  1. No tiptoing around the tulips - I wonder if without Joe Flacco as well as without Justin Forsett and Steve Smith Sr and 2-3 OL we have a chance at winning another game...

One more. At least one more. Schawb has to resurect. Jus and Allen to run.

Schaub does have what it takes to win. Or at least did. He just needs to remember that and put it into action. He hasn't looked good in practice, but he WAS a pro bowl QB. I'm hoping that he's one of the guys that starts performing well when the pressure is high. Allen looked great and I'm glad to see Juice rolling. He's versatile and tough and that's what matters.

  2. Mosley played like "DROY my butt, Donald!"

  3. If we're rating entertaining factor (as well as getting the job done and player safety), then for sure Will Hill and Lardarius Webb tackles are the most watchable. Hill for the WWE style and Lardarius Webb because he looks like a pouncing panther. Love to see the way Hill is developing as a player this year and also seeing that he got his life straight.
  4. He's versatile and has played very well this year. He's probably our most intelligent player in the backfield. Mixing things up can help us so I'd like to see him with increased snaps at safety, but as many of you said - if we do that, we still have a hole at corner. Regardless of what he says, I think when it comes right down to it, Webb will play whatever they ask him to, he's just making it clear corner is his preference. After all, he did restructure his contract and take less money last year, which wasn't even his contract year, to help the team out with all the dead money for Ngata and Rice.
  5. Of course It's just wishful thinking - he would be fantastic, because with Ed, it's not all just god-given natural skill, but so much effort he put into being as great as he was. He can't teach talent, but he can teach all the rest. Of course I don't want to break little kiddies hearts!
  6. Juice is great! Not as featured as our TEs, as a FB he does more blocking than catching, but he can do that too and has made some impact plays for us this year. He can also line up as a TE and has some experience playing the position at school. I've said before, he's by a wide margin the most featured fullback in the league. Decent blocking skills, soft hands and when he can't avoid a hit, then his mindset is for the defense to hurt worse than he will. It's very visible and well appreciated. Obviously, he has responsibilities of his own, but where a 3 TE set would be helpful, he can step in.
  7. I hope he can back up that trash talk. At the moment, no expectations one way or another. Won't get hyped up by the press, but not pessimistic either. The no celebration was refreshing in it's own way and is an attitude of it's own - "Eh, a touchdown, just business as usual."
  8. Bring in Ed Reed to coach. Little League will have to wait.
  9. Knowing that Ravens have won if it doesn't show on record does NOT make me feel better, but knowing that Jaguars know that they haven't won does, a little bit. Out of spite. For all the good it does anyone. I really hope we don't take the "Suck for Luck" approach regardless of who declares for the draft whenever and keep fighting, for dignity, even if not for January. At that, it should be the young guys making an effort. Arthur Brown should do his best to see the field more if he doesn't want to be a total draft bust and cut. We are already using a lot of our rookies and should continue to do that. All the fans being offensive towards Perriman - give it a rest. Alright, the injury and the fact that he's Ravens' Waldo is frustrating, but as Sarah says, more so for him. It's a freak injury and takes forever, but I'll refrain from judgement on bust status, unless it's multiple injuries that keep him off the field. On that front I really really hope that Campanaro can get his body together for more than just a couple weeks at a time, because the kid shows promise, but as soon as he's in, he's out.
  10. Can he give a pep talk to the refs? As to Ravens defense, they play tough. They just play stupid - bonehead penalties.
  11. What I like about Webb is that he is intelligent. Great player, especially, when he's 100% physically. The only thing about him that I worry about is the occasional injury - last year it took him forever to get back on form and be a contribution on the field. The secondary against Jaguars looked better on Sunday be a wide margin, so if Webby at safety was the reason, by all means, keep doing what works! It's fun to watch him pounce at people. He tackles differently than most other players I see.
  12. Juice, who is officially a FB, but played FB/TE hybrid at school also deserves a mention. He can carry the ball, has made some impact and the hits he lays on defenders! Maxx also had a good hit where he couldn't avoid a tackle.
  13. You're the dark side of the force? I like it! I'm not delusional, I can see some of the major things that need fixing and especially the penalties and turnovers drive me nuts, but I will still get passionate about a game, especially if it's a close one.
  14. In a way I agree with you, but what should he say? Ravens should have been good enough to win by a better margin. I'm sure the Ravens will file a complaint, regardless of what Harbs says to the media. And upon reading this, I'm having a bad case of sour grapes. Just give Ravens a break! They haven't been playing great this year, but they haven't been playing as awful as the record either.
