I'm back from scrimmage in Hungary. In the end, we lost 6:0 in third overtime, but altogether, it was a good game for us, second ever game played against another girls' team. Our defense was beyond fantastic, outperforming everyone on the field. Our offense was struggling some, but there were moments to be proud of and our passing game improved. I played LG and DT and was way better than in Germany. Altogether it was a 16 hour round bus trip, but totally worth it!
I'm back from training camp and won the starting ILB job! All black & blue, might have a concussion, but I'm happy and proud.
TDubbs, I use a mouthguard all the time. Yeah, the helmet should be better, it was borrowed, I'll figure something out, because I'm not even training in that one again.
Take care girl, football is a tough game.
Good on ya but that's why I watch instead of play. I value my life and health more.
(Contact) flag will have to do.
Stay safe.
Is Ryan Mink drunk or just tired? He looked it in the interview right now
Otherwise, he's my favorite guy there and always really smooth.
Looking forward to the next game. I'm excited about what we have here and want to see how Monroe fares on the field. Apart from that, I'm just really looking to get back on the field myself. Had a sprained ankle, but have got to practice for scrimmage with Hungarian girls and German girls.
No tiptoing around the tulips - I wonder if without Joe Flacco as well as without Justin Forsett and Steve Smith Sr and 2-3 OL we have a chance at winning another game...
One more. At least one more. Schawb has to resurect. Jus and Allen to run.
Schaub does have what it takes to win. Or at least did. He just needs to remember that and put it into action. He hasn't looked good in practice, but he WAS a pro bowl QB. I'm hoping that he's one of the guys that starts performing well when the pressure is high. Allen looked great and I'm glad to see Juice rolling. He's versatile and tough and that's what matters.
Real happy for Jim Caldwell. He's a good dude and Detroit Lions have a good team to work with. I'm sure he'll prosper there. On the other hand, I'm also happy for us in a way. Maybe a little change can do us well in the offense. More curious than anything else.
I don't think the detroit job is good no matter how talent they have every year they end up being mediocre. Respect to caldwell but he had an ideal colts team and couldn't win the big one with them after dungy left him a great team.
I agree. Detroit needs character and consistency more than anything - that's Caldwell. I'm also anxious/excited for us, it means change.
Detroit forum is exploded with fury after hearing Caldwell as their HC...
Seriously? Is everyone going to keep posting about Trawick's hit on Jacoby? Wow, one hit really does screw up your life. I don't know anything about the kid apart from the fact that he has multiple pages of comments worth of hitting Jacoby Jones in 80% of the comments.
I was one of those people when it happened too, especially when I had just been lamenting the release of Bobby Rainey since we didn't have a viable backup returner behind Jacoby while Deonte and Asa were out. It's well in the past and most are actually over it but its unfortunately a stigma he will carry with him until he does something more notable. Hopefully he can accomplish that this year.
I know what you mean. And it really didn't look good and is the only thing I remember about him too. I just find it pointless to post a comment trying to be funny about it on a page, if there are 20 other looking the same. It irks me for two reasons - I read the comments to find something interesting or trivia I didn't know or somebody else's opinion so that I learn something new. Filtering the hate is a pain. Second thing is - I don't mind if people mention it in passing, aft...
So I'm back from the USA. Didn't even last until the start of football season. I'd watch high school games, college games and some Ravens. Unfortunately, I have a messed up back and the health coverage in the US is not as great as many other things you have.
I went to the US as au pair in February, but blew my disc out and couldn't do the job. And as you do not have automatic health coverage for all, or complete health coverage for doctors' visits, I had to come back. The health program the au pairs are offered only covers emergencies and when I called to check whether my back would be treated for free, I was told "No way Jose!" So I came home, where I don't have to pay every single dollar of what I earn for doctors.
Just wait, it's only going to get worse, sadly
I hope not. I've already seen, that Americans often send sick kids to school, because you don't get any employee rights or 4 weeks of holidays like we do, or the doctors, so the kids don't get taken to the doc and the parent just cannot afford to stay home with the kids.
