  1. don't shoot the messenger, but the games monday boss
  2. i remember when he put out the quote he was talking about himself and how he acts like a "goon" or something. How it has always been a part of his mentality to be the alpha pit bull and leave people in your path with no pity... he needs to be a coach with us or something.
  3. I see KO going and John Urshel taking his place.. unless they have plans to use him at center because he is that durable. That would be an amazing turn of events if they signed both guards and were polishing Urshel to play center.
  4. I rewatched the game the other day and i replayed the trap run 5 times, where Hurst crashed the middle and Yanda pulled and materialized #51 into particles with that hit... I saw #73 rounding the corner with just a linebacker standing in a canalley of a hole and said to myself, "Oh no...." I felt bad for that steeler for a second..
  5. He's a Ngata for sure... Top graded player by PFF, guy is becoming the tone of the defense because he plays so hard every play and, like CJ Mosley, he is in on almost every run tackle when the pile clears. He blew up the screen by getting in the backfield so quickly and bunched everyone up, I think the lineman decided he had to block him cause if they disengaged off the snap Vick may of been planted for a sack fumble. Thats the only thing that busts a screen, a defender committing and not reacting.
  6. Kid had good production his first two years then had to take a back seat with Tavon Austin as the 8th overall pick in the draft. 2012 : 48 Receptions for 698 yards 2013: 34 Receptions for 569 yards Joe will love being able to unleash the ball and he will get his fair share of targets being the 2nd most experienced receiver on the team behind an injured Steve Smith. The kid is a veteran and we also have him inked under his rookie contract. So thats a corner and wr dealt for a 7th rounder next year and one the year after that... yeah, Ozzie is a straight wizard
  7. He had a qb crisis last year and stopped short his progression... had decent two years in the league and then Tavon Austin was given his job because of how high the kid was drafted. I'm sure the first thing Joe wants to get right is timing that deep ball to him. As for Babin, I'm glad they went with Smith cause he was flying around and got a little swag with two sacks on back-to-back plays, but you can't stand there and tell me they have NO use for the man.
  8. Why are you hating on a Raven that made an amazing play to get us a MUCH needed touchdown? He gave our offense a spark in the return game and helped us win against the Steelers. So step off someone that helped win us a huge game like that. Second of all, Sergio Kindle was an early 2nd round pick... also was an outside linebacker so idk what you're talking about. Third of all, Perriman has yet to play a snap in the NFL... how is he a dud? lol You want to cut him?! Rookie contracts are cheap buddy, only a fool would cut a 1st round pick the season after they were drafted... and it wouldnt be due to an injury! He is a BIG investment and I see no problem making sure he can spend the next 8 years catching passes from Joe Cool. Fourth of all, We desperately need a wide receiver outside of Steve Smith so to say... Cut Marlon Brown and our first round pick and "the rest will work itself out." How do you intend to get those shut down corners and 10+ sack defensive ends and outside linebackers??
  9. I remember texting my friend that Will Davis was in the game and called on him to make a big play on that 3rd down break up that he almost picked off. I saw a #39 flying around and he laid a hit on Brown... he will carve out a spot on this roster with play like that!
  10. Hopefully Jeremy Ross can take on a little Jacoby Jones role and give us some exiting returns and a few deep ball attempts a game. Perriman and Williams will contribute but I just wanna know if they will be on the field at this point. The defense will be improved with Carl Davis replacing Ngata at DT with Brandon Williams next to him and a committee of Timmy Jernigan, Chris Canty, Lawrence Guy and Kapron Lewis-Moore at ends. I like our secondary with a lot of battle tested guys returning like Melvin, Levine and Hill being given a reward. We have to have the best linebacker core in the NFL with Suggs, Dumervil, Upshaw, Mosley and Smith....
  11. Terrance Williams was the #2 for Tony Romo... either way they both had 37 catches but Williams had 200 more yards and double the touchdowns. convenient he failed to mention that production.
  12. halfback swings is my go to audible when i see the defense is sending someone off the corner in Madden... the running back is just running free with 10+ yards of space.
  13. Flacco: "Yeah, we can try it out." Trestman hugs flacco and thanks him
  14. I don't see how you can argue Ben when his ankle can knock him out a quarter of a season if it is twisted... then he will play thru the pain and make it worse. It is Joe because of his more recent success and clean slate of health. I remember Ben played a night game when he was hobbling around and the defense would just touch him and he would fall down... think that will get BETTER with time?? He's said in a interview he wakes his wife up at night cause his feet crack n pop when he walks to the bathroom
  15. I just imagine him saying something to Joe then cringes waiting the Cutler-like response he is used to.
  16. can't wait for him to get his chin strap on and go to work. he will be giving many gestures to Alice if he picks up where he left of in college... he will probably do a little Justin Forsett or Ngata every time.
  17. Luck can be thrown in there cause he is a scary QB to face, he's a more athletic Peyton Manning and isn't a playoff bust like Cam or Ryan. Especially after last season, we knocked off Ben and should of walked all over the Pats had we had a corner off IR. Joe carried us and we got into the playoffs with his arm on two plays to Torrey Smith. Bomb then the dagger.
