  1. Unproven? Disagree. By the way, how did the OLine perform while he was making calls for protections......that was on him. No more than a mauler? Pretty harsh.
  2. Ronnie is as good as advertised. He will be a stalwart presence on the line if he keeps on the path he is currently blazing Alex Lewis - Great potential. I think he will need what most rookies need.....time. I would still give either Urschel or Jensen the nod right now at LG, but that's just me. Ryan Jensen - Hard to argue with the results and also what he accomplished last year. They need to let him settle into a role and stop ping-ponging him around. He is a duck in water at Center. Yanda will be backed up by Jensen if Jensen is in a backup roll, I believe. I haven't seen Ducasse used at Right Guard, but that doesn't mean he hasn't.....I just haven't noticed to this point. Wagner is consistent. He looks very good and seems to me he is stronger this year.
  3. So awful he had the highest rating by PFF this week for the Ravens offense . One play doesn't make a guy awful. Body of work.
  4. Check the backside pursuit of the two LB's. No way he makes the EZ even if Jensen holds up. He was moving to his right and got smashed from his left. It happens. Don't think the guy goes out there and takes plays off. Always downfield looking for someone to clean up. Not his style.
  5. Looks like he was stepping right and the D-lineman came in from his left on a hard push. Inexcusable? Why? Every player gets beat.....every. single. one. The key is not to get beat like that very often. Interceptions just can't happen. Fumbles just can't happen. Muffed punts just can't happen. Dropped passes just can't happen..penalties..etc. etc. ad nauseam. They do and in this case, he was beaten. Funny how the aggression he showed got that same player that beat him off balance and upset enough to take a swing at him, and got us 15 yrds that extended a drive. He'll give out more of those than he'll get, is my bet!! Go back and look at the backside pursuit of the two LB's coming off the left side of the line. Who did they beat? That play was absolutely doomed regardless of Jensen getting pancaked. They were going to get there long before the RB hit the LOS.
  6. Did that defender come across the face of the guard on that play? Jensen usually is the one giving those out. He also got that same guy so pissed off earlier in the game that he committed a 15 yard penalty that helped us sustain a drive. If you look at the backside pursuit, regardless of that problem on the block the RB was not going to score. Upon further review, he did not come across the face of the guard. Jensen stepped right an the pressure came from his left leaving him no leverage. The two LB's were in the backfield quickly and the run was doomed despite him getting badly beat
  7. Couple that with Jensen at C and Yanda.........we'd have a very physical Oline with some serious attitude!! Zuttah appeared to be getting pushed around a bit a center vs. Panthers. Think he's less than 300 lbs....I'd guess maybe 285-290 right now. I am not sure we'd go with two rooks on the left side, but I guess time will show how that's going to be.....
  8. That time of year! Hope John is back soon, whatever the issue is.
  9. I see Urschel was not on the field again today......Hope its nothing serious. Jensen took a few reps at RG spelling Yanda is what I heard.
  10. I don't think the battle is quite over for starting Center. We'll see how that one shapes up. Jensen is versatile, but him on the bench is a waste IMHO.
  11. Right. Alex and Jensen should just resign themselves to being backups at this time. Glad you guys have it all sewed up.
  12. So what makes me a Zuttah hater? Guess I don't understand that comment at all. Because I think he'll be in a battle that makes me a hater or ?
  13. Who has the most experience at C as far as NFL reps go between the two? I understand what you're saying. Jensen is the next man up at the position with Urschel where he is now. I don't think anything is for certain right now, and I think we agree on that. I think Wagner, Yanda, and Stanley are set. Center and LG will be hotly contested through camp.
  14. Er, if we were looking at who's had the most game experience at C between Urschel and Jensen......I would say that Urschel is the most qualified of the two. Beyond that, yes......Jensen is qualified. We'll see how it plays out. You've got your information and opinion and I have mine. May the best man win at every position!
  15. I can assure you he did in the past and he did during camp. Brian Bower was at the camp this year (know him fairly well) and verified it to me that he was taking reps at center with the 2's.
