  1. How old an inexperienced is Babin to be able to afford penalties like that? One cost us a touchdown. Browns would have punted if the penalty didn't give them a 1st down. I'll take the occasional error from a rookie, but Babin should know better. Za'Darius Smith over him anytime. The defense was sad to watch yesterday. A bright light out there was Jimmy Smith, who seemed to be where needed. What is it about our inside linebackers that made them look bad yesterday? Both Mosley and D. Smith are very smart players with quick wits and good tacklers. However, I've noticed a while back D. Smith isn't very fast. He gets beat on man-to-man. Seemed to me that was the problem with Mosley yesterday too. What's your take on it? As to offense, I like the way Trestman utilizes Juice, I like to see some fullback action and I've been noticing him the past two weeks doing good things. I like the way he hits even when he's carrying the ball. This one was on special teams, but I remember a similar one his rookie year, also against the Browns special team, that left the defender wobbling and falling over. Just a shame we didn't use our tight ends more yesterday. We have good ones that are physical and both Boyle and Williams have good hands. They had a quiet day on catches last night. But was glad to see they both did their job blocking.
  2. Or mine earlier when I said it makes most sense, if taking someone off PS to take the one who provides returner skills, but back-up WR as well if needed, considering our troubles. Or rather, Ozzie is a damn smart man who knows what he's doing
  3. Just pay the man! Before someone else does. Also, please don't jinx Forsett, of course I hope he completely burns the Browns. Would be nice. There are reasons why I like Marlon Brown, but he hasn't been showing a lot of that lately, so hopefully he does step up this game. Also, that Chris Givens is ready and has good natural chemistry with Flacco so that we're set for some touchdowns come Sunday and from then on.
  4. Never mind that 2/3 of TDs so far were scored by players not active for this week's game, I'm pretty sure we'll do alright. Love the walking dead analogy. Part of being a winning team is never giving up. 49ers will never lay their hands on Marshall Yanda. Ravens really won't let him go.
  5. I hate it when Sarah Ellison is late for work (pun intended). Her article is my fav and I wait for it all day.

I'm all for it ;) Send me a link and I'll support her. Her articles are funny and informative and the best overview of what's going on. Also, first thing to pop-up EST morning, meaning that I get to read them before I leave work in Europe, so looking forward to them all day.

I like Sarah Ellison. She does a good job. Yes, funny at times too. :) Good idea to make an appreciation thread for her. I am sure she will like that.

  6. Hopefully Givens is ready to play Sunday, not just to be on the active roster, but to be an asset and that he can bring the "Jacoby Jones at his finest" aspect to the game. Jacoby brought a lot of excitement and could really burn opposing players. I want to home that every catch is a touchdown and that every return could be a score. That's what I'll expect.

I agree, even SSS loves to block. I think you're right, Tate is better. I too don't like receivers who puts themselves above the team.

Or any player for that matter. Without a team he couldn't be a player. It's tough, but a team comes first. Of course, whenever we have a new linebacker with Harpies, I'm worried for my spot, but will still extend a helping hand, cheer their successes and work that much harder on myself.

  7. He looks good on highlights and if he can catch, then that could go a long way for us, not only throwing TD passes, but opening up the running lanes and easing up the blitz game. Also, his responses are funny I'm to add another fan favorite maybe. Glad someone mentioned Jacoby Jones, as opposed to Torrey Smith. That a skillset we are desperately lacking now.
  8. The black and pink will look fantastic! Gotta agree with Courtney Upshaw on that. Also, in my memory, donning the black means a win, so excited about that too. Such a shame they don't wear it more often, the black uniforms are impressive and intimidating.
  9. The quotes from the two tradeable receivers might be torn out of context, but based on those, please not Roddy White! Seems to have attitude issues. We don't need no primadonna. It's not comparable to the talk SSS has, because if you look at him, sure, he makes plenty catches, but when he doesn't he blocks like if his life depended on it, probably screaming "I'm Marshall Yanda!" in his head. Blocking is important and those players on the field that aren't currently carrying the ball need to learn to do it well and with pleasure. Good blocks are what helps yardage. Tate has a better attitude (based on the quotes in the article only), Ravens hate losing too. However, I doubt either will happen. Timmy Jernigan might have fallen to Carl Davis for two reasons: 1. Durability - he has had some issues with minor injuries 2. Discipline - the late hit on Derek Carr might have lost us the game. And it wasn't accidental or an oops error, that was deliberate. Apart from that, I like Timmy a lot. It's good that he has solid competition, it will make him earn his position in the line-up.
  10. Asa Jackson looks good once he's on the run and can be explosive and a difference maker, however, this is marred considerably by stupid decisions, that lead to fumbles, such as not calling a fair catch when he should have and in result losing the ball. I would be worried. Either use someone who is already on the roster, like Webb, Givens or Allen, or bring from the practice squad a receiver, of whom we are lacking, which would be Ross. Although, I'm not really in favor of using Webb, though he could do well - he's been playing well at CB this year, better than last season for sure and we know he's injury prone, so depth or not, he would be a loss.
  11. He looked fantastic against Steelers. I loved the speed, which helped contain Vick and Bell and also good hands and good reactions.
  12. Za'Darius Smith up for Rookie of the Week, Justin Forsett up for Ground Player of the Week and Justin Tucker up for Clutch Player of the Week. Not a bad field trip, was it? :)

