  1. Thank you John Eisenberg for the article. I agree with you on what you say. It shows the system is faulty that Hardy is playing and that his suspension was insignificant. Also, that the league lets players on the field so soon if they think they can get away with it - i.e. no graphic evidence yet released. For better or worse, punishment should not be reevaluated as a consequence of public outcry, where NFL had the information for their decision available to them when they were making it. It shouldn't have been with Ray Rice and it shouldn't be with Greg Hardy. What it should do is make the league aware that domestic violence is horrible and should be punished harshly regardless of fans' feedback. This destroyed a career of RR, who is essentially a decent person that made a mistake, yet keeps on the field players that appear to be violent by nature and show no remorse.
  2. A lovely homage that made me smile
  3. I don't have the answers, just sharing my opinions, that may be limited in knowledge. What I'm saying is, I don't think Dennis Pitta will play football. Based of what I've read about hip dislocations and what opinions some physicians shared it seems that it's an injury that tends to be recurrent, among other things, for the hip to dislocate, a part of the socket has to break off and is missing, making it easier to dislocate again. Also, there are some major arteries around hips that might suffer damage and lead to issues down the line, such as soft tissue necrosis or chronic pains. I might be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. For Pitta's sake especially.
  4. If he does get signed (which I think unlikely), I will be glad to see his face back in here, he's a great person and entertainer. However, question is, can he get out of his funk? He hasn't been playing well this past year.
  5. Don't expect Pitta to suit up. It would be uplifting to see him do so and prosper, but the personal risks are too great and have life-long implications. It would be reckless. As well, as much as I love Jacoby Jones and as much as we miss his big plays, it wouldn't help us any to sign him. He's a speedster for sure, but he had butter fingers all through 2014, which is why Ravens ultimately released him. It's awesome to see Will Hill III as the 3rd best safety in the game so far this year. He's been a bright spot in our secondary. I can also see Darian Stewart there, who we dropped and who was picked up by Denver...
  6. Juice is looking solid lately. I wouldn't have expected with the way FB is becoming a forgotten position in the NFL that he could make any impact beyond a blocker, but I'm a fan! Harbaugh brothers like their fullbacks I guess... Marlon Brown on the other hand - he looked good in his rookie year, I was rooting for him to leverage the opportunity, but he's becoming a non-factor by no one's fault but his own.
  7. I'd rather say it was that defensive player that grabbed Steve by the ankles maybe?..
  8. Glad to see the WRs step up when they had to. Both Givens and Ross were a good pick up. I also noticed that all punts and kick-offs both ways they tried hard not to give each returner any opportunity to run with the ball. The secondary are still bad, expect for Will Hill, but as long as we've got the win... Bitter-sweet for Steve Smith though. Finally got into the top ten receivers in career yardage, but also out for the season, when he intended to retire after this one. I hope he changes his mind.
  9. When I saw him go down and look in terrible pain I was screaming at my screen for him to (self-censored) Ice up! But knew it was bad when he walked off without showing his face. At least he got to the 10th spot, but hope he reconsiders the retirement. This would be a bad way to finish a career like that. They can go have a beer with Sizzle and plan out their comeback.
  10. I would take Ed Reed as a coach any day. He's a leader by example, is dedicated to improving on the field and in the film room and also a very good speaker, where he expresses well, not only in emotion, but also in clarity. Neg me all you like, but I don't think Ray Lewis would make a good coach. He's also a great player and a leader by example and a great motivational speaker, but all of that is through emotion. Most of his speeches make me feel "I have no idea what the dude said, but I feel all charged up! Let's go do whatever it was he said! Yay!" Would he be able to explain to individual players where they can improve, what's a way to up your technique etc beyond "You gotta hustle! You gotta want it!"?
  11. For those I was talking to about our matches with Prague Harpies and my ILB struggles - we won our final match. Defense held solid. I'm a dummy because I didn't manage to hold onto an int and someone fractured my pinky while trying to recover a forced fumble, but still very happy that things went down the way they did.

  12. They do indeed, but somehow, Ravens generally do best when even the most loyal fans have a hard time predicting a win.
  13. I just don't get where all this trade talk is coming from? If you want to give SSS one more chance to play in a super bowl start winning games for Pete's sake! For anyone who chooses to play lights out, if we can get the whole team to do just that, we are not done yet! Haven't there been teams in the AFC South that had a chance at play-offs with .500 record? That will never happen up north, but if we can get above .500 there is always a chance. Teams got to play in January with 9-7 records before. So Ravens suck a little right now. Too bad. But they haven't lost hope yet and don't sound defeated so it's disloyal of fans to do so until January football becomes mathematically impossible. Great to hear that Steve is loyal. It's sad he might go into retirement without a bang and a flash, but I really appreciate his spirit and attitude towards the Ravens. No way he'll go back to Carolina, they're doing okay without him and from a certain moment, he wasn't a good fit. Well, he is here. If the Ravens had a spirit animal, it would be Steve Smith. Now, I am in no way in denial over the state of our secondary or that the offense hasn't been as flashy as we would like it to be - too many throws that are off and drops by our WRs. However, here's to hoping to the good things helping to the rise of the phoenix from the ashes. This season. Not sometime indefinite in the future, near or far.
