Updated the list. (Guess I should save this somewhere so I don't lose it when the forum closes down)
Although it's not on the list, I'm pretty sure we worked out Gradkowski, and I know we worked out Robert Myers. We also worked out Tavon Young. Perhaps workouts are the real thing to keep an eye on.

That's a pick I don't hear too often.

My prediction is that the Ravens pass on both Barnett and Corey Davis for someone this board generally does not want, perhaps Foster or Robinson. It's last year all over again.
I don't think a trade-down happens. Teams aren't going to want to part with their 2nd and/or 3rd round picks in this draft. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, however, because unless Barnett or OJ Howard are available, trading back is my preference.
Bold prediction:
Derek Barnett is available at #16, but Ozzie and co. pass on him either by taking some other edge rusher (similar to passing on Tunsil last year for Stanley) or by trading down (similar to passing on Mack and Spence last year for Correa).
I mean, if the picks fall in such a way that OL meets BPA, then I'm all for it. However, every OL in this draft is a reach at #16 overall, at least in my opinion, so we'd have to trade down for OL to be the BPA.
Furthermore, it should be recognized that Alex Lewis is best as a RT; he lacks the leverage and push to be anything more than an average LG. Given this, any RT that is drafted essentially addresses the hole at LG by forcing a RT to play out of position at LG. If they reach for someone like Cam Robinson at #16, then I hope it's because they think he can be the next Osemele at LG; otherwise, it's a terrible pick.
I've been seeing more mocks lately where Corey Davis is available in the late 20s (Charlie Campbell's latest mock is an example, but I know I've seen others elsewhere). Makes me wonder if he's one of those players that the media is higher on than the coaches/GMs.

ZDS won't see a second contract with this team and may not see a second contract at all. He is incredibly incompetent at the pro level
I think we agree on Za'Darius Smith being mediocre; I just don't see Anderson being anything more than average depth. He might get some hustle/coverage sacks (which is why I compared him to Smith), but I just don't see him being a real contributor, not with his lack of burst.
5 hours ago, Willbacker said:Does seem to me that this could be a Myles Jack falling and yes a diluted sample to me means he's covering something. ILB is not a position we need to draft in the 1st rd regardless.
I'd honestly like to see what Correa or Onwuasor can do at ILB and live with the potentially disastrous result than spend a first round pick on an ILB, especially one with the issues Foster may have. It's a luxury pick when you consider how you can plug in a guy like Orr and get good results thanks to Mosley attracting blockers.
2 hours ago, usmccharles said:Talk about trading back. If this scenario happened id be happy with getting Davis in the late 20s, but that's not happening. The rest isn't great with the amount of picks imo. Not a fan of Anderson
That would be a weird draft.
It seems like we have too many holes to fill to justify that trade up, although I like the trade-back part of it.
Agree on Anderson. He's not going to add anything that Za'Darius doesn't already do.
Adoree Jackson, Zay Jones, Watt
Those tend to be my favorite round 2 targets when I do those computer mocks lol
He has to love football, have a high motor, be quicker than fast, be a competitor, have a high floor, have upside, have rare athleticism, possess good instincts, and any other cliches I'm forgetting.

lol, classic wizard
Sad we don't play Brady this season, that's never a good sign.
Are you including the postseason? ;)
I'm used to Bucky Brooks projecting us a total reach who doesn't fill a need. This is a major deviation from the norm for him.
Flacco and Wallace are saying what they need to say in order to pay respect to their teammates. Fact is this team has a below-average receiving corps as-is. There's a reason our FO was close to signing Alshon Jeffery (according to RSR).
If you want a consolidated list of reasons to hate Joe Mixon, I've done the work for you:
---
Alleged incident from high school
QuoteWhen the Norman, Okla. police released a video in February in which they interviewed Molitor after the incident with Mixon, Molitor's lawyers read a report from someone named Anthony Hernandez, alleging that Mixon punched his daughter while he was high school.
"I know for a fact he threw my daughter to the ground and hit her. I went to the school and...they hid him in the office. He got no punishment. The police even came. I was escorted off the campus as if I did something wrong. These are simply the facts, he's a woman beater," the report said.

---
Orange Bowl presser excerpts concerning the Molitor incident
QuoteAre you sorry about what happened?
Mixon: “I won’t answer that.”
Do you have any regrets at all about anything?
Mixon: "No."
What did you learn about yourself during your one-year suspension?
Mixon: “What do you mean what did I learn?” (This was followed by Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck, seated next to Mixon and chiming in periodically, reiterating that Mixon only wants to answer football-related questions.)
Did the one-year suspension change you?
Mixon: “I don’t think it changed who I am, but it definitely made me a stronger person.”
What did you mean by your tweet in September, quickly deleted, that said this season is dedicated to your haters?
Mixon: “I know what I meant by it. Y’all just blew it out of proportion.”
How would you describe yourself as a person?
Mixon: “A great person. If you get to know me as a person, you’ll know how I am.”
Do you want to address what happened at some point in the future?
Mixon: “My lawyer will address it.”
When?
Mixon: “You’ve got to ask him.”

