It's obvious the guys aren't all on the same page. I saw some people play lights out as well. I'm sorry that Doom was the only one playing on that snap and that he grabbed Bortles wrong and lost them the game. But he was also the only one who played. He had 2 sacks. Lardarius Webb played lights out. Juice is without an argument the most impressive fullback in the league. Kamar Aiken stepped up bigtime, he was better than I expected. Our TEs all made the effort. Will Hill had a penalty for late hit, but apart from that, he's brilliant. Those are only the guys who played well. Again, what broke our back is the penalties.

  10. Congrats to Chris Givens for the quiet promotion. Please don't get me all excited about Flacco-Givens chemistry, before I see it torching the field. I don't think I could take the disappointment.

Marlon Brown on the other hand... That is disappointing, because rookie year he had some very clutch moments and showed some promise. Not to be a star necessarily, but to be useful for sure. However, this year he looks like a waste of roster space.

  11. Turns out I was right, but I still feel horrible about it. This is a miserable way to go for him, whether just for the year or as the end of a career that is still to be seen, but either way. A player like Pitta should not have to go through this or this early. My hopes are, that it will improve still over time, but I am afraid, that as much as he would love to and as much effort he will continue to put into his rehab, it may not be possible again.

  12. Thank you John Eisenberg for the article. I agree with you on what you say. It shows the system is faulty that Hardy is playing and that his suspension was insignificant. Also, that the league lets players on the field so soon if they think they can get away with it - i.e. no graphic evidence yet released. For better or worse, punishment should not be reevaluated as a consequence of public outcry, where NFL had the information for their decision available to them when they were making it. It shouldn't have been with Ray Rice and it shouldn't be with Greg Hardy. What it should do is make the league aware that domestic violence is horrible and should be punished harshly regardless of fans' feedback. This destroyed a career of RR, who is essentially a decent person that made a mistake, yet keeps on the field players that appear to be violent by nature and show no remorse.

  13. Are you saying you think Pitta will come back next year, or that he is done?  At what point, exactly, does he say, "Yes, I can play football?"  How much waiting is too much waiting?

I don't have the answers, just sharing my opinions, that may be limited in knowledge. What I'm saying is, I don't think Dennis Pitta will play football. Based of what I've read about hip dislocations and what opinions some physicians shared it seems that it's an injury that tends to be recurrent, among other things, for the hip to dislocate, a part of the socket has to break off and is missing, making it easier to dislocate again. Also, there are some major arteries around hips that might suffer damage and lead to issues down the line, such as soft tissue necrosis or chronic pains.

I might be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. For Pitta's sake especially.

  14. Don't expect Pitta to suit up. It would be uplifting to see him do so and prosper, but the personal risks are too great and have life-long implications. It would be reckless.

As well, as much as I love Jacoby Jones and as much as we miss his big plays, it wouldn't help us any to sign him. He's a speedster for sure, but he had butter fingers all through 2014, which is why Ravens ultimately released him.

It's awesome to see Will Hill III as the 3rd best safety in the game so far this year. He's been a bright spot in our secondary. I can also see Darian Stewart there, who we dropped and who was picked up by Denver...

  15. Juice is looking solid lately. I wouldn't have expected with the way FB is becoming a forgotten position in the NFL that he could make any impact beyond a blocker, but I'm a fan! Harbaugh brothers like their fullbacks I guess... Marlon Brown on the other hand - he looked good in his rookie year, I was rooting for him to leverage the opportunity, but he's becoming a non-factor by no one's fault but his own.

  16. Glad to see the WRs step up when they had to. Both Givens and Ross were a good pick up. I also noticed that all punts and kick-offs both ways they tried hard not to give each returner any opportunity to run with the ball. The secondary are still bad, expect for Will Hill, but as long as we've got the win... Bitter-sweet for Steve Smith though. Finally got into the top ten receivers in career yardage, but also out for the season, when he intended to retire after this one. I hope he changes his mind.