  16. Zuttah is coming back from an injury. They are giving him his chance to compete. There is a lot of evaluation that will be done before Zuttah is named the starter when it matters, during the regular season. It's obvious to me that they are going to give Jensen a chance to supplant him. Jensen spent most of his time in football as a Center. It wasn't until college that he played Tight Tackle, and guard in the NFL. He was taking snaps as a center his rookie year prior to his foot injury.
  17. Jensen trained in Taekwondo most of his life. I knew his parents years ago and they owned a studio. Both he and his brother were state and national champions in Olympic style Taekwondo.
  18. Don't disagree as the facts are there about Myers and Jensen. The only reason, that I can think of, that Jensen cleared waivers is because it became known that he had sleep apnea that was untreated and wasn't performing very well because of it. Alex is impressing so far. What will be the important thing is how he performs in the pre-season. How all of them respond and play in the pre-season is important, to be sure. Jensen did a good job when called upon last year. I don't get why they aren't giving him his chance at LG to become the starter. Yet. Lots of evaluation time coming, though. The competition is going to be fierce.
  19. Someone will be cut. My point is seeing the post showing Alex on the PS. How does he get there? He would have to be cut down during the reduction to the 53 man roster. That means we'd have to risk losing him on waivers. I don't see that happening. It's also based on the original post's assumption that we keep 7 lineman. I don't see that as realistic and played out what I would think would happen if we decide to keep only 7. Someone wants to neg me for that.......alrighty then..
  20. Alex Lewis being a fourth rounder is not going to be cut. He would not clear waivers and would be gone. Ravens don't have a lot of players taken in the fourth round that are cut. Since Urschel and Jensen can both play center for clearly less money, I see Zuttah as the odd man out. With Urschel apparently being looked at as the starter at LG, you've either got to find room for Jensen or trade him or Zuttah outright, leaving Lewis as the swing guard. Wesley will end up being our backup tackle along with..........Hurst. However it is formatted, Lewis will not be risked in waivers by cutting him. Additionally, if they cut or trade Jensen, Kubiak may be in the wings looking to grab him up. That leaves you with a rookie left side if Zuttah is injured and they have to slide Urschel to Center.
  21. Watch the film again. Jensen was beaten inside on a stunt. He recovered and knocked his man to the ground. Hurst was walked back into and thrown into the man on the ground, and he fell into Flacco. It was nobody's fault. It's football.
  22. Jensen's pedigree includes most of his youth football and high school football at center. The Ravens have placed him in various positions on the O-line since his arrival, including a brief stint at RT during camp of his second year. His versatility is quite good, but I hope they let the young man settle at a position. If you watch his film at LG, you see he does a good job of getting out into space to block downfield, he adjusts and assists the LT and center well. His intensity and fierceness is on display every game. Early last year he had some struggles out of the gate in games that he started. When you've not had consistent playing time, it takes a little adjustment to get on track. Once he made that adjustment, he had some very dominant performances. I think the key to getting the best out of him is settling him in to a position and stop playing musical chairs with him. Perhaps the stint at center during Mini-camp is to refresh him on the position, and for Urschel, the same holds true. They both got snaps at the position they were not playing at the end of last year. Some think that mini- camp reflects the intended Game 1 roster. I don't think anything has been settled yet with the center and LG position. My personal feeling is the best O-line is Stanley-Jensen-Urschel-Yanda-Wagner. A lot of practice and pre-season football to be played before the cement sets.
  23. I would be pretty confident that Monroe is working on his body. I think his advocacy efforts has the cart before the horse. The NFL will not endorse a treatment alternative that has not been deemed legal throughout the breadth of the states in which the organization operates. It would be unwise for them to do so. The first step is the legalization. He's complaining about something the League cannot really take a prudent stance on currently.
  24. I think Pitta may be a bit tentative. I know I would be. I believe that the time away from the game will affect him early on. I think he has an uphill battle with the depth and youth we have at the position. His toughness and route running gets him on the field to stay, if he can remain healthy. I see Forsett emerging as the starter. Dixon intrigues me...like to get more looks from him during Mini-camp. I need to see more to push a list out........
  25. This is where the rubber meets the road. There is a larger issue at stake and that is just what you've pointed out here. The battle begins and ends with the overall acceptance of MJ as a legal substance for medical usage. Once that hurdle is cleared, then it is time to approach the NFL with the change of policy. Excellent point.