  15. I still believe we have to learn how to win this season. Winning is not only laying it out on the field, it's a mentality. And for that, we want to start conditioning the young players early. Let some other losing team pick the top 5 and put some effort into turning the trend. Who's to say that if we don't manage that now we will next year. Because it's not because we lack playmakers that we have lost so many, but because we make stupid mistakes that cost us.
  16. Penalties and turnovers. As long as those keep happening it doesn't matter if otherwise Ravens play lights out.
  17. True. I don't know what would help. For every penalty make the whole unit sprint the field until two players throw up? Do push-ups like they do in Buffallo with Rex Ryan? I don't see into practice so don't know what is being done about it, but it sure isn't enough. What's sad is that it's even the good players that commit them. Will Hill tends to have one a game. Kendrick Lewis, who is not that great anyway seems to have penalties consistently. Jimmy has one from time to time. Timmy Jernigan had a bonehead one this year. It's players that are useful on the field, but are like a lose cannon for 15 yard penalties. Babin got cut over them, but it seems the message had no impact.
  18. What really hurt us is the penalties and the turnovers. Those lost us the game. Because, if you factor these out, we played lights out. Kamar Aiken had one big drop, but apart from that came up solid. All our TEs do their job and Juice is probably the highest producing fullback in the NFL. Especially I appreciated the big hits Juice and Maxx delivered. Juice does this every time. It looks like he really really wants to shake the defense up so that they are afraid to tackle. And I really appreciate that. On the other side of the ball, the defense looked good as well. The secondary looks much improved and Webby, who's a guy I like as a person, really upped his game and came up with some nice highlights. Jimmy Smith is still inconsistent, but when he does well he does great. Our LBs had a good game and the hits Will Hill can deliver make me cringe and happy at the same time. From this perspective, all good yesterday. All comes down to: - protect the ball! - don't commit bonehead penalties!
  19. For me football is my life. I play it and I watch the Ravens and college too, so I can't not hope for a win. I'm an "against all odds" person and we are always close enough to hope. Other teams are welcome to the number one pick, I want Ravens to make an effort every game and fight for the win, because that's who I believe the Ravens are. There are still guys making a monster effort on the team. But what I hate and what makes me mad are the bonehead penalties. In retrospect, not even so much Doom, who was the only one to make an effort the last snap and I know it sometimes happens - you just stick your hand wrong and no matter how hard you try, you cannot pull it out in time. It's the late hits and unnecessary roughness that made me go mental.
  20. And you call yourself a fan? Sure, I believe a win is less likely the further down this season, but I still think it possible. What kills us is the penalties. It's obvious the guys aren't all on the same page. I saw some people play lights out as well. I'm sorry that Doom was the only one playing on that snap and that he grabbed Bortles wrong and lost them the game. But he was also the only one who played. He had 2 sacks. Lardarius Webb played lights out. Juice is without an argument the most impressive fullback in the league. Kamar Aiken stepped up bigtime, he was better than I expected. Our TEs all made the effort. Will Hill had a penalty for late hit, but apart from that, he's brilliant. Those are only the guys who played well. Again, what broke our back is the penalties.
  21. Since I just finished watching the game, I agree. Doom! Why?
  22. Congrats to Chris Givens for the quiet promotion. Please don't get me all excited about Flacco-Givens chemistry, before I see it torching the field. I don't think I could take the disappointment. Marlon Brown on the other hand... That is disappointing, because rookie year he had some very clutch moments and showed some promise. Not to be a star necessarily, but to be useful for sure. However, this year he looks like a waste of roster space.
  23. I think some of the rookies will step up. Also, as the season is progressing, they will draw more positive attention. Neither of the rookies mentioned is doing a bad job. They need to start doing a great job though.
  24. I think what Saxxin meant was at this point, if Ravens lose a single game, they are definitely out. A single loss now is the loss of season. Although extremely unlikely, because we'd have to win out AND some other AFC wildcard contenders would have to lose, at this point, the actual play offs aren't mathematically impossible.
  25. Turns out I was right, but I still feel horrible about it. This is a miserable way to go for him, whether just for the year or as the end of a career that is still to be seen, but either way. A player like Pitta should not have to go through this or this early. My hopes are, that it will improve still over time, but I am afraid, that as much as he would love to and as much effort he will continue to put into his rehab, it may not be possible again.
