  1. starters? Stanley will definitely start. Correa will definitely start, allowing Dumerville to come in during passing situations. Kaufusi could start, but he probably won't. Guy was awesome last year and it's his job to lose. Young could start at Nickle CB, he will have to beat out Davis and Arrington. Last year Davis played great until he got hurt, so we'll see. Moore will get some reps, but he's the 5th receiver. Lewis could start at LG, but probably won't. They could keep Monroe at LT and put Stanley at LG, or if they cut Monroe they could put Urschel or Jenson at LG. Jenson graded out off the charts last year, so Lewis probably won't start. We definitely have 2 starters, maybe 3 or 4
  2. Moore will be a good addition to our WR unit. I actually read, in more than one place, that Moore was our worst pick. Not overall, but value and round. I don't know what these people are talking about. Moore is an excellent receiver, and getting him in the 4th was perfect. I wonder how Ochi did. I was pushing for us to take him in the 7th, so I was happy that we signed him after he went undrafted. I still can't believe we passed on Scooby Wright in the 7th round? I was yelling and screaming to take him, but nope. Same thing happened with Burfict, and we let him slip away. Ahh, we'll see. I think we had a great draft overall. Not a lot of playmakers, but some good players that will help solidify our roster
  3. Rob Gronkowski was taken in the 2nd round 2010, right before Sergio Kindle. And then we took Dennis Pitta in the 4th (whom would be a pro bowl level player and had a great career if not for his freak leg injuries). That 2010 draft was a pretty bad one overall and a rare one filled with a lot of misses. In the 6th round they did get Arthur Jones who flashed here and then got a big contract with Indy and suffered a nasty injury in pre season last year. We know what happened to Kindle, Cody flopped, David Reed never did much, and Harewood had injury issues. Jones was a 5th round pick, but I get your point. But the chance of a guy being a bust increases as the rounds go by. Sure you can get a gem in the later rounds, and a bum in the early rounds, but more early round guys will be hits and more later round guys will be busts. That's just how it is. You can't be certain, nothing's guaranteed, but you can have a pretty good idea overall.
  4. They don't need a starter. Suggs and Doom wasn't going to lose their job no matter who they picked. I doubt even Bosa would of done that. This was a brilliant move by Ozzie. These two will learn under two of the best for a year and THEN be starters. I seriously dount anyone they drafted on defense would be a day one starter. Our D is set and is a hell of a lot better than last years. Ozzie is drafting for the future. Like the good teams do. Our D is set? Who's are starting ILB next to Moseley, Orr or McClellan? An ILB in rounds 2 or 3 could have competed and started from day 1. Maybe Scooby is our first pick in the 4th, he could start, maybe. I like Orr, but he's a run stuffing back and we need a fast back that can drop into coverage and cover these TEs. A CB in round 2 or 3 could have started over Wright or at Nickle. Our D might be set now, but it wasn't before the 2nd round.
  5. There is no way we take Elliot that early, and Kiper must be high if he seriously thinks that's a possibility. We have old OLB's, one who's coming off an injury. We need a starting CB to pair with Smith, Wright could do it if need be. We also need a starting ILB with speed. We are so deep at RB that there is no need to draft one this year, and Elliot no matter how good he is, is definitely not 6th pick good. As for LT, I say we stick with Monroe. When he's healthy he's a good, solid player, and he's healthy this year. Plus, we have too much money tied up in him to just cut him. Even if we push it back to after July 1st, that's 4.4 mill in dead money next year. It's not worth it. However, if he Ravens think Tunsil is a franchise LT, then take him. You have to. But I would prefer a defensive player, because that's what we need. In order, Ramsey, Jack, Bosa, then Buckner. But I'd be happy with any of them.
  6. If Spence is there when we pick in the 2nd round, I will be so amped. If he is, the Ravens better take him. I'm hoping we can get Jack in the 1st round. We need an ILB that can cover these TE. Over the last couple years I've been so tired of seeing Lewis and Smith, and even Mosely trailing a TE as he goes across the middle. Jack is fast enough to stay with them and big enough to come up and stuff gaps. We also need a CB and a OLB, so Spence in the 2nd would be awesome. Then you could go CB in the 3rd, and then get your backup OL, a WR, and some DL help in the 4th. When I make my mock roster, I have 7 open spots, I don't know how our 2 6th round picks our going to make it on this team, everything being even.
  7. I've been saying this all off season, watch out how much money your spending. The Weddle signing was awesome and worth it. Time will tell on the others. However, we have to sign Williams and Tucker to long term deals. They are huge playmakers. Then you have Juzczyk and Wagner. Personally, I'd rather keep Jusz over Wagner but, we might lose them both. Guy is also a FA next year, he's a solid DL that will probably start this year. Hopefully, Cass can work his magic.