Intimidating a female parking attendant after being issued a citation (not long after being reinstated)
QuoteJoe Mixon was so frustrated with a parking citation that he tore up the ticket in front of the parking attendant and threw it at the parking attendant.
Mixon reportedly approached the parking attendant right after the citation was written.
"Don't put that [stuff] in my face," Mixon told the attendant, the incident report states.
Mixon then ripped the citation in half and threw it at the parking attendant.
Mixon then got into his vehicle and "inched at the officer with vehicle in drive to intimidate the officer with vehicle," the report details.
Worth mentioning because I saw Charlie Campbell suggest the Ravens as a fit for Mixon, as absurd as that is to suggest in the wake of the RR saga.
OJ Howard or Derek Barnett
Zay Jones
Sidney Jones
Tanoh Kpassagnon
Zay Jones is probably going to sneak into the back of the first, however. Sidney Jones will be a 2nd rounder most likely. Kpassagnon might be available in round 3. Hopefully we address LG and C in draft and/or FA lol
Kiper had Barnett falling to 28 in a recent mock; gave us Lamp at #16
QuoteRound 1 (16): Forrest Lamp, OG, Ball State
Round 2 (47): T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin
Round 3 (74): Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
Round 3 (78): Carlos Henderson, WR, Louisiana TechLamp is the best guard in this class and won't last long if he gets past the Ravens at 16. After a run on pass-rushers, Baltimore might not like the outside linebackers available, so it could get Lamp, who'll be a Day 1 starter at left guard or center. Then the Ravens' best-case scenario would be a 3-4 pass-rusher such as Watt falling to them in the second round. At 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, T.J. is a much different player than his brother J.J., but he's a solid player. I'm not as high on him as some -- he started only one season -- but you can't deny his production, including 11.5 sacks and 63 total tackles. Butt might have been a top-40 pick if he hadn't torn his ACL in Michigan's Orange Bowl loss. Dennis Pitta took a pay cut to remain in Baltimore, but the Ravens still need an eventual replacement. Henderson isn't big (5-foot-11, 199 pounds), but he's explosive (4.46 40 and 36-inch vertical). He's also my No. 2-ranked kick returner.
21 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Mosley had a laundry list of injury concerns. Timmy Jernigan was rumored to be lazy and wouldnt stay in shape, also turned in a diluted drug test and wouldn't take a second one. Kindle himself had duis in college.
Those are earlier though, after the ray rice debacle things have definitely changed.
The Mosley one I remember, now that you mention it (it was the sole reason I didn't want him lol). Jernigan's diluted sample controversy always seemed overblown to me though. I'm unfamiliar with any Alex Lewis pre-draft concerns, although he wasn't a high pick anyway.
If we're including players with motivational problems, then add Carl Davis.
I wasn't sure where to post it the other day, but multiple media outlets are reporting that McCaffrey received a draft guarantee from a team in the teens.
Honestly, of all the quality posters on this forum, I think I might miss Wizard1 most of all after this forum closes. I honestly enjoyed his shtick where he pretended to be a pessimistic fan, lamenting over the innovative new ways that we were going to lose each week. His was non-confrontational divisional trolling at its finest.
I honestly hope he's wrong in asserting that the knee injury wasn't the cause of his terrible performance last season, otherwise it would mean that he is declining for some other reason. There's hope he improves from last season if it was just his knee bothering him: he wasn't stepping into his throws, and he was much less accurate as a result. I hope the knee was just on his mind, causing hesitation when he should have been stepping into his throws--that might be an easier fix.

This would eliminate a lot of options but some that would still be in play are Mike Williams, Hasaan Reddick, Derek Barnett, Taco Charlton and Adoree Jackson to name a few
Is that really a bold prediction? Seems most of our picks after the RR saga have been "clean" prospects. From what I can tell, Jimmy Smith was the last guy we drafted high with character concerns, and Kindle was the last guy we drafted high with medical concerns.
15 hours ago, jazz1988 said:I know Perriman dropped some passes last year and I'm not saying he's a proven receiver yet but i don't think he did totally nothing last year either. The guy caught 50 percent of his passes, had 499 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns while averaging 15 yards per catch.. It's not even unreasonable to think that his rookie season would have been similar to Torrey Smith rookie season if he had more targets/snaps on offense. I thought Perriman showed some growth as a receiver and season went on last year but of course he still has more to prove.
It sounds like you're suggesting that Perriman has potential, which I agree with, but he's not yet a player that I can comfortably slot as a future starter for years to come. To put what I am suggesting another way, there is nothing about the existence of Perriman or Moore that would preclude me as a GM from drafting multiple WRs. Even if Perriman turns out to be a solid starter, we still need more receivers for the future.
39 minutes ago, allblackraven said:I would absolutely hate him or any other running back at 16 this year
I'm not saying I would hate Fournette at #16, but I would be slightly disappointed over drafting a RB. I think Fournette is slightly overrated as a top-5 pick; something in the 8-16 range seems more appropriate to me. To put it another way, I'd be more excited if we drafted a less highly ranked player like Howard or Barnett.

A walk down memory lane. This all describes me to a T (except I disliked the Mosley pick from a durability standpoint and not from a positional standpoint).
I'm happy any time our FO proves me wrong, however.