Steve Smith Sr still in Prague and no luck of random meeting or him popping up at our training. Heartbreaking ![]()
Where were you staying in Prague? I love it here too.
I don't remember, but it was one or two stops from the center. It was a pretty nice hotel and we were on a group tour. Could have been a Novotel. We also liked Budapest as this was part of our tour.
I've played football in Budapest and have seen a little of the view from the team bus, but unfortunately, didn't get to visit it as a tourist yet. Going again in May, but again for football ![]()
Sunday I have learnt first hand, how important special teams are. Harpies have a good defense, but not great defense and if the punt team consistently keeps leaving the ball within our own 20-yard-line, at times at the 3y then the offense needs to get more than 1 TD. This Saturday we'll do better! Excited to kick more butt!
The funny habit where I start refreshing the Ravens page every workday at 3pm CET to see whether Late for Work article is out yet. I'll easily admit to that being my favorite feature.
The result sucks, but I'm proud of the guys. Even though we're not playing to get in the playoffs, even though the results of the game were getting further and futher away, they played their hearts out. Talentwise we lost out, there was no way our backup team could make it, but by gods they didn't give up!
Today it's an I LOVE YOU JOE! Wow. Just wow. That 21 yard scramble? He's my guy. And keeping it cool in the last minute of the game and winning it for us (with Marlon Brown of course!), that's admirable.
Tomorrow noon, I play a women's football tourney, first as MLB. I've trained for the position all of one month and am terribly nervous. Please wish me be possessed by Ray Lewis/Daryl Smith/C. J. Moseley for a day for I will need it.
wow we are born in the same year and have the same nickname lol thats really cool.
Is it a lingerie football league?
@BloodRaven. Nope. Regular women's football. Full contact, proper tackles.
We won and won! I could have done better, but I didn't have any major errors and haven't missed any of my direct responsibilities. No one got past the middle ![]()
Well check out Za'Darius Smith! Kid's got speed and good hands!
I don't think any teams are using 3 TEs often. Probably because it won't work because TEs does not have the speed of WRs. It would work on short yardage gains but would falter during the whole game. 3 TEs are easier to cover than 3 WRs because there is less speed and less spreading of defense. Also 3 TEs would tired out quickly because they are bigger than WRs, making is easy to cover them which is why TEs are rotated.
Thanks for the insight
We do still need some deep threats, well aware of that. Will relieve us from blitz heavy defenses some. Just thinking it would be good to leverage what we have in them.
Yes, I agree we need deep threats badly till Perriman comes back. If we cannot find one soon, I hope Flacco throws a 50 yards bomb successfully to Givens which would make teams back off.
What's worse than losing is losing so close every game. It feels like "We could have won, but didn't try hard enough."
Why can't I format my text the first time round I post a comment? No ends of paragraphs or anything. There must be a way to change default settings. Right?
If I click on edit after posting, I can format, or if I want to quote someone. But if I just write a comment under the article, it comes out unformatted.
hmmm might have ask a mod about that
Good idea, I'll do that.
Working hard coming off injury. Ankle and Achilles looking good, elbow not so much, but it'll do. Offence training done Monday, team training completed yesterday and hardcore training today a success
I'll get myself in shape for scrimmage with Munich next Saturday, whatever it takes!
Za'Darius Smith up for Rookie of the Week, Justin Forsett up for Ground Player of the Week and Justin Tucker up for Clutch Player of the Week. Not a bad field trip, was it? ![]()
Cool, anyone know the links which we fans can place a vote? Maybe you can mention it on one of news stories and provide a link for Ravens fans to vote. Looks like a good chance all 3 will win for week 4.
It's all on the NFL.com front page
Justin Tucker - can't imagine he wouldn't be a win. Watched the Justin Forsett highlights and they look even better than just watching him play. Za'Darius Smith made sure we didn't lose the game at least on one point (the Bell tackle not on the highlight reel), but not sure how much the unbiased football fan will notice.
Got it, thank you. ![]()
