One thing is the attitude. I admire that. Work hard, stick your nose in it and prove yourself by what you do, not what you say. Going into the league with "block first" mentality is also handy, as most guys want to be the flashy, "I got yards and TDs" guy. This gets him noticed. And I am really excited about who comes out on top in the TE competition. Even with a healthy Pitta, if he is that, it could be either Gilmore, Williams or Pitta on top.
Buck is a stud! And it's good for the rooks to have vet presence
I really don't know why they would release Juice. We will still need a FB and he played very well last year. He is also dynamic and I think we need to get him involved more. He needs to hold onto the ball a little better though. But he isn't going anywhere. I also highly doubt we keep 7 WRs. I say 6 is the limit, and if Pitta is healthy and comes back, he may have more of a WR role instead of TE. We have blockers so all Pitta has to do is focus on catching passes. That may force us to only keep 5 WRs with 4 TEs.
I like your proposition. Would be better for Pitta as well, if he's fragile.
Ravens seem to always have a full back on the roster I bet his job is safe. I think we had 7 wide receivers on the roster last season I bet they cut it to 6 this season to make room for the 4 tight ends they will need to keep on the roster. I just bet Boyle or Pitta (depending on injury status) will be inactive for games because we won't need 4. The position people need to look at the cuts are at cornerback (we have so many now its rediculous and will be interesting to see who makes the final roster) and defensive line with all the young pieces and others they signed and moved in here. I'm surprised the Ravens have yet to sign a solid inside linebacker like Bynes was for us a couple years ago because one injury to CJ Mosley or Daryl Smith and that inside linebacker core will be exposed. Great talent at the position just depth wise the next person up would be Arthur Brown and they talk about how he hasn't played well enough to even get into even one package on the field.
I hope you're right about Juice. I want to keep him and I like the fullback position as such, so glad that Ravens are fond of it. There will definitely be plenty of cuts among the DBs, Ravens have a plethora of them right now and just picking and choosing. However, considering how many offensive weapons we already know we want to keep I'm worried of losing some fan favorites of mine. After all, the fullback position is becoming more and more an extra blocker position and gets the ball less and less. Luckily, Juice has something extra, because he knows how to catch screens and has soft hands.
Not sure what's happening on the 2nd tier of ILBs, behind Mosley and Daryl Smith... Beyond depth in case of injuries, we should be raising an ILB to replace Buck in a couple. I have no idea what Arthur Brown is like, but taking into account that there is almost no mention of him anywhere, I will take you at your word, that he ain't that good.
As long as the other WRs and TEs we've got on our roster can step up and be productive on offense, I have no quarrel with Steve Smith Sr being a punt returner. Would be fun to watch
Though, of course, we won't see too many punts this year ![]()
If they ain't, we'll need to make sure Smith Sr is safe and fresh for offense.
That's what is going to be different about this season is, the stats are going to be so spread out, if pitta comes back we have three good TEs in Gilmore, Axe, and Pitta. Then we have a plethora of WR talent: Brown, Smith, Perriman, Waller, Camp, and then with more screen passes that means more receiving stats for the running backs, lets also not forget about JJJUUUIIICCCEE.
I love Juice, but not sure whether he won't be collateral damage of keeping too much players elsewhere, such as having 4 TEs and 6-7 WRs as well as 3 RBs if both Allen and Taliaferro are on the active roster, come beginning of season.
What's wrong with Maxx? I agree it's unique enough.
My guess why Roethlisberger is best graded in league when under pressure is, that he's so big, that sometimes he doesn't even notice someone attempted a tackle and keeps on moving. He looks more like a DL than a QB.
Before I get to anything else - whoah, quit about the uniforms please! The black 2x a year uniform is the most beautiful thing ever seen on an NFL football field fashionwise and I adore them and am sorry to see them only 2x a year. Maybe they're not popular because when Ravens wear the black, they almost always win
Get over yourselves, other guys.
