  1. Thanks for comment Mom Gene & Salamander. I still don't really care if there was intent or not...he's not our quarterback and Suggs was not in the wrong. To be honest, he probably did Chip & Bradford a favor by giving them a reality check.

I think the local radio hosts are clowns anyway...just goes to show their intentions, but I guess everyone has the right to their opinion.

  2. To soon to ask more out of Camp when he is struggling to stay healthy at the receiver position where he can develop before SSS departs.

I think as long as it is not Carter returning kicks we good..jk but I would really prefer seeing us not save one roster spot for this position when injuries are popping off.

  3. Man, really disappointed in Camp's injuries. When we drafted him I was so pumped to see us go for a shifty slot receiver that could finally get some YAC for us. Crossing my fingers that this injury is a fluke for his sake.

I also think that he has easily passed Brown & Butler making a push for Aiken's role. Just my honest opinion, but all of these guys have a low ceiling and haven't shown much of anything more than mediocre play. In a perfect world I would like to see Camp & Waller surpass Aiken, Brown, and Butler. Those two with SSS and BP would be a lot of fun to watch.

...Aiken can stay if he puts more effort into getting open.

  4. I expect us to steamroll the Redskins. We usually play nasty after getting handed a tough loss. We usually take our frustration out on the next team. Maybe this is all part of Kelly's master scheme. Piss off a team of Ravens and make them extract their revenge physically on a divisional rival in the next game lol.

Yea, I expect to see our D line go to work on those guys this weekend. I didn't get the chance to watch all of last weekends preseason, but I tend to agree with you about coming out strong after poor performances.

If Harbs camp is as rough as they say I'm sure this week will be motivation

  5. Like most have already said, I think in the ravens case its more of respect for physicality.

I also think that Oz & co. are trying to bring that aspect back to our team with the addition of Steve Smith. He brings that nasty side that we missed when we lost most of our vets. Having him on our team exposes a lot of the rookies and younger players to his work ethics and playing style. Hopefully it rubs off somewhere along the line.

  6. I love what I saw from Campanaro last Thursday, and what I just read about him having such a good day at practice. This is Exactly what he needed to do; stack good performances on top of each other Without getting any more dings or injuries. Reading that he was Consistently finding open spots in the field is not at all surprising since that has Always been one of skills or abilities. He has many others, so I'm hoping he just keeps doing what he's been doing. I really want this kid to make the team because I think he's got loads of talent, and some of his particular skills I'm not seeing a lot of from other receivers. If he can just stay healthy, this kid is really going to add something to this team, a top notch and dangerous slot receiver. Keep it up, Camp!

I will second this. Hearing the term "mismatch problem" is exactly what we wanted from Camp.

The fact of playing shifty routes with strong hands is a huge bonus for us in the slot. Even in Thursday's game his YAC was great to see.

  7. It's a nice thought to consider Patterson for a 6th or even 5th rd pick, but I think it would be a pipe dream realistically.

Starting to get worried about the defense honestly. I was disappointed in our last outing against the Saints. Hopefully we keep our starters healthy this year.

  8. Thank god football is back. I had to remind myself at the end that it was only a preseason, but overall it was a good game.

My thoughts on the team are that Treastman picked up where Gary left off. I think that even if the scheme has been tweaked, you can tell we are transitioning into more of a pass friendly unit. I think Taliaferro is a great compliment to Forsett and was impressed with his strength. WR's looked better than advertised, atleast with the ones I was interested in...Camp & Waller. I think these two have a future in Baltimore. Aiken, Butler, and Carter struggled but a lot can change over the rest of preseason. TE's looked good and Maxx is a beast. Gronk ability to dominate but a bit sluggish. QB's looked like studs...even if Shaub forgets what team he plays for...some throws were perfect.

SSS, BP, Marlon Brown, Campanero, Aiken, Waller

Deffense...I'm not really sure what happend here. Number one's played well but after that...what happend..? Dean Pees has some work to do. Carl Davis and Zach Orr played great.

  9. i think steve, ozzie, and harbs are a truly elite trio of organizational leaders, i think they go down in history as one of the absolute best trios, and i think when its all said and done harbaugh is a very long tenured, and future hall of fame head coach, i think over the next few years we really start to see him cement his legacy as one of the greats, its almost like hes beginning to break through what we thought was his ceiling, of course this is all predictions but this is just how i see it playing out.

Exactly what I'm talking about. I think he is really starting to come into his own and building a lot more confidence so we see his personality come through more and more each year

  10. Is it me or does John Harbaugh seem fired up this year?

Ever since the beginning of TC I've noticed a slight change of attitude and/or coaching style that I haven't seen during past seasons. Granted, maybe I missed the Kevin Byrne article from last year at the opening, but I can tell he, Oz, and Bisciotti are going to work.

Call me crazy, but John just sounds like last year may have left a small chip on his shoulder with how things ended...even some of the players mentioning how this team won't be the same as last year. Either way I have complete trust in John for putting the best and baddest team out there regardless.

  11. Some of us have been saying this since draft day: it may be unfair and misleading putting too much faith in Maxx Williams as an immediate #1 cacthing TE. Why? OIf course NOT because he doesn't have what it takes to become one - but because he is a TE, and TE's usually take a bit more time to get used too playing in the NFL. See how both the fans and the player were disappointed and hurt about Eric Ebron's rookie season performance. He was almost unanimously declared a day-1 starter. Of course he couldn't deliver. Not because he couldn't become a great TE - but because TIGHT ENDS TYPICALLY NEED MORE TIME. While RB's and WR's seem more and more NFL-ready coming out of college, TE's not so much. The worst thing we could do to Maxx is to put that kind of weight on him. He's still very young, even by NFL standards, and surely he has a lot to learn. What we should do - and I'm sure Harbaugh will do - is give him enouh time and patience.

What does that mean? It means that if Pitta goes on the PUIP-list - seems all but official at this point - then we'll definitely lack true veteran presence at the position, and exactly when we'd need it most for Maxx to mentor. Consequently, I would think we should definitely try to bring in a real - vested - veteran catching TE at least for the camp. Gresham seems to have better options (with more possible playing time), but there are other vets put there, players like Zach Miller who could probably be a good mentor...

Interesting thought on adding veteran leadership considering Pitta's situation. I think it would be a good idea honestly. I really wouldn't count Maxx short yet...I mean I don't think they would try and use him to the degree that Ebron was used from sheer athleticism and rookie perspective.

...at least wait until TC starts. Or maybe I'm just to confident haha
