yup. people quickly forget that rice was the best player on our offense, and arguably top 5 playmakers in the league from '09- '12. it is also arguable that the 4th and 29 play against SD was possibly the most important play during our super bowl season, right up there with the mile high miracle bomb to jacoby.

love gurley. would be great to have someone of that magnitude running the rock out of our back field. ive been waiting for an athletic, big and dominant physical back to join this team since jamal left. the value of good RB's in the NFL is becoming extremely underrated. gurley will be something special if he stays healthy. i'll admit, this past offseason i said we should trade up in the draft and snatch melvin gordon. kinda glad we didnt.

our front 7 is actually good, probably the best part of the team (which isnt saying much). and we can still stop the run game for the most part. we just simply dont have any pass rushers. we need to focus more on the back 4 if anything. and draft pass rush early or hit a young FA. we will be looking for a suggs replacement no doubt.

1. of course you do 2. of course you do 3. the whole "you dont sign RB to long term contracts" is a new philosophy that just started within the past few seasons because the nfl is bending rules in favor of pass happy QBs to increase tv ratings. you must be a newer NFL fan. smart teams with solid RBs still take care of their RBs. look no further than the seahawks. 4. if we wait till his contract is up then get rid of him it wont be a 100% loss. if we get rid of him now its dead money. 5. you need to own what you write. you mentioned something about a QB being benched until he matures but didnt make it clear if you were talking about a second string or flacco himself. neither scenario makes sense considering flacco is entering his prime years. 6. wait, SSS is retiring after this year??? i had no idea!! yawn. and no, getting rid of SSS is not "the right thing to do".

true.. but most top notch, consistent organizations do this. offseason champs usually have losing records come playoff time. its actually a smart move when it comes to value and taking care of organizational players, unless the team REALLY needs to fix more than one position. problem is we had holes on all 3 phases of the game this past off-season, and basically rolled the dice in the draft to fix all the problems, which obviously didnt work out. as i mentioned earlier in this thread, ozzie has been rolling the dice and its finally caught up to him. hes been sitting at the same black jack table for far too long and his luck has run out. and it doesnt help that hes stubborn and wont make any radical changes to his management philosophy.

ozzie rolls the dice every offseason. he was winning for a while there then got too hot, burnt out, and now the house (being the rest of the league) is winning. funny though how "ravens fans" were calling ozzie a genius and kissing the ground he walked on for the past 10-15 years (specifically remember this after signing arrington for the most recent example), and now because we have a losing season people are saying hes a bum and needs to be fired. it amazes me. as i always say, ravens fans are the most spoiled in the NFL and are notorious for knee jerk reactions.

lmao. he got benched in the 3rd quarter. game was not close to over at all. if you think he was benched to keep him from getting injured then lol. theres been MANY first overall picks that have been benched, traded, cut, etc. and jim caldwell isnt going to come out and stir the media by telling them theres a "qb controversy" in his locker room. thats the last thing he needs at being 0-5 is the media riding up his bleep with new questions regarding the QB situation, although they already are to some extent because of the benching. dont need to make things worse. EDIT: it was 28-7 when stafford got pulled, not 35-0. and stafford said himself after the game he was benched because of the interception he threw to peterson.

matt elam was really that bad, no DC can coach him how to stop playing soft and missing tackles.

are you saying we actually stand a chance winning against the niners? why is that? we just lost to oakland and clevelend, its pretty much to the point now where "the chance" of winning is thrown out the window no matter who we face. san fran will probably take this one. i can see kapernick and carlos hyde running all over us. san fran 35 bmore 23

I think youre talking eric weddle up a little much. hes not THAT good. and v jax would be a decent pickup but hes old. we need some young guys on the receiver squad that are actually good and can run routes.

and people were wondering why we didnt put babin on the field the first 2 weeks after we signed him. it was pretty evident today that we are so desperate we played him anyway and look what happened. smh.

this. that vick game was just sloppy and we got super super lucky cause of their kicker. if roesthlisberger played we wouldve lost 48-20 and be looking at 0-5. i wont be surprised at all if we go 3-13 this season.
