Nooo, don't give Cincy more picks
Welp, at least Zay Jones isn't going to a division rival
Just now, GrimCoconut said:Ted Thompson looks like he's lost and doesn't know where he is.
He looked like he was really spaced out lol.
I've got my mini-big board ready
Zay Jones (reminds me of Deandre Hopkins)
Forrest Lamp (probably unrealistic to fall)
Melifonwu (probably going to the Seahawks, but if not, he's an intriguing H/W/S prospect)
Tanoh Kpassagnon (5T DE who needs development, but has a high ceiling)
Tim Williams (Could be a great DPR or a drug suspension bust)
Budda Baker (undersized FS)
JuJu Smith-Schuster (Boldin clone)
Tyus Bowser (ideal rush-LB, needs development, high ceiling)
Carl Lawson (ideal rush-LB with first round talent and extensive injury problems)
Malachi Dupre (I think he's very underrated due to LSU's OC and QB problems, guy gets open and makes tough catches)
Zach Cunningham (ILB who excels in pass coverage but is a bit lightweight to take on blockers)
Jordan Willis (undersized DPR)
Cam Robinson (if they see him as a LG, an ok pick)
Ahkello Witherspoon (good corner with great length)
Sidney Jones (first-round corner before achilles tear)
Kareem Hunt (love his balance and ability to get yards after contact, reminds me of Dixon tbh)
Cooper Kupp (white guy slot receiver with some size)
Pat Elflein (fits our blocking scheme more than Pocic, and we need a C)
I really don't want Wormley unless it's day 3, but he's projected round 2 in many drafts... He's the type of underwhelming high-character guy we're stuck on drafting lately.
Also don't want Mixon or Dalvin Cook for character reasons. McDowell I've decided I don't want based on character unless it's late.

Let me call Zierlein real quick - he said #11 to the Saints
Is McShay on your side - nope he had him at #19
How 'bout Kiper - try again, he had him at 28
Perhaps you should slow down on the powder and actually watch a player, because late second rounder is laughable. Link me the "experts" that you're talking about.
Pretty sure Charlie Campbell had him #10 on his big board.

Yeah, that's a good point. The athleticism is enticing, but he just seems like someone who doesn't care. Harbaugh got rid of Jernigan for less.

If it's in the 3rd, I honestly wouldn't be mad. It's overkill, but the value is too good. Jimmy, Humphrey, Young, Jones, Carr: the depth for 2017 would be unreal. He probably won't be there anyway, but it's funny to think about.
Anyone have some players they absolutely don't want? There's some easy ones with character or injury issues, but I'm more talking about talent-wise.
The list of do-wants is easier to make imo.
15 minutes ago, Grapple Raven said:You and me both! I am telling you Zay is going to be the steal of this draft and I am prayin' to the WR
that we land him. Zay is an excellent route runner, has perfect hands, catches everything that comes his way, he can block too, he has a high football IQ, great work ethic, and his dad was a 1st round draft pick which is something that the Ravens covet having that NFL DNA. Please Ravens draft this guy!!!
I'm probably going to be called crazy for saying this, but he reminds me of Deandre Hopkins. Really the only knocks on him are that he isn't a vertical threat and he didn't run a complex route tree in college.
2 hours ago, jdynamite said:Lets recall Ozzie's Bama connections also led to T.Cody.
And im one of the few that actually liked C.Upshaw even though he never pass rushed, I appreciate grunt work
Of the recent Bama draft picks only Mosley has lived up to expectations.
In the presser, Oz alludes to the fact that he expected Foster and Allen to be available at pick #16. It suggests that teams knew those players were going to tumble. Our FO was not the only one bearish on their potential, as is quite apparent.
Anyway, I'm fine with the Humphrey pick; the value was adequate. Doesn't fill the biggest immediate need, but it would have been a position we needed to address in the future, considering Carr is turning 31 and has been in decline the past couple seasons. I would rather have had OJ Howard or traded down, but I'm glad we dodged Foster and Cam Robinson. Here's hoping he develops into a solid outside corner.
Players I want:
I've been really high on Zay Jones, ranking him among Ross and Davis and ahead of Williams. He's the player I want more than anyone else for day 2.
