  1. Hopefully Jaguars go up and reach for Treadwell, and we get Ramsey or Hargreaves. Or the impossible happens and Joey Bosa pulls a Leonard Williams and gets drafted #6.

Why would the jags do that?

They had 2 1000+ yard wr's this past season. Their best WR (allen robinson) is a pro bowler. Both are young players that just completed their 2nd seasons in the NFL. WR isn't a need for the jags.

  2. The bottom line is the ravens need playmakers @ key positions in order to become a great team, again (FS/CB/WR/OLB/DE). If the compensatory picks turn out as projected, the ravens could have 3 third round picks. They could supplement the CB/WR/DE positions in that round. I feel like the ravens pretty much nailed the 2015 nfl draft (yup, i'm not giving up on perriman). It'll be interesting to see how the 2015 draftees look w/ a year of NFL caliber strength training. If the ravens can knock the 2016 draft out of the park, they'll have a nice foundation to build upon.

The ravens don't need a full on rebuild. They just need a few playmakers here & there that are able to flip possessions. Sacks, turnovers & touchdowns, people. Improve those aspects of the squad and the ravens become a much more threatening team. The only concern i have w/ this team's trenches is the left side of the offensive line. Monroe is constantly hurt & kelechi may be too pricey to keep. Hopefully, jensen is ready to play starting left guard. The ravens need to address the backup LT position. Hurst is just bad.

I have faith that the FO will address these needs.

  3. The TE position is set. The ravens probably won't have to draft another tight end for 2-3 years. Hopefully, this allows the ravens to address other positions of need (OT if kelechi leaves, WR, CB, S, OLB). Although i'm a huge crockett fan, i think maxx has more potential to be a pro bowl caliber TE. We saw what a year of NFL strength training did for crockett. I'm sure it'll do wonders for a guy like maxx, too. Can't forget about nick boyle. He's our roughrider. I like this group of TE's.

  4. This is ridiculous. The season is lost. This is the PERFECT TIME to be developing a darren waller while benching (OR CUTTING, I WOULDN'T BE OPPOSED TO CUTTING) marlon brown. Instead, waller gets IR'd in favor of some freaking tackle. Screw this. Notice that the 2 wr's who actually need development time & have unique skillsets got ir'd (waller/campagnaro) while the other 2 (a journeyman and a 6'5 wr that can't catch anymore) continue to take reps no matter what. Ridiculous.

  5. This is what i'm wondering. Tray walker was drafted in the 4th round this year. Every other ravens pick who is on the active roster & not injured has played a noticeable amount of snaps at their position groups (maxx williams, carl davis, za'darius smith, nick boyle, darren waller, buck allen). If this is a wasted season, throw tray out there at corner opposite jimmy smith. See how he responds. If he gets burned, who cares? Every corner fails at some point. Let him play. Is he that far behind that he can't get snaps for a terrible team decimated at corner? If that's the case, he's not going to help next season, either.

  6. That was the ultimate dagger in the fans' collective hearts! That saunter led by Flacco to the line of scrimmage to spike the ball told me exactly what you correctly surmised. It was like coming back to the sidelines in practice - that saunter to save precious seconds to win the game! That was disrespectful towards every Ravens fan in my view.

Yeah. I agree w/ everything you said.

  7. Would explain a lot of what's going on. Bears cross your mind?

Yup. This team has the mentality of last yr's chicago bears. The personnel is different but the lack of urgency is there. It's sickening & in no way resembles the baseline set by guys like ogden, lewis, reed, etc. This is just pitiful at this point. The owner has to see this which is why i expect big changes next season. Harbaugh will stay. His staff is screwed, though.

  8. The good thing about this is we don't have to see false hope articles on this site anymore! This team is what it is at this point. The ravens are an inexperienced bunch that lacks discipline, talent, good coaching and leadership. That's what this team is right now. The road to the #1 pick starts now. It's time for a reset.