I'm really really hoping that Marshall Yanda signs an extension and gets to stay here. However, he is the one player, that can afford not to take a bargain, because anyone in the NFL is smart enough to figure out they need him. So if he wants the money, he will get the money. Just not here... Maybe Miami can pull out cash out of their rear end. Not sure how they get to do it to make splash "I robbed the bank and now I'm reckless" signings a la Suh or Tannerhill's new contract, but I guess that's where money is sat or some other desperate team.
Those two will get along magnificently
I can't wait!
SIGN TUCKER NOW....no joke. Quit playing around. Kicker money is only going to go up, particularly after this season. Give the kid 3 mill a year for 4 years, he's worth it. DO IT NOW OZZIE!!!!
Yeah, that's my one worry with this rule change - we do have a competitive advantage with Tucker, but his contract expires next year and no extension in sight...
I'm loving the Maxx Williams video! Super excited!
Sam Koch makes 2.5 mil,and is a FA next year, so that kind of money could slide over to Tucker...Tucker likes it here, and has a nice following, but we will see what happens next year....
We like Tucker too, but it's up to him to sign an extension. As some ex-Ravens have found out before, you sometimes have to choose, whether money or Ravens family is more important to you.
I think Elam will be improved, but he will have to win the job, and not have it handed to him...
I think Elo's best chance at a comeback is volunteering for special teams and showing that he still can tackle to make the other side cry. Special teams are the way to go with Harbs. If he can show that's he's got it, he will be seen.
I think we're the ones "like a kid on Christmas" ![]()
Great signing! He can play nickel while Smith and Webb handle the rest. Why not get another ring this year in purple?
Here's my hoping that Elam does indeed turn it around. He's a hardworking guy who takes what he does seriously, which is a better attitude than a lot of players in the NFL. 2014 sucked for him. No denying that. Go on and prove yourself, kid! True about Harbs being big on special teams - Elo, get in there, volunteer, whatever. You won't see many defensive snaps unless you hustle real hard and make a point of showing what you can do.
I'm looking forward to a wicked season! We have on the team the guys that can make Ravens go all the way!
I'd like to see him step up and play like if it were the last game he'll ever. I saw the Vikings game and man, I screamed like a girl with that touchdown! I am a girl, but you get my point...
with good veterans behind him, Will Hill and Kendrick Lewis, he can play sub-saftey packages and play more in the box. He never had good leadership back deep... James Ihedigbo, Darian Stewart and Michael Huff?? We won't have to play him because he is a healthy body. We can use him strategically.. I'm more high on Terrance Brooks doe.
Ehm, what exactly is your quarrel with James Ihedigbo? I was sad to see him price himself out and go to the Lions. He brought veteran leadership into the locker room, he elevated the game and showed his prowess on the field and he was good with the media too as he was an intelligent speaker.
Oh, and while he was on the roster, Elam did not shame himself. Remember when Huff turned out to be a bust and Elam got the start by game 2 and played well all season?
im a little nervous about michael campanaro or asa jackson getting injured on kickoff returns so maybe deandre carter or if elam dosnt improve i would say we can make him the returner
We have enough receivers if Campanaro gets injured. I'd say give him a try on the returner job.
Funnily, it's the "easy" practices that often lead to ugly injuries. We just lost a girl in yesterday's run through of playbook. It was a push during zone coverage of passes. Except she has now a dislocated elbow and torn ligaments there, dislocated knee and torn ligaments there and a broken leg
Was ugly.
I know I'm late noticing this and just stating the obvious, but Reed's presser showed that this man is not only a football legend, but an intellectual, wholesome man with so much social intelligence and compassion. His speech was one of the smartest and filled with best advice I have heard in a while.
Steve Smith rocks! Perriman highlights look great! I know they're highlights for a reason, but hope he looks like that on the field ![]()
Browns case of sour grapes much? Yup, Baltimore has won the draft. Two rookies prospected as OROY and burn Steelers in round 2?
Cinci should have gotten a QB too.

"Preserve" him - he's not a fossil
Not sure how well preservation goes if he plays a punt returner, but I'm not adverse to seeing him there.