Sidney Jones would be a good value pick, although I seriously doubt we go back to back at CB lol.
Lamp is unrealistic to fall, but a no-brainer pick if he's there.
Cam Robinson would be a fine round 2 pick if we don't trade up and if they consider him a LG.
Malik McDowell would be an ideal 5-tech and likely an upgrade over Urban and Kaufusi, although he's going to have motivation problems, and he needs a lot of coaching. Typical boom/bust prospect.
I'm really high on Kpassagnon, since he seemed to be a monster for OL to handle when I watched him at the Senior Bowl, he's physically impressive, and he's an ideal 5-tech, which we are very thin at with Urban and Kaufusi. He's probably more of a late 2nd rounder/early 3rd rounder though.
Tyus Bowser is an intriguing rush LB prospect, although I can't say I know much about him because I've never watched him.
I'm intrigued by Tim Williams, but I am very put-off by his failed drug tests. I'll trust in Ozzie's Bama connections if they end up going that route.
-----
As for the Humphrey pick, I was pretty neutral when we picked him. The value is appropriate: physically he's an ideal outside corner, he has a high ceiling, and he was durable in college (knock on wood that he stays that way). I was relieved that we passed on Foster and Robinson, but I was disappointed we passed on OJ Howard, whom I viewed as a top-10 prospect. Some critics say that it doesn't fill a need, which may be true for 2017, but I don't think Brandon Carr is someone you can project as a starting outside corner for years to come, considering he has declined over the past couple years, and he's only getting older (about to turn 31). They are bringing Humphrey into a good situation where he doesn't need to start right away (if everyone comes out of TC healthy), so I like it for that reason. It's a fine pick.
After seeing Kiper and McShay's mocks today, I'm about ready to toss them aside as anything more than click-bait lol.
I appreciate the input.
11 minutes ago, Jacquouille said:Matt Miller above all else, and I also like Mayock's and Jeremiah's hindsight, although they tend to make some strange picks at times. Brooks is good but at times he tends to put a Captain Obvious cap.
Bucky Brooks tends to always make a few glaringly dumb picks in his drafts from my observations over the years.
This seems like a tough draft to predict our pick, made tougher by the fact that I think there's about a 50% chance we trade down.
I'm going to lean Cam Robinson. This is based on our reported interest from Pauline and Campbell, the need for a LG, Robinson's capability to play LG, the Ravens' desire to build an elite Cowboys-like OL as suggested by Matt Miller, and the Ozzie-Bama favoritism. Plus it's a reach, so he's likely to be available at #16. I hope I'm wrong, but it all reminds me of the Mosley pick where everything just seemed to line up way ahead of the draft.
There's a lot of random analysts out there, but who do you pay the most attention to? Some names I think of are...
Mike Mayock: I appreciate that he's not pressured to do a mock every week/month, he's intelligent, and he actually talks with team/league sources.
Charlie Campbell: He seems pretty well connected, and he knows the prospects well, but I'm a little annoyed he's clung to the Cam Robinson rumor so strongly for an entire month. Keep in mind they clung to the Rams/Wentz rumor until the bitter end based purely off of one incorrect rumor they received/reported.
Kiper and McShay: I guess they're the biggest names thanks to B$PN, but I wonder how much they actually communicate with NFL sources.
Daniel Jeremiah: He seems to know who we pick before we pick them lol, possibly because he has a good idea of who our FO tends to like after working in our FO as a scout. Pretty sure he got the Mosley and Stanley picks correct.
Matt Miller: I don't really read BR, but I know others like him a lot.
Anyone else?
So just to summarize various rumors I've heard..
Matt Miller from BR says we're leaning pass-rusher in the first; OL in the later rounds
A Rumor by Matt Miller suggests Ozzie wants to build an elite OL like the Cowboys.
Charlie Campbell has projected us to take RT/LG (probably LG) Cam Robinson for like a month now because our scouts were supposedly very interested in him (quite possible, given the Bama connection)
Tony Pauline is saying we're very interested in Cam Robinson, although EDGE Takk McKinley is also an interest in a trade-down scenario.