  8. When I first heard this, I was outraged. He's the best SS we have. I know cutting him would save us 3 million in cap space, but he's worth the money. But then I heard about the 10 game suspension. Now it makes sense. The money you save, for a guy who can only play 6 games, plus it frees up the log jam at he position. I understand why they did it. I like Hill and I hope he does well going forward.
  9. I am a little worried about how much money were spending, and here's why. First let me say that I am aware the cap will go up next year, but by how much. By reworking Yanda and Smith, you caused there cap hits next year and the year after to go up. The reason I bring this up is 3. Next year we have 3 big FA and all of them are arguably in the top 3 at their position. Justin Tucker, Brandon Williams, and Kyle Juszczyk. They are going to cost some money to resign, but they are must sign players. 2 other players that are FA next year are Wagner and Guy. Both good players, but expendable in the big picture. We have a great front office, and one of the best book keepers in Moriarty, I just hope hey know what there doing. Weddle is an upgrade and a good signing, but I'd pass on Wallace unless you get him cheap, and I don't see that happening.
  10. Yes, this is easy. First, cut Walker. I don't know why Ozzie keeps drafting these small school project players. Second, Webb plays in the slot. Sorry Webb, Maybe you can play Safety next year. That gives you 5 CB (Smith, Wright, Webb, Davis, Arrington), you get another in the draft. Next, the Safeties. First, cut Kendrick Lewis. You save a little money and he just isn't good. You play Weddle at FS and Hill at SS, with Elam and Brooks as your backups. Now if Levine looks good in camp, you could find a spot for him. You can also save money by cutting Elam. I know you hate to give up on a 1st round pick, but you have to keep the best guys.
  11. Osemele does get injured often. He also grades out way below Yanda , so if you want to pay him as the 10th best G, that's fine. But paying him too Tackle money is ludicrous. He graded out negatively as a LT last year, especially in pass rush situations. Top 10 tackle ? He's not even a top 10 Guard. He is a great player and we will miss him, but you have to be realistic when it comes to the salary cap. That's why I'm all for giving Monroe 1 more year. When he's healthy, he's solid. He's coming into this year healthy, so it's worth it to keep him. The dead money if we cut him is just to much.
  12. I don't know why everyone is so down on Monroe. In Jacksonville he was an above average LT. We trade for him, and his first year here he played above average. We signed him to a multi year deal. Was it a little high, yes. But that was he market. Since then he has had some injuries that kept him out, but when he plays, he's solid. People act like he's a bum when he plays and that's not accurate. If we cut him, your looking at like 6 million in dead money, after June 1st you can split it, 2 this year and 4 next year (numbers aren't exact), but that's a lot. Because don't forget, Pitta will be cut after June 1st so that's 4.4 million in dead money next year. If you cut Monroe too, that's over 8 million in dead money next year between those two. That's unacceptable. The best move is to keep Monroe and hope he stays healthy and turns in a solid year like he did in 2013. If he doesn't, then you can cut him next year.
  13. Our number one need is CB. Followed by a pass rusher. After that it's a toss up between FS and WR. We need a shutdown CB, especially if we move Webb to FS. If we have Hill and Webb at SS and FS, and a healthy Smith at CB. We just need another lock down CB. With Suggs coming off injury and no depth behind him and Dumerville (Z. Smith is ok) we need another OLB who can get to the QB. If we move Webb to FS that will answer that question. As for WR, with Smith coming back, and Perriman healthy, along with Aiken, we have some WRs. We still need to draft one, but it's not as urgent. This draft is deep with WRs, we can get one in the 3rd round. After that we need an ILB, DL, and a OT.
  14. The Ravens have 4 players that should make the Pro Bowl. P Sam Koch, FB Kyle Juszczyk, DT Brandon Williams, and OL Marshal Yanda. If they don't go, something is wrong.
  15. Davenports prediction listed above, has us winning our 3 road games and losing all 5 of our home games. Jacksonville - W St. Louis - W Cleveland - W Miami - W Seattle - L Kansas City - W This game is 50/50. We got Home Field, but they're a dink and dunk team with a good TE, those teams give us problems. It's literally anyone's game. 50/50. Pittsburgh - W Cincinnati - L
  16. Ozzie really needs to reconsider drafting from these small schools. Ever since he got lucky with Webb, he's gone back to the small school well again and again. I know it's not all on Ozzie, that we have a whole team of scouts, but Oz has to put his foot down. If we get a high draft pick, then be safe. Don't take chances, at least not until the latter rounds. Needs are: CB, OLB, WR, FS. For most of those positions, we need multiple picks. We might want to get a WR through FA, considering on draft history (we might need two depending on how Perriman turns out). But CB and OLB need multiple picks, and we need a playmaking FS with range. This will be one draft Ozzie can't afford to get wrong.
