  1. Here's the thing with Tucker- He's absurdly bad at M&T Bank Stadium at home from over 50. He's money on the road and is really great from inside 50, but you get him out past 50 at home and he's gonna miss.

He's 0-9 these past two years and 1-11 in his career from over 50 at home. That's really worrisome because he plays eight games in Baltimore and practices at M&T probably just about any time he wants. There should be no excuses to be better on the road than at home.

I wouldn't pay him elite kicker money when half his games are in a stadium where he's unreliable from distance.

exactly. and having a bad kicker at home is downright unacceptable. especially considering we were once a dominant team at the bank. tucker is absolutely worth the money he is now. not what he will be valued after seasons end.

  2. 3 points can be all the difference in the game of your offense stalls and can't get 6. Of course it takes a team effort but I think you're way misguided if you don't think a kicker makes a difference. How many games would we have lost these past few years without Tucker nailing 50+ yarders at the end of regulation? It's not the best year for him of course, but let's not pretend he hasn't been an integral part of this team.

Speaking of Hauschka, do you really want to go through a situation like that again? I'm glad he's found success elsewhere, but he was downright awful here.

    you make valid points.

  3. He definitely doesn't deserve to be the highest paid that's for sure. I'd pay him exactly what the 3rd or 4th highest paid kicker is making.

if he is willing to take a lower offering than the market, im all for keeping him. once he hits the 4 mill mark, which is almost inevitable.. its going to get questionable

  4. Says all it needs to say.  That's so far from true.

maybe my point went over your head.. remember steve hauschka? guess what team he plays for now and look at their success.

the success has nothing to do with him. it has something to do with the playmakers. get it?

  5. Tucker ain't going anywhere.  Even with his struggles this year, he's still one of the best kickers in the game.  Try to tell me a kicker doesn't matter when there are 3 seconds left on the clock in a game winning situation.

of course they matter. but theres about 30-31 kickers in the league that will make a kick with 3 seconds left.

a WR that will catch a gaming winning TD with 3 seconds left..  a safety or corner that will PICK the ball with seconds left when an opposing offense is threatening a comeback. a pass rusher that will sack a qb in crunch time. these type of players narrow down to 12 playoff teams.

try to tell me one player on this team thats capable executing any of those scenarios with confidence.

  6. Tucker is a Raven he helps win games and is one of the better kicker in the league. It's not just that but his personality along  with his swag just fits so well with what  The Raven do and love. The Raven may lack talent in areas where it matters most but keeping players that give the team swag and character is very important which is something Tucker does.

Sure, hes got swag, but its not helping the team at all. It all boils down to talented players at skilled positions. Thats more important at this phase of the franchise and the league. The days of relying on defense, running and kicking are over. Just because a kicker has swag doesnt mean he should be paid 4-  5 mill a year. Thats way too much for a kicker considering all other positions the organization needs filled.

Just sayin i wouldn't be surprised if they let him go, it would make sense.

  7. Wouldnt be surprised if the organization let tucker go. Hes replaceable and spending the kind of money on him that will be demanded in the market is a complete waste. We need to spend money on the skilled positions. This team is completely lacking talent in the areas where it matters most.

Im happy we locked up sam koch, hes more important.

  8. People are holding Calvin Johnson waayyy too high on a pedestal. Hes good, but his best days are most likely behind him. Hes got some playing years left that could compliment Aiken and Perriman nicely as someone else mentioned.

After cuts, trades, restructuring and other offseason financial maneuvers, there is definitely a chance he can go to the Ravens, as well as any other team. No way he gets the same deal hes currently in on any of the 32 teams. People all over this board constantly hold certain players in a different realm and act likes it impossible they could play in purple. Just restructuring Flaccos contract alone could do serious damage (in a good way) for the offseason.

  9. I'm starting to sour even more on Aiken. He's being force fed the ball which is inflating his numbers and disappeared from games when we actually had a competent WR corps in 2014. He's nothing more than a 6 to me. 5 at best.

i can agree with this. when aiken is the #1, the playbook adjusts to his framed skill set which can only work for a game against a defense after the first or second week SSS is out. but when we need a burner to compliment SSS hes non existent. push him back to 3 or 4 and hes a mediocre possession receiver at best. he can be legit with the right weapons around him which is a rarity these days.

  10. im cool as a cucumber. but for 4 pages now people are like "PFFFT hes nothing more than a number 3 you noobs!" duh, thats what i said in the op and you joined in on it.

do people just read the title and post without even reading the topic post?

people on here read the op and completely understand what type of player kamar aiken is. stop getting insecure and sensitive when you make a thread about kamar aiken when people tell it like it is

  11. We still won't have the money to sign an Alshon Jeffery or take on Calvin's contract, but we could definitely snag a cap casualty like Garçon, DeSean, Vincent Jackson, Roddy or Mike Wallace. We don't need a superstar WR, we just need a reliable and competent cast like Joe had in 2012.

would def be cool with any of those WRs you mentioned.

  12. Not how this front office operates. We don't participate in FA, we sit back while all the big names and top players get new contracts and then we bargain hunt and go after cap casualties. It's annoying at times but that's how the front office does things, I can guarantee you we won't be in the market for a #1 WR on the unrestricted market.

yes, we all know ozzie closes his blinds and naps during the off season. but they will go after a WR,  guarantee it. it was easily one of our biggest and most blatant holes on the team since week 1. no way we completely put all the investment in perriman.

  13. Even with the restructure, we wont gave enough cash for a game changing wr. We will go back to the bargain bin again, unfortunately. Why do you think the tean is going to beg a 37 year old steve smith coming off an achilles tear to hold off retirement?

this post makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

  14. This front office has never cared about having a true #1 WR so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Best case scenario for WR we trade back and take Treadwell or go after Boyd/Doctson with our 2nd. There's no money for a free agent #1 WR, will tell you right now that's not happening. I've wanted us to secure a true #1 WR for years now and the front office disappoints me every year, at least they spent a 1st round pick there last year, I'll give them credit for that.

I still think Perriman will be impressive when he finally get's to play next year

restructure joes contract, use that money to snatch a WR

    0

  15. You're right. He's more like a 4 or 5, but the front office likes going to the bargain bin for WR's so I'm just saying don't be shocked

ya know, if it was any other past year i would agree.. but I think our front office has finally learned its lesson that the NFL is now a passing league. if it doesn't, then sigh.

but youre right. theyll probably be satifisied with aiken, givens, and perriman. oh good god that would be awful.

  16. You can say that again. The guy played better than most people thought he would have. It has just been a tough season all the way around From the Perriman injury then Suggs went down after that  SSS, Forsett and Flacco  guys going on IR it seems like almost every week. Clausen is who he is and with what shape the Ravens roster is in right now he played pretty darn good. It just is what it is and the players are playing their best it just is not the Ravens year. I can guarantee that Clausen DID NOT LOSE THE GAME FOR US. Like you said "Let's give him one more game to see if there is any improvement."

wha?? what game were you watching? he was missing open WR's left and right. looked lost most of the game. cant use the injuries excuse. our receivers played decent and got open, clausen couldn't deliver and was wildly inconsistent.

dude is 1-12 for a reason..