LG/C Forest Lamp's agent made an ominous tweet about being drafted by the Ravens. Again, a pretty meaningless rumor. Also some guy named Chad Forbes at "Draft Bites" said one of our OL coaches really liked Lamp. Hensley slotted us Lamp in some recent ESPN mock where they ask all of the local reporters to make picks.
Jeff Zrebiec: "If Reddick or Foster falls, I say one of them. If both are gone, I think they'll choose between Corey Davis and Forrest Lamp."
Aaron Wilson: "Ravens have considerable interest in Western Michigan WR Corey Davis, per league sources, one of their stronger options at current slot."
WR Corey Davis also made a tweet about he and the Ravens having a good interview at his private meeting, for whatever that's worth (very little).
I guess there's nothing really positive about Correa to preclude us from drafting someone in the same mold anyway. I wouldn't be totally upset with Reddick for the upside.
An article from McShay regarding rumors he's heard.
Quote1. How many QBs will go in Round 1? My guess is three, based on talking to folks in the league: North Carolina's Mitchell Trubisky, Clemson's Deshaun Watson and Texas Tech's Patrick Mahomes. The one name I keep hearing a bunch is Cal's Davis Webb. Some people like him a lot more than I do. I'm not sure that means he'll go in Round 1, but he's a name to keep an eye on.
2. Alabama ILB Reuben Foster and Florida State RB Dalvin Cook are two players who have gotten a lot of attention in draft circles for off-field concerns. Their status varies depending on the team you're talking to, but Cook appears to have the potential to fall a little bit more than Foster. Here's the latest based on what I've heard:
On Foster: One person I spoke to said the Indianapolis Colts could end up being the parachute pick for Foster at No. 15 overall, given how they're trying to overhaul the defensive side of the ball. If he doesn't go there, the Redskins two picks later could be in play.
On Cook: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers really like Cook and will strongly consider him if he's on the board at No. 19. The concerns with Cook are who he surrounds himself with, so keeping him in the state of Florida would be a risk, considering that's where he went to college and grew up (Miami).
3. Are the Browns really waffling on taking Myles Garrett No. 1 overall? One person in the league told me you can bet as much as you want on Cleveland taking the Texas A&M pass-rusher. The biggest question facing the Browns: Do they sit patiently at pick No. 12 or try to move up for a quarterback? Everything I've pieced together is that they like Trubisky the best among the quarterbacks. There's some thought that Cleveland might have to trade ahead of the Jets at No. 6 if they really want the North Carolina QB.
4. Speaking of the Jets: I've been getting mixed reports on whether they're really interested in Trubisky, or if they're just trying to making it appear like they are so some team (like Cleveland) trades ahead of them. The latter strategy would make sense. Think about it: If Jets know they don't want to spend the sixth pick on a QB, the best possible scenario is to have someone trade above them and take a passer, leaving one more non-QB for the Jets to choose from.
5. Two teams continue to come up in conversations about Mahomes: the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. The closer we get to the draft, I'm not sure the Texas Tech QB will still be around when the Chiefs are on the clock at No. 27 overall.
6. One interesting nugget I've picked up on when talking to teams about quarterbacks: Those that don't need a passer prefer Watson. They cite his intangibles and the ability to raise his play in the biggest moments. Trubisky and Mahomes seem to be of more interest among teams that actually need a QB. I'm having a hard time narrowing down exactly where Watson will go.
7. From the people I talk to, the Carolina Panthers are getting a lot of love as a landing spot for Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey at No. 8 overall -- even if LSU's Leonard Fournette is still on the board. You can certainly make the case for the Panthers going that direction, considering they have a need at both running back and slot receiver, and McCaffrey could help fill both holes. One interesting connection: Lance Taylor, who's now Carolina's receivers coach, was McCaffrey's running backs coach for three seasons at Stanford.
8. If McCaffrey slips past Carolina at No. 8, New Orleans would be an interesting landing spot for him at No. 11, but I'm not sure how Adrian Peterson potentially signing with the Saints would affect that thinking. Regardless, there's a strong likelihood New Orleans will end up taking a pass-rusher or defensive back at No. 11. Three names to keep an eye on: Tennessee DE Derek Barnett, Temple ILB Haason Reddick and Ohio State S Malik Hooker. During the Saints' three-year playoff drought, they've ranked near the bottom of the league in a host of defensive categories, including points per game. It wouldn't surprise me to see New Orleans use each of its first-round picks to address its defense.
