Flacco is by far the greatest QB the Ravens have ever had. I didn't like the contract either but what was to be expected after he had possibly the greatest playoff run in nfl history. If you run through manning and Brady on the road and win the SB you are going to get paid. He always responds under pressure. AFC north still wide open. I bet many of you that hate him so much probably turned the tv off during that Broncos divisional game. You can call it luck or whatever you want -- Flacco went out there and won that game. Always remember ?
Wow a True Raven Fan Bravo!
Yes I will agree that Flacco was the best quarterback the Ravens ever had but that's not really saying much. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl too. A lot of not so good QB's have won the Super Bowl. I just think he has been in Funk forever and we are still dealing with Offensive issues. Flacco is Not the best Quarterback that Baltimore has ever had though I will tell you that. Johnny U is my man!
Honestly do we have any Pro Bowlers? Even our one and only Mr Yanda isn't having a Pro Bowl year.
That ain't Jack, whats your point?
and the 9ers are 1-6, LOL.
Flacco is a back-up Qb at best.
This guy obviously doesn't watch the Browns, Rams, Bears, or Texans. Clue: tune in tonight and see if you want either of these guys over Joe.
I almost want anybody not named Joe Flacco. Get real he is ranked 28th. Not really a long fall to 32nd in the league. How much worse can you really get?
It's hard enough to play the position when you are fully healthy.
Especially for Far Below Average Joe!
Slinging Mud. I bet you would like Kyle Boller Back Huh?
We didn't pay Kyle Boller anything compared to Joe. We certainly don't need Joe's perfect impersonation of Kyle Boller with what we are paying him either. In fact we can go get a new quarterback that sucks too for a fraction of the cost.
In hockey when the goalie sucks and is a sieve they pull em. Any other team would have pulled the QB but we are paying so much money it will have to be blatantly embarrassing for them to do it. Although he isn't far off. Crash and burn.
The Steelers are one game ahead of us. Yeah, theyre tearing up the league.
Let's revisit this at the end of the year shall we? They've just played a tougher schedule thus far and still have a better record. I've seen most of their games in their entirety and they are a much better team than us. They still have the best WR and RB in football and a borderline elite QB.
I hate the Steelers as much as anyone but they have clearly surpassed us. They're a team with enough talent to make some noise in the playoffs.
At least Ben can hit his receivers something Flacco hasn't been able to do even when not being pressured. As much as I HATE to admit it, Ben is a better QB and seems to be tougher than Flacco. The Steelers always draft good receivers in any round unlike the Ravens. They also have better running backs. It is just sad the state of affairs we find ourselves in this year.
This is what you get when you only draft high character guys, high character losers. Need the people to get down and dirty and are hungry. Just don't think we have hungry guys.
They can make all the Excuses they want I am not buying it. Not drinking the purple kool aid either. Joe has gotten (2) Offensive Coordinators fired and the problem still persists. Let's see if Mallete can do a better job when Joe starts sucking and throwing off his back foot sit him and let's someone else have a try.
Joe Flacco 6-19 when passing 40 plus attempts.
Hello, Hello... Run the dang ball. Stay committed to the run. Smashmouth football our true identity. 30x a game
Thats why Joe gets hit too much. Chuck&duck offense. Read it again 6-19 when throwing 40 plus times in a game.
Run it and staying committed to running it, keeps defense honest, keeps our defense fresh, and keeps time of possession on our side, limits turnover chances
Somebody take notice other then fans
Maybe if we had Elite running backs which we don't and haven't for quite some time we could run the ball better? We can't run and Joe can't throw go figure. Really is becoming embarrassing.
Joe is 27-27 since signing his big contract. Elite he is NOT. Elite QB's don't need a tee shirt with their face on it to be elite. Why the uproar now? He has been sucking the last 4 years since the Super Bowl. The Offense has stalled all of those years and the problem is nothing new just worse this year. We are not going anywhere. The problem existed prior to Joe's injury so for me that is not an excuse.