  9. Is the season over? Yes.

I hope the ravens realize this. This team needs its draft picks. Also, this team needs high draft position, not only for the 1st rd but for later rounds. The offensive skill positions, defensive backfield & OLB position need to be bolstered. It would be even better if the ravens could trade their high first rounder for a package but that probably won't happen unless we get the #1 pick (jared goff).

This upcoming draft will be the most important the ravens have partook in since 2008, no doubt. If the ravens blow this upcoming draft, we're screwed.

  10. Ozzie- you are one of the best at drafting lineman and linebackers, but please defer to others when selecting skilled positions. Also, who cares if we have 47 picks for one year's draft- if none of these later players pan out, then what's the difference. Matt Elam anyone?

The funny thing is ozzie did defer. TJoe hortiz & wr coach Bobby Engram vouched for perriman which is why he was picked. If ozzie didn't defer, the ravens probably would have picked byron jones.

  11. From John Meoli's Twitter:

    Harbaugh on perriman injury:

" We just had a meeting tonight, as a matter of fact. Just got over to the stadium here, and Dick Cass and Ozzie and I had a meeting with Dr. Curl and Dr. Tucker and they gave us an update.

Breshad went down and saw Dr. James Andrews the last two days. He had a consultation on Wednesday, and actually decided to go in with a scope and take a look at it this morning, just to look at it up close. It seems like what he saw he didn't see anything new. There's no injury of any kind, it's just a slow healing ligament, for whatever reason. Very slow. We're a little surprised to say the least, that it's healing this slowly but that's what it's doing. So it's just going to be a matter of time. The injection with the stem cells, that should help a little bit too, but it's going to be a little bit of time. Hopefully shorter rather than longer, and we'll keep working hard to try to get him back."

More Harbaugh: "The injection with the stem cells, that should help a little bit too, but it’s going to be a little bit of time."

Stem cells imply the need for healing. Not likely to be ready in 2 weeks like from some quick scopes. #Perr

  13. If i were the ravens, i wouldn't let this perriman injury dissuade me from addressing the wr position in next yr's draft. I'd even use a high pick again. I wouldn't use a first rounder (This team needs another elite defensive talent) but would definitely use a 2nd or 3rd. Seemingly every yr, there's a r-cobb/ty-hilton/e-sanders available in those rounds. It's time to dive in and get a technician w/ really good athleticism there. The ravens got their HWS (height/weight/speed) prospects in last year's draft. Flacco needs a young route runner who can flourish while he still has a big arm. If the ravens decide to neglect the WR position in next yr's draft because of this injury to BP, i'll be highly disappointed. Aiken and brown are not the answer now and will not be the answer next season. They are backups, plain and simple.

Does this team have needs at other positions? Yes. However, i believe the WR position will be the biggest need of this team next season, bar none w/ corner being 2nd. This offense is steve smith or bust. Steve's retiring after the season. Hopefully the FO realizes that, drafts a 2nd/3rd round technician and then signs a vet wr who flacco can click w/ from a confidence standpoint. The rest of the picks can be used on defense if need be.

  14. The breshad perriman discussion is futile at this point. I'm not giving up on him like some others. I'll just wait until he actually comes back and plays in games to see if it was all worth it.

The ravens won't sign alshon. He's too expensive. They let torrey walk in part because they knew osemele & yanda were going to be up for new deals soon. If the ravens sign an alshon and pay him big $, it'll be at the expense of the o-line. The caliber of joe's weapons won't matter if he isn't adequately protected up front. He isn't good at dealing w/ pressure at all... the FO knows that. Besides, the ravens need to build & maintain their o-line for run purposes as well.

The blunt reality is this. If the ravens want to find a quality wr w/o effecting future extensions, they'll need to attain him through the draft. I still like the waller and perriman picks from a HWS & potential standpoint. They need to be developed but have high upsides... well, if they're healthy. The ravens need to go into this draft looking for a mid round technician w/ exceptional speed. Talents like golden tate, randall cobb, ty hilton & emmanuel sanders go in the 2nd and 3rd rounds nearly every draft. IDK if the ravens will go in that direction considering team needs. We'll see if the ravens tackle the draft w/ this in mind.