Cool, anyone know the links which we fans can place a vote? Maybe you can mention it on one of news stories and provide a link for Ravens fans to vote. Looks like a good chance all 3 will win for week 4.

It's all on the NFL.com front page ;) Justin Tucker - can't imagine he wouldn't be a win. Watched the Justin Forsett highlights and they look even better than just watching him play. Za'Darius Smith made sure we didn't lose the game at least on one point (the Bell tackle not on the highlight reel), but not sure how much the unbiased football fan will notice.

  13. That's true. However, don't know of a four TE set where we could utilize them all at once and I think that Gilmore, Williams and Boyle have all shown good hands. It's the receivers you're worried about and unless Pitta wants to play receiver, then all the good he does us is keep the other TEs fresh by being in the rotation. He's a benefit to what the Ravens are already doing well, not a solution to a problem.
  14. Hope to have Gilmore back for the game. Getting the news out there on what's up with Perriman was so surprising I'm in shock. Did not expect information. Canty can do with some additional rest, he's a good player, but we do have a solid D-line and if he comes back, best if he's 100%.
  15. The "fix a wall" gif seems pretty accurate. Could work, right?
  16. A TE doesn't stretch the field the same way a WR can. Pitta is a tremendous player and his activation alone would be a morale boost to the Ravens, which in itself could help with wins. However, otherwise there is no major help in that as the three active TEs, Gilmore (who'll be back soon enough), Williams and Boyle are looking good! They made clutch catches and seem the right amount of tough. Not worried about our TE corps, with or without Pitta.
  17. Glad to have a healthy speedster on the roster. Hope he can suit up and rock it Sunday! Also really curious which of our guys will be the one to step up. I refuse to acknowledge that Ravens should pass on this season. If adversity is the right fertilizer for a Ravens campaign for Super Bowl, consider the field well fertilized.
  18. Get fit Camp! The next time I want to hear about you being injured is never. I really like the kid, he's a pleasure to watch, so I hope he becomes an asset next year and stays that way.
  19. If it's up to pain tolerance, my guess is Steve Smith Sr misses the Browns game and that's it. That's one tough (you know what I wanted to say)..! He has a long week now and another and then with extra padding my guess is that he will be active and take some snaps, tough if we have a receiver to step up his game, they will be reduced. Campanaro being injury prone truly is frustrating, not like the next guy, as that's always annoying, but because he truly looks good on the field and could do some damage. I would hope he overcomes this next season, but don't know how likely it is in a player who is susceptible to them up to this point.
  20. Hope he gets a good eyeball of Jabril Peppers for when he's available. Go Blue!
  21. Four broken ribs and the guy spent the rest of the game on the treadmill anyway, trying to get back on the field. IV last week in the middle of the game and still continues to play. I wish we had other players who want it so bad.
  22. Not Camp Not with Steve Smith out for a while too. I like Marlon Brown after a catch, but he has to learn to make them first.
  23. The terrible towel is for Steeler fan tears? I actually do feel sorry for Scobee. Too soft to watch interviews with the guy who just lost the game. Rick Wagner's tackle was a thing of beauty! Tucker is the man to pay, this is not the first game he has won the Ravens. I hope Camp in a wheelchair is just a precaution before the x-ray results. Can't have 3 promising WRs sidelined, Ravens are in WR hell as it is.
  24. Only one thing to do - next time you meet, school him like a little kid.