  17. Remember 2013, Joe got sacked 50 times and threw a lot of interceptions. The reason, an awful O-line and no receivers. Dejavu. Teams are smart. They know we have no receivers, so they are blitzing. Joe has to force throws cause our WRs can't get open. He also has to do it under constant pressure. I don't blame Joe. Even with that, the Defense is the unit that lost us 2 games. Trestman has to call plays that take advantage of the blitz. Leave a TE or a RB back to chip and help block. More play action. I blame the coordinators more then the players. If the average fan can see what's going on, why is it taking so long for the coaches to see it?
  18. Is that what it is a 2017 pick? We've already traded away a couple later round picks for 2016, another one would be out of character for Ozzie. But a 2017 pick, 7th or 6th round is not bad as long as he can contribute.
  19. Bell rushed for over 100 yards breaking our streak, but it took overtime to do it. After regulation he had 96 yards. But it should have been less, there was a missed holding call on Bells TD run. How do yo miss a guy being tackled and dragged to the ground? When someone rushes for 100 yards in regulation, then they will have broken our record in my eyes. An extra quarter is a lot of time to work with. Anyone can rush for 100 yards given 5 quarters. That's only 20 yards a quarter.
  20. Finally, the Defense does it's job. Better late than never. I still think Pees needs to go. Trestman better tighten his game up too, his play calling was horrific. This is a bad year for Joe, just like 2013. Awful pass protection and no WR's. That means Joe has to force throws in order to make plays. Trestman has to adjust and call quick passes and more play action. Even with those flaws were still in games because we're a good team. But we will lose some heartbreaker if we don't adjust. If we can get to 4-4 by the bye well be in good shape. But that means beating Cleveland, San Francisco, and either Arizona or San Diego. I think we can do it.
  21. The Broncos game. SSS dropped the TD pass, and Gilmore had his hands on the ball. How is that on Joe? The Oakland game. The offense came back and got us the lead. With 2 minutes left, the Defense let Oakland drive the whole field and score a TD. He had 26 seconds and no Timeouts to score. That's on the Defense, not Joe. The Cincinnati game. Joe and the offense gave us two leads and the defense gave it right back. Osemele had the penalty that negated the first down and Joe took his only shot and Williams had his hands on it. Again, that's on the Defense not Joe. O-line penalties hurt us too. Joe and SSS are the only ones keeping us in games.
  22. The last 2 weeks? This has been going on for 2 and a half years. I'd fire Pees now and send a message. But it won't happen unless it comes from Ozzie or Steve, because Harbaugh doesn't have the balls.
  23. I think it's time to get rid of Dean Pees. I'm tired of seeing the defense give our games away. This isn't new, it's been going on for 3 years now. Last year we overcame it because we had a solid offense. But blown coverages, big plays, missed tackles, and a lack of turnovers is what a Dean Pees defense seems to be. Look at our players, we have a solid D-line, even this year. Great ILB, and our secondary has good players. J. Smith is a top ten CB, Webb has looked better this year and is a decent CB, Hill graded out as a top 10 safety last year. Yes we have a lack of depth at OLB and DB, but with the players we have we shouldn't be this bad. That leaves the Defensive Coordinator. On offense it's simple, a lack of playmakers. We have 1 receiver. But Trestman needs to see that and look to the TE more. How does a running game completely disappear when you have the same O Line and RB as last year? How many penalties is this O-Line going to make? Trestman has had awful play calling in short yardage and 3rd down situations. How does Harbaugh continue to suck at challenges and time management. No Babin again? Fire Pees and send a message, or throw in the towel.
  24. The throw to SSS should have been caught. The throw to Gilmore, while a little under thrown should have been caught as well. If you have both hands on the ball, you have to bring it in. He's bigger and stronger, you have to be aggressive. As far as Joe, when the pocket is collapsing that much you have to speed up your throws. The couple times the Line held up can't be anticipated. I thought Joe played about as well as his teammates allowed him to play. His first interception is on him. SSS could have fought more for the inside, but that's mostly on Joe. Defense looked great, ST looked great. But if we can't run the ball, were in for a long season, especially with receivers that can't get separation. Trestman better adjust, and fast.