  18. he threw in Cam Newton and Matt Ryan... Saying Cam is better than Joe is a joke. If Joe had Ryan's receivers he would be an MVP
  19. i think we are in a great position here. We have three backs that compliment each other so well.. a small shifty speedster, a big bruiser and then a combination of the two. Potential three headed monster if Forsett and Taliaferro build off last year and we can bring Buck along like we did last year with Taliaferro.
  20. Im done with you man... stop focusing on a movie! I was merely giving you an example of how you coach someone with bad ball security. It's a 24/7 process and the player has to relearn things by carrying a ball EVERYWHERE they go. You think high school athletes can absorb more than a professional? Movie or not, to think Juice "is what he is" is a little off base. Juice hasn't showed enough to fit the bill of what you described... He is entering his third year... second as a starter. How are you so confident to say that when he had a single full season starting at fullback?? I mentioned a lot of other things you can talk about but you choose a scene from Remember the Titans... Sub-division isn't D-1 football... you're already lost on that so idk why I am wasting my time. If the front office had your faith in players, Jimmy Smith would of been cut his 3rd season... You said people who lose the ball going to ground are "uncoachable" but had nothing to say when i mentioned Dez Bryant did the SAME thing! Good thing you aren't a "coach"... that is kind of an important factor when deeming someone as "uncoachable." Maybe you're just a poor evaluator of talent? Not so much the player can't play... You've made the same comment the past 3 times. Bring something new to the table or just let it go man.
  21. why would hollywood change a "players DNA"... you could of stopped using that phrase on the 10th time you used it because it doesn't do much. It hardly means anything. If you're only going to talk about that one thing then I'm obviously wasting my time talking to you. Juice only had fumbling problems when going to ground.. he was trying to do to much, something young players do. He isn't a running back though... Idk why you keep bringing that up because he fumbled as a receiver. And I wouldnt put Boyle ahead of Juice... Idk what you've seen from sub-division football but that seems like an oversight that many people are having. They also don't play the same positions... i mentioned a wide out, running back and a tight end. Never did i mention a H-back or fullback because there aren't many! So I'm sure Juice isn't worried about "washing out" as a running back.
  22. you could say that, you did.. and you're wrong. Dean Peas was pulling the strings on defense and to blame one defender for one play is egregious... The defense let the Pats score like it was a high school football game! They had no discipline and let trick plays, missed tackles and Tom Brady running like molasses into the end zone. If you want to go and blame an undrafted corner who we were FORCED to start because of injury, Go ahead! I put more blame on the defense as a whole for that performance... and when it came down to it. Torrey Smith couldn't make ONE catch... at least Melvin TRIED to make a play! I'd rather have a corner be in position and not make a play then him having NO IDEA where they are/should be *cough Matt Elam *cough *cough...
  23. after last season when we lost half a dozen corners it seems we are now LOADED at corner with guys that can start all the way down at #5 Webb, Smith and Arrington have started over a long period of time. Vaughn started a whole season for the Colts and has seen solid playing time every year. Melvin started last season and would be likely to take a spot if an outside guy went down because he can stuff people at the line with his long arms. Then behind those guys we have people that can contribute at the slot and sub-packages like Levine, Jackson and Walker.
  24. Dez Bryant lost a ball going to the ground... I guess he is beyond coaching because the ground forced the ball out. It was a rookie mistake, he didn't play his entire rookie year behind Leach and he needed to get a Division 1 SEC school NFL body.. not an Ivy League NFL body. If you're talking so much about a "players DNA" then how is it not relevant? rookies make mistakes and he didn't fumble while running for a short gain... he tried to do too much on some swing passes because he sat out his whole rookie year and now he's trying to make up for it with some touchdowns! He played in Ivy League football so I'm sure it was a learning experience for him realizing that these guys hit harder than the kids at Yale. Teaching someone when NOT to fight for more yards isn't a problem.. He was trying to do to much. The same thing can happen to Maxx Williams if he tries to leap every person and gets lit up and loses the football... That happens to young players man. They want to be the dude on SC top 10 leaping a defender... Can you really blame him? Someone like LeSean McCoy that holds the ball like a scrambling Qb is unteachable. Or Torrey Smith having alligator arms.. The Ravens don't slide rookies ahead of veterans, especially when they play different positions... Nobody at tight end could do what Juice does, and we need those tightends on the line... not in the backfield. Crockett Gilmore and Maxx Williams will play, but Boyle is a back up to Pitta. Even with Pitta out, Boyle will be brought on quite slowly like Gilmore was last year. Juice will get some action on play action swings.. same thing he did last year. He isn't threatening tight ends for any playing time and they aren't really scratching his position either. He will have to earn that play and I'm sure they will get him involved during preseason to get him some good reps. Go re-watch Remember the Titans.. Denzel made Donald Faison carry around a football wherever he went and he'd run laps if it hit the ground. I'm sure he's had a football tucked in his arm in a similar fashion.
  25. baseball, hockey and basketball have always been a "series" game... you play teams multiple times and attempt to win stretches of games, especially in baseball, when you have a mini-series every three days. Soccer and Football is WAY too demanding to have a series of games... it would take 6 months to do the playoffs!