  14. Of course they won't trash the Ravens before a match. You have to keep it PC and most teams do. However, I do appreciate what Patrick Peterson is saying about SSS - that's a different angle on him than I usually hear and sounds like genuine respect, not like some filler you'd say because you have to.
  15. Glad Webby's back in, but hope he's 100% so that he can do his job. Jimmy Smith can do his. I'm not sure about the rest. Secondary will do what they can do. Hope the rest of defense helps them out with some massive hits on Palmer so that he gets thrown off balance. Yes, I know how likely it is, but a girl can dream!
  16. Ray Lewis is a great player a great motivator and full of BS when it comes to analyzing post-Ray Ravens. We do have cornerstones to build around. Players that Sarah named are it. We are just missing the passionate leader you want to win for. Let me be bold, but if we have a chance to turn the season around, it's now. I don't know how it's possible, but Ravens since I know them are great at surprise losses to teams at the bottom of the table and then even bigger surprise wins where nobody expects them to - i.e. away, great offense, time difference, with multiple injuries in key positions. The advert with Joe made me laugh No worried we're not winning, his timing is off :D
  17. Glad to see Webb back in practice. After seeing Shareece Wright start last week Webby back is great news! I won't damn Wright straight away, I don't know him and maybe he was really victim to being picked apart by a team that knows him, but my trust in him is lacking. Hope Williams is back up soon - our TEs have been the bright spot of the team. All of them.
  18. I love both Ravens and Star Wars and this one made me laugh out loud. Especially with Joe Skywalker and Master Trestman.
  19. Heavier than Upshaw? Wow. Crockett is awesome. I like the confidence. I remember him saying last year that he's primarily a blocking tight end and then later claiming he said so that he'd get extra snaps and extra looks, which he did and that his purpose is to own the position. You've got to trust a guy who's got so much faith in himself and is willing to back up his talk.
  20. THANK YOU!!!! Unlikely isn't impossible. Go Ravens!
  21. Hopefully Ravens keep on fighting. I don't want to watch a team that sinks the rest of their season for a good draft position. There are a lot more other enjoyable things I can do on Sunday nights than watch halfassed attempts at football. Ravens aren't so bad as to have no chance at all at a decent season (albeit with a bad start).
  22. You're absolutely right! As much as I would love to see Pitta back on the field and as much as it would be a boost for the Ravens, on a human level, I just can't get myself to believe that he won't reinjure the hip. The problem with dislocated hip is, after the first time, there is a part of the bone that broke-off to allow dislocation permanently missing, allowing for easier dislocation the 2nd, 3rd, Xth time. He's already proved that he can rehab to get in form to get back, but that reinjury is a high risk. And every time it gets worse. Whoever's had a hip injury should know it's one of the most painful things ever and tends to hurt for ages. Pitta, if you injure it one more time, I guarantee that you'll cuss out everytime there's bad weather outside, because your hip'll be singing songs of pain to you.
  23. I still feel skeptical about whether Pitta will be able to play full contact football. However, if he does feel confident to do so and doctors clear him, would he be able to line-up as a wideout? He has done in the past. This could help us utilize him without taking snaps away from our young TE corps which has been performing well. It's a shame when you have four good TEs but only one really good WR.
  24. I think privately also. One thing I respect about the Ravens, both players and coaches, is that they fight. If you look at pressers with other teams below .500 they often sound defeated and depressed and halfway gone. That's the beginning of the end. It might be subjective, but I have not detected anything such in Harbs or most players interviewed. They are still fighting. It's still remotely possible, though unlikely, but they're holding onto that chance.
  25. I was hoping, but wasn't all that confident. Despite the drops, SSS looked good. There were a couple bright points that I liked, like the OL holding quite solid for Joe. No TE shone, but Joe was able to distribute the ball between all three, so that's a good thing on it's own I think. Funnily enough it's more likely that Ravens will finally win once they play a really good team than it is likely that they will beat a bad one. You're right about the leadership. I had my tips on who the guys would be to step up, but they didn't pan out. Shame about Webby, he's the only one making a visible effort to do so, but it's tough when you're not on the field.
