  1. Supposedly, the O's have placed a time limit on their offer. I want to keep Davis, but not for more than 150 million. If he wants more, I'm okay with him leaving.

Conflicting reports out there now. One says we upped the offer to 168 million, while another says we took the offer off the table. We shall see!

    And yes...we need pitching.

I like Davis as well, but I think at 150 its even pushing value anymore is a mistake. Trumbo should be able to fill in nicely.

  2. Sounds like Chris and his agent are shooting for the stars with his next contract.

Really surprised that he didnt take the 150 million 7 year deal, but then again, he mentioned he did not want to return to the club once Markakis walked. If he is going to let this deal sit, I don't see us resigning him...O's need to put a time frame on that and wash their hands of it.

    WE NEED PITCHING!!

Personally hoping Chris walks and we can put that money elsewhere.

  3. he seemed to get thrown at a lot against alabama. He did really well with his tackling and broke up a couple short passes (one was a fade) but i saw him get beat deep twice and outjumped both times once by a true freshman(even if he is a stud). It worries me isnt that hes necessarily getting beat deep but that when he has a chance to recover he seems to get outjumped by the receiver most likely because of his size and alabama took advantage of that. Im just worried how hes going to match up when other teams try to put big bodies on him

I didn't get to watch this game, but putting the tape into perspectives I would hope that VH3 would become our #1 if he's being picked that high. However, it would be painful to watch out highest draft pick in years get out reached on throws week to week...

I'm sticking with Ramsey. I think his size and versatility is something we value highly in addition to his measurables and ability.

  4. I was a Ramsey guy in the beginning, but you guys convinced me with VH3. Considering our draft luck tho I would be shocked and ecstatic if we landed him. Reading the LFW, analysts have us picking at number six with the remainder of our schedule.

Do you guys think that would be a reach?

I could see Ramsey, Stanley, and VH3 all available at that spot.

  5. People forget how the great Ravens defense was built back in the day. It all started in the middle out. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were the centrepieces but now those days have come and gone. We have a pretty good MLB in Mosley who is doing his thing conducting the front 7. All we are missing is the centrepiece of the secondary, which I think will be Jalen Ramsey playing safety. The guy has a demeanor about him that spells don't throw the ball or get knocked out. Ramsey is the missing piece to the great traditional Ravens defense we have all come to know. Ramsey or nothing.

I'm with you, but I don't see Ramsey going until 6-8 which won't be where we end up. If anything I think we finish at #3 with Bosa as BPA and filling need for pass rush.

Would much rather go with Grim's theory with the #1 pick trading with Cleveland for Joe Thomas and moving back a few spots, but cant see that happening unless the stars align...

  6. I personally think we are seeing lots of injuries because the CBA is so limited on a players time with his coach in the off season and you lose the professional coaching of the trainers, the amount of time in the weight room so you will see the Achilles type injuries. It sucks for all around.

That's interesting. I'll be honest I sort of overlooked the CBA holdout/agreement, but do you see that as something that the players wanted in consideration for more time off?

  7. I'm not sure what you're implying but if you're implying this might be a good thing I think you should reconsider your stance. Even Canty seems to think this is a little stupid.

I'm honestly starting to wonder if Harbaugh has lost the team.

I agree with you Grim...sounds like a coaching desperation move. To be honest I hadn't really even really considered Harbs as a cause for concern up to this point but he must have hit the panic button and called his brother for some tips.

  8. I thought it was the same hip both times. Was it both or the same one? Or is that a mistake on your part?

Well I'm a little more optimistic now. I thought it was both. Looking back I only read of one specifically.

    Thanks

  9. It would be hard for me to see him not come back at this point. Considering the Ravens have been holding on hope this long, there must be a minimal chance that he could recover from this and continue on with his football career.

...realistically though, how does one dislocate both hips so easily and consider coming back to play in the NFL..? I mean that last one was just freaky where he caught the flat route and fell over untouched. Hopefully they know something we don't which is most often the case anyway.
