  1. In fact, check out the balls on Juice, pushing it down the middle and lowering his shoulders! It's generally fun to watch him, because he has what I imagined an AFC North team should have - pure guts and hard nose.
  2. In what universe would you even consider it a bad call to score, especially when trailing, in Q4? That is seriously messed up. I'd say it's easy to have 20/20 vision after all is said and done, however, you don't know if they would have scored a TD on any play after that. Defense should have held, that's it.
  3. Yeah, that was an awesome play by Webb. I was really glad to see him make such a big play. In my opinion, he has gotten a lot of unjust criticism by fans this year. I think it's because he's been solid, but hasn't made the splashy plays. Pretty impressive for a defender to make the top 5 catches of the week! I'm with you on Webb. He wasn't perfect, but he's played solid this year. However, he's missed out on flashy plays so far, up to this one. But what a beauty!
  4. A very well written article. "I'd like to see someone go up to Yanda and suggest that he lacks passion for football. That would go well." -You and me both, John. You and me both.
  5. Though I'm not always a fan of Flacco, as he has made his fair share of boneheaded decisions, and sometimes he can be frustrating, I do like his demeanor. It doesn't necessarily give him tremendous entertainment value, but if you get subtle humor, you can appreciate him nevertheless. As to Ray, I have tremendous respect for him as a player. What he has accomplished on the field in the 17 years he played is phenomenal. Almost all the Ravens fans from where I am love the Ravens because of Ray originally. He's also great with inspiring passion in others, and his talks are so potent in energy, it's awe inspiring. However, at the same time, if you only take the words, they have no structure, and half the time make no sense. If you transcribe them, they lose almost 100% of their value, because they are somewhat about the impression and little about the message. In terms of coherence and sense, Reed over Lewis any day.
  6. I love his potential and his competitiveness! He will be tested this year, and I do not expect that he will have a perfect sheet to show for it, but he's doing more than well enough right now, and I can see him becoming even better over time.
  7. Morgan Cox as president, Benjamin Watson as VP, and Ed Reed as Secretary of State.
  8. Tavon Young was the surprise of the game. I love the kid!
  9. Bye week couldn't have come at a better time. I hope by the time we play the Steelers, Mosley will be back too and Stanley, Yanda will be back to full strength and the OL will have time to gel.
  10. Don't forget the late hit on Flacco, when he was already in the white. That and the facemask were most attrocious.
  11. Oh, how right you were! Tavon has had a solid game again. And watching yesterday was downright painful. I'm not sure what the Ravens need to do to be able to competitive this year. Too many things to even list. But at least get the OL fixed, or get Flacco playing in full body armor, because he's not going to live out the year with the protection he's been getting. Sure, he's playing badly, and inconsistently, and throwing off the mark even when there is no pressure. Hope the bye week is long enough to get Stanley and Yanda back and long enough to get Flacco out of the habit of playing scared.
  12. How exactly do you propose offense scores when Flacco is getting so beat up that for a moment I couldn't tell him apart from Ryan Tannerhill? We really really really need Yanda and Stanley back. And I'm not even talking about need them to win some games, I mean we need them so that by end of season there are no little Flacco orphans. He's a tough guy generally, but he was playing so scared it was cringeworthy.
  13. Well put. As soon as I heard that both Yanda and Stanley are ruled out, I got somewhat depressed. On defense, only one of four starters started for linebackers, but that's one unit that wasn't horrible. I like Orr. He performs generally well, even though he was supposed to prevent that touchdown. The others, especially Za'Darius Smith and Judon - there's A LOT of room for improvement, but I think they show some promise. I like Tavon Young! But we're quickly running out of DBs again this year. We were lucky to get #22 back so quick off a concussion, but then lost Young to ne and Webb to hamstring injury. DBs, OL, and WR drops are the major issues I am seeing.
  14. I'm all for Penalties being a healthy scratch this week!
  15. Have biggest complaint with penalties, and am not the first person on here. Zachary Orr played well, especially considering he was missing CJ. Jimmy Smith played big, it hurt that he was hurt. Wouldn't lay all the blame on Tavon Young, yes, he did get beat, but there were serveral other moments, where he came up big. Really need to do something about the OL. I want Stanley and Yanda back! Not sure what their injury status is. With Ronnie, I'd say patience - they keep telling us he could play, but we heard that already. He was wearing a walking boot not long ago. How often do you wear a walking boot when you have a minor boo-boo?
