On another note, we're 12-4. Some other team (not in the NBA) could also be 12-4, but I just can't put a finger on what team it is. I'll figure it out....eventually.
Add one to the win column and subtract one from the loss side, and you have the Raptors' current record. And they get the talent-less (save for Kobe) Lakers tonight. And the Raptors don't have DeMar DeRozan tonight, due to that adductor longus... whatever-it-was tear. I feel that Hansborough, Lou (Williams) and Vasquez might be among those who'll step up tonight and blow the Lakers out of the water.
Another OT loss for my Caps and 20 seconds to go to a shootout.
I feel you, man. A kick in groin spot for my Leafs, almost the same way as well.
I went to a Penguins Game in Pittsburgh, they were playing the Hurricanes and I wore my Capitals jersey. They all looked at me like I was crazy, especially when I yelled "O" during the national anthem.
Big Caps fan but is it ever going to be their year?
I will root for any team playing the Penguins
Favorite player of all time............definitely Bob Probert!
Welcome to my world as my Leafs take on the Penguins on the road tonight! Toronto has been pretty hot as of late, winning two straight since the two blowout losses last week and "Salute-gate" (where after their win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, they didn't salute to their fans, which some people called them 'classless' or other negative things, but they did salute after beating down Detroit).
As for the Caps, I think it could be, based on their players and how they are playing thus far (3rd in the Metropolitan). If they keep going strong, they might find themselves back in the postseason.
Ah... Bob Probert. I remembered watching a fight on the ice via a tape from the '95 season (don't know who he fought), and I remembered that it was a long tussle but a good one.
Hey, everyone. I've seen threads about the other sports, so I'd figure I start one about the National Hockey League.
To kickstart it...
1) Who's your favourite team? (I live and bleed blue for the Toronto Maple Leafs)
2) Which team you believe is their year for the Stanley Cup?
3) What do you think about some of the games every night? Or certain ones that strike your mood this season?
Fire away.
Eyeing the Raptors game on a second screen (am watching the Maple Leafs hockey game against the Red Wings), but I saw the Keys to the Game and they're exactly what I'm thinking (almost) against the Cavs.
In addition, Toronto has got to get a high rebound margin, and sharing and taking care of the basketball.
I feel really good about tonight with the 10-2 Raptors going toe-to-toe against the 5-6 Cavaliers. I mentioned before that the Cavs seem very beatable with Cleveland now on a 3-game losing streak and Toronto coming off a 6-1 homestand which ended with a blowout win over Milwaukee last night.
The Raptors can pull it off, I think, if they can silence the crowd with a very good scoring run, and keep LeBron and Love in check and not give them good looks.
Great win by the Raptors over a very good Memphis Grizzlies squad tonight! And as a fan of the Raptors going back to the Vince Carter days, I'm happy to know that he's humbled by the response the crowd gave him.
Yes, he left us for dead after the 2004 season, but the one thing he did do right was put Toronto on the basketball map over the years he's been with the Raptors organization.
And with the emergence of the current crop of Raptors players (Lowry, DeRozan, Johnson, Valanciunas, etc.), I feel that we're getting a lot of love here in Canada (and in some ways, made some fans south of the border as well).
LSU down 17-0 to Arkansas
and Miami fumbles
Extreme dislike on the latter.
I'm sad... Auburn loses and they're definitely NOT showing up for the College Football Playoff... Well... I gotta find another "hero" team to support between now and the new year (that is NOT 'Bama nor FSU).
And the moment I mention the 'Noles, did you guys see that insane deflect-and-catch?
BOO!!!! I can't cheer for Auburn now... I'm too down... And it's clear for Georgia that last year's game was a big fluke!
The U really came to play! OK, 66 made a big-time error by hitting the FSU return guy, but boy, did the defense of Miami bail 'em out with that fumble!
Goshdarn it! Auburn is getting GASHED by ChubbGurley!!!! This makes me think last year's game was a joke to them!
And by them, I'm referring to Georgia.
And Miami answers right back.
I already like this! And let's go, Auburn (eyeing the D.S.O.R.)!
I'm just wondering if they have what it takes to beat the Cavs or Bulls in a 7 game series. It all depends on what they do as the season progresses.
Well, and I know it's early in the season, the Cavs seem beatable by the Raptors (LBJ and Love can't gel as far as I'm noticing, LBJ trying to do everything solo, etc.). But a matchup with the Bulls (hopefully in the Conference Final)? I'm sold on that, despite the loss the other night.
Am I seeing this? But then again, I shouldn't be surprised, either...
But there's been a lack of talk with the Toronto Raptors. Naturally, being from Canada and all, I'm a fan of the Raps. And last year, they've had a terrific season that culminated with them going to the playoffs for the first time since the year the Ravens drafted Flacco et al (2008 was their last postseason appearance).
I think they're THE team to beat (along with the Bulls) in the Eastern Conference.
P.S. I also saw a comment that the Raptors are like the NBA's equivalent of the Arizona Cardinals (the team nobody talks about that is doing very well). Thoughts on that?
Geez... Big list I have. But in a nutshell (in particular, this fall's lineup)...
1) How to Get Away with Murder
2) NCIS: New Orleans
3) The Flash
4) Forever
Oh I forgot about that game. Whooops. I was talking about FSU vs. The U.
Ahh... OK. Anyone who beats the Seminoles makes me smile and a quick fan of them. If the U can do it, then I support them as my #1 in the ACC.
Auburn became my #1 favourite (not just in the SEC, but overall!) after taking out Alabama in last year's Iron Bowl (in dramatic and unbelievable fashion, if anyone remembers...)
Ding ding ding.....let the main event begin!
Who are we talking about? If anything, the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry (Auburn-Georgia) IS the main event!
Sorry, Bammers (knowing the Tide's connections to the Ravens), but my heart is in the east side of Alabama...
I rep the Ravens from the city north of Toronto. Vaughan, Ontario, baby!
I rep from the Great White North, hence my username title.

Well, that didn't take too long. Marc Trestman has been let go by Chicago. I guess his experience with the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL didn't translate well in the NFL...
