  1. Er, what NFL passing record did he almost match this weekend?
  2. Stanley - Jensen - Urschel - Yanda - Wagner versus the Raiders. I think this gives us the lineup for best success right now. Jensen and Urschel could switch up in this scenario.I would put Zuttah in relief of Jensen/Urschel. We need more effective run game blocking. We need a mauler in at LG/C.
  3. No need to provide the Jags with gameday planning info....
  4. Wasn't discovered in the Offseason. Discovered after he was cut. It along with poor play in the preseason landed him on the PS. Fought his way back to the 53 by the last two games of that season. What he lost was gameday opportunity,. That was my point in all I said. He's not had a season to settle in to a position Fair enough on the remaining points ?
  5. Jags will be in a mood, being 0-2. I see our defense mashing the kitties. Depending on personnel decisions, I think our running game tilts this one in our favor. We come home 3-0 Prediction: 27-13 Ravens
  6. Precisely. The issue must have put John behind. He's been participating fully as of late. I would stay tuned to the regularly scheduled programming and see how this plays out by next week.
  7. What is making him a question mark?
  8. He's been healthy for 1 of those three, broken foot, apnea, and 1 healthy season. So that is three. This is his fourth year, so let's be a little more accurate. Does two games make Lewis a known quantity? Has Lewis been asked to play four positions on the line? Zuttah? Urschel? Could they? Guy is versatile but hasn't been allowed to settle into one. He did have some under par games, but the more he played, the better he got.
  9. I think part of the problem is they haven't let him settle in at a position since he got here. First center, then out to guard, then they put him out at OT, then back to guard. He played overall pretty well once they let him settle in for a few starts and finished the season last year, as I see it, pretty darn good. Then he rolls into camp this year and give him NO chance at becoming the starting guard. I thought he earned the shot. Now back to center.........I don't know what he needs to do to earn a look at starting. He, according to PFF (sorry Filmstudy) pulled some high praise and even the best scores of any OL in the league one week and better than average scores for a number of weeks. He is fully capable of being a strong LG or C. He's in his last year as a ERFA. They need to give him a realistic opportunity to become a starter. I thought he earned it last year but apparently not. Maybe the coaching staff doesn't like his demeanor on the field. Hard to know why.......or its that the coaches evaluations line up differently than we the fans or the people doing the grading outside of the organization itself. I don't think he's even approached his full potential. Fourth year in the league and only 25...... You have to give credit where credit is due with Urschel and Lewis. Jensen will just need to keep working hard and be ready for whatever or whomever will give him his opportunity.
  10. This is what I saw in the game last week. He was late on his pulls to block on a couple of runs to the left. He also ran right past a defender to take on the OLB while the defender he passed on slipped through to make the tackle. Not sure if that was a blown assignment, but it looked like indecisiveness. Jeremy doesn't seem to get out to the second level as well as Jensen does. Jensen, at times, overruns his initial blocks because he is quick to move up field. He attacks and drives defenders off the ball well, and finishes blocks with attitude (ergo the skirmishes after the echo of the whistle). I think when he, Urschel, and KO were in last year they had very good chemistry. Even KO gave Jensen props last year on Twitter for his efforts. We need that nasty on the line.
  11. I'd defer to Filmstudy and how he scored Jensen. I don't think he played badly. He finishes his blocks and he gets to the second level on running plays. He has more lead in his shorts and has better feet and speed to the point of contact.
  12. When John and Ryan were playing together last year, I think our left side was very competitive. I watched Zuttah very carefully in this last game. He was late getting to blocks, and seemed to lack vision and decisiveness as to where and who he should be blocking. Looking at him, he seems to be lighter than last year. He's getting pushed back often on pass pro, and is engaging on run blocks he does make, but does not sustain them long enough or continue to have the leverage to drive his man back. We need a bigger center. Jensen would get my nod right now.
  13. The Good: Tuck and Pitta The Bad: Zuttah The Ugly: The Browns
  14. I think we'll see Urschel and Hurst dress and Jensen will be inactive. Urschel seems to have Harbs favor right now, and while Jensen has played a smattering of Tackle, I don't see them opting to Jensen and Urschel as the backups. If Wagner were injured, I can see Yanda sliding out to RG and Urschel being planted at RG. If Stanley were injured (perish the thought) then Hurst would enter at LT. I think that is the crux of the matter. I don't think they'd want to have that scenario happen without a "true tackle" in reserve. Last year, Urschel was the primary backup (G/C). I don't know that he's lost that position yet. I just don't see Zuttah losing his job right now. If he did, then I think you'd probably see Urschel at Center and Jensen as the primary G/C backup. My personal feelings are that Jensen is a stronger and more aggressive player than Urschel, hands down. Chaos math is no substitute for horsepower and attitude in the trenches. His scoring by outside sources (if you take any stock in that) shows he tends to be better on game day than either.
  15. Hurst will dress. Gotta have a tackle. Urschel will not dress. Jensen will.
  16. Brandon Williams 2 sacks and 4 QB hits!
  17. Guess what I am looking for is that we put the game away with a lead. Seems last year we just did not finish games strong in the 4th. That is the biggest element I'm going to look for is a change in that problem from this team. Get a lead, keep the lead, finish teams off. Minimize the long 3rd down conversions and avoid stupid penalties that extend drives. We have a great chance to start the season with a strong record. This game is critical to setting that tone.
  18. If we are at the game: Jersey, arrive when gates open, eat sliders, stand on opening series if we have the ball If we are at home: Jersey, chicken wings, flag out front Nothing major, but our routine!!
  19. In the first preseason game, Urschel relieved Zuttah, sliding from LG to C, and Lewis went to guard on the first series that Zuttah and Yanda went out. Jensen came in afterwards to play C. I think Urschel has lost the battle for starting LG. Jensen and Urschel will battle for the first backup in if Lewis or Zuttah go down. I think Urschel is a better guard, and that Jensen is more natural at Center.
  20. He had a Jones Fracture in his foot. He had some relapse issues with the bone knitting together and it didn't heal as quickly as they believed it would. If I remember correctly he wasn't really available until the last couple of games that year. Kind of pointless risking him at that point. He then had issues with Apnea the following season and was cut and cleared waivers to the P/S. He eventually saw the field during Pittsburgh playoff game on ST that year.
  21. Urschel wasn't on the field vs. the Lions.....that was the game and situation I was referring to. Jensen was playing Center as I am sure you know. Sorry if I was unclear.......