Joe is the common denominator the last 4 years. The Offense has always bogged down and been inconsistent and this is nothing new. It is time to sit Joe when he is sucking and let's see what the other guy can do.
The sun rises and sets on the QB and it is showing BIG TIME! And I thought that other pass was batted down at the line but nope it was thrown into the dirt! And that FLOP with no one around him should be enough evidence to all that keep blaming the O line and Harbs! It's time for a change! Sincerely The Troll smh
PS my week is screwed again because I eat and sleep Ravens football! It's time for a change and Mallet needs to start to save the season or it will be more excuses and unnecessary finger pointing! Smhmallett isnt the answer either. the roster is talent deficient. ozzie, decosta and the scouts are to blame. harbs and his poor selection of position coaches are to blame as well. bisciotti needs to slam his fist into the wall or table and demand better from these guys
Man please Joe is making everyone look bad! Now people talking about Ozzie and Co and and that sounds pathetic! The man did a flop and then threw a pass in the dirt and missed WRs on crucial 3rd downs and Ozzie and Co and Harbs are not the ones throwing the ball!
Joe is done and we are stuck with him! Mallet will win his first game and Joe will be history but like I said we stuck with him! This is the NFL and Joe can't handle pressure like i see other QBs do on a weekly basis! This is a good football team being lead by a QB that can't cut it anymore! Joe needs to be benched ITS ON FILM! SMH
I have thought the same thing for years. Joe is now 27-27 since Super Bowl. Not playing Up to the contract. From 1st to last in 4 years. Sad
Come on, let's call it like it is. The problem is Flacco. I'd love to see a ranking of QBs based on yards after the catch, particularly for throws over 15 yards. Some of that, of course, has to do with the receiver, but if you can hit the WR in-stride, he's going to get 5-10 yards after the catch pretty easily. But, if you throw it 4 feet over his head or 2 feet behind him so he has to make a ridiculous move to even have a shot at the ball (and then get clobbered), you get no extra yardage. Now, you can say, we won a SuperBowl with those throws, and you're right. But, it's because we had Boldin standing on his head to make those catches. And then we let him go and gave Flacco $100 million. We should have kept Boldin and sold Flacco high.
The other problem with Flacco is that he is not a student of the game. When Peyton Manning was playing, they would show him on the sidelines after each drive and he would be reviewing pictures of defensive formations and talking with his receivers. Every time they show Flacco on the sidelines, he's on the bench by himself staring into space. He's not continuously striving to improve his game...and hasn't.This is spot on correct. Flacco has always been this way. Derrick Mason got so frustrated with him one game in Carolina that he literally assaulted him on the field. How many times have you seen that? Not excusing mason's actions, but it was telling. Ed Reed knew what Flacco was about too and called him out. Look, Flacco got hot at the right time. Even in that Super Bowl year, we lost 3 of our last 5 games. Cam Cameron was fired. Joe got hot in the playoffs (it was great) and then its been right back to the same old average QB play. He's never been a Pro Bowl player. In 9 years. That says something.
Totally agree. I thought for sure we would see some kind of development and year after year there isn't any and this year it seems like he is fundamentally flawed.
Finally an honest review of Flacco! He has sucked and can't blame O-Line entirely for his play.
I see alot of improvement with this OC. I saw we threw the ball downfield that when it doesn't always mean a completion, we saw Perriman go up and get one, we saw Wallace grab one, and we saw some PI calls, so I don't think it was a total loss. We also ran alot more, at least in attempts and had stretches of success. However, I feel there is only one important point to this whole game. Flacco.
What is it with him? I have said it before here and on twitter, "cool" shouldn't be mistaken for lack of effort. When you are at the end of the game, and everyone is hustling and the QB just walks up to the line like he has all the time in the world, its a problem. Then just zones out and doesn't even look at the play clock. I know he knows how to, and can run, his knee is fixed, so I don't get the lack of effort, not only at the end of the game, but during the game as well. He looks like he would rather be somewhere else and is playing like it. Just totally oblivious to the fact that Wallace was out on the right with no one on him for 20 yards and we only needed 25 for a TD. Had he not overthrown him, it would have been a first down on the 3 or 4. Same with the bloop over the top throw he made with Wallace and Pitta both behind their defenders and he lobbed it 50 feet in the air, nowhere near them. Flacco got Trestman fired with his lack of effort, if I am Harbaugh, I am realizing that I am next if someone doesn't light a fire under Flacco. Perhaps a little effort might help him with his inconsistency as well. Since Flacco's knee injury he is almost acting like that is his excuse for not trying to avoid a rush, or not move faster than a snail.
At this point in time, with the line issues we have we need a mobile QB. Of course, Tyrod is gone, and when we had the chance to secure Josh Johnson, who would fit in real nice right now, we decided Ryan Mallett of all people is a good backup for Joe.
I am all for sitting Flacco the next time he goes through on of his inconsistent, pouting fits. The end of the game reminded me of when Cameron used to run a wildcat and Flacco would just stand out there with his hands on his hips. When questioned he said it was "Harry High-School" stuff. Maybe he needs to sit some plays, run some wildcat or bring Mallett in for a couple plays. Joe needs something to get him motivated. For the money he is making I expect a whole lot more than we are getting and if we aren't getting it, then lets get someone else in there.
I agree Joe needs to either play better or sit. How long will we have to endure his bad performances?
Isn't Harbs favorite saying by committee or next man up? Tired of watching Flacco give games away. Misses wide open receivers, constantly gets sacked on 3rd and long because he refuses to toss the ball away. And what's with the casual walk to the line of scrimmage with 48 seconds left a no time outs??? Pathetic. Like normal Ravens fashion, start the game on fire and come out of halftime forgetting how to play football! We should have had their defense worn out!
You forgot to mention Flacco's 2 Delay of Game penalties, Zero's in on Pitta when West is wide open and easier throw.
At least this L will clear out the bandwagon fans.
Although I may criticize they still are My Team! This just helps me deal with the pain of losing.
The offense was still horrible. If we throw 40 to 50 times that is a losing formula.
Two short fields from turnovers and two TD's. What else am I missing?
We are a middle of the pack team at best.
No, I think we are lower than that. More towards the bottom. Thinking a top ten pick if things don't improve.
We didn't win the first one after Cam was fired either.
Yeah but we sure as hell had a better O-line with Cam than what poor Marty has now. Again, Flacco is the Offensive Coordinator Killer! He gets a pass and they lose their jobs cause he sucks.
It's looking like the Cleveland game may be the only game the rest of the season where the Ravens are favored, and, even then, only because we would be the home team. The team has more than just 5 issues to rectify.
Agree
Eventually we will have to take a hard look at Flacco. Are we better off with him or without him? We are definitely over paying for past performances which is something the Ravens say they never do? All you have to do is look at the Eugene Monroe contract.
Ineptness comes to mind when talking about the Ravens Offense. So tired of the Offense going into a shell which has been the MO for years. Slow starts, 3 and outs, stupid penalties, over throws/under throws. When will it change?
The Ravens culture is dead. We seen what a good coach could do with this team. There alot of bad players on this team or badly coached players
Goes back to whiffing on Draft picks
If i'm not mistaken our record since winner the super bowl we are... W21-L24. A below average team.
No, we are 27-26 at least with Flacco since the Super Bowl

Well Flacco hasn't been pulling off the come from behinds this year. It's his fault anyway because the Offense stalls every game this year. He is the general and personally I think he has been sucking. Don't get me wrong I like Flacco as a person but he is just not playing well. It's my opinion nothing more. We were supposed to have so many weapons? The best group of wide receivers he has ever had and can't utilize them.