9. Everyone I've talked to has mentioned the same three teams as being the most interested in trading down. Let's run through them individually:
Tennessee Titans: This is the team in the top 10 that's most likely to trade down. Jon Robinson showed a willingness to move up and down the board in his first draft as GM, and the Titans want to recoup the second-rounder they lost in the deal to move up and draft OT Jack Conklin last year. So there could be mutual interest between Tennessee and a team looking to trade above the Jets for a QB. If the Titans are unable to work out a deal, I'm hearing they'll take the best defensive back on the board, with Jamal Adams and Marshon Lattimore being the two favorites. Hooker, the Ohio State safety, is also an option, but his recent surgeries are a wild card.
Assuming they get a DB with their first pick, the Titans will be hoping that Clemson WR Mike Williams falls to No. 18, where Tennessee picks again. Based on what I'm hearing, though, Western Michigan's Corey Davis is much more likely than Williams to fall that far.
Chicago Bears: The Bears have five picks in the first four rounds, but they wouldn't mind adding a few more to the pile. If they're unable to find a trade partner, I keep hearing Adams' and Solomon Thomas' names come up in connection with Chicago. For a while I thought Alabama DL Jonathan Allen was in play -- and he could still be -- but I'm not hearing as much buzz about that anymore. Everyone is speculating whether Allen could fall over concerns surrounding his shoulder. I've gotten mixed opinions throughout the league on his medical prognosis.
San Francisco 49ers: The thinking here is that there's just not a big difference between a player you're going to pick at No. 2 and the one coming off the board around No. 12. Plus, this is a very deep draft in Rounds 2-4. The three names I hear the most for the 49ers if they're unable to move down: Thomas, Adams and Lattimore. Adams would make a ton of sense. He's probably the cleanest player in this entire draft, both on and off the field. It's not hard to imagine former safety John Lynch using his first pick as San Francisco's GM on Adams, considering it's a position of need.
10. Maybe it's recency bias, but it feels like this draft has more top players with character or durability issues than any other I can remember. Just in the past week, we've had Foster and Michigan S Jabrill Peppers test positive for dilute samples and Florida DT Caleb Brantley get charged with battery for allegedly punching a woman. More of my conversations than in other years seem to be centered around teams searching for the cleanest players in the draft. It's one of the reasons guys like Adams, McCaffrey and Alabama TE O.J. Howard -- all of whom could be top-10 picks -- are picking up steam while others are falling.
11. According to folks I've talked to, it's not likely Hooker comes off the board in the first five picks, but I feel really good about saying he'll be selected somewhere between Nos. 6 and 13. The Jets, Chargers, Saints, Browns and Cardinals all have a varying degree of need at safety in that range.
12. Reddick, the Temple LB, really boosted his stock with his performances at the Senior Bowl and combine. Multiple people I talked to think he will be a top-15 pick and wouldn't be shocked if he went in the top 10.
13. Houston pass-rusher Tyus Bowser is another player who will probably go earlier than the public perception. I was told from a high-ranking personnel exec that Bowser will be a first-round pick. Multiple teams picking near the bottom of Round 1 have a need at pass-rusher.
14. Barnett, the Tennessee pass-rusher, is one of the most debated players within draft rooms right now. Those advocating for him point to his elite production, instincts and hand usage as pass-rusher, while others are holding his athletic limitations/tightness against him. He could come off the board as high as No. 9 overall to the Bengals, according to one person I spoke to. I feel good saying Barnett will end up being a top-20 pick when it's all said and done.
Here are a few other players being widely debated, along with the range in which they could be selected:
Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama: Pick No. 15 to the end of Round 1
T.J. Watt, OLB Wisconsin: Late first round to late second round
Kevin King, CB, Washington: Late first round to middle second round
Marlon Humphrey, CB Alabama: Between picks 20 and 50
Adoree' Jackson, CB, USC: Late first round to middle second round

I was told two interesting nuggets on the Baltimore Ravens last night: 1) if they hold onto the 16th selection, offensive tackle Cam Robinson enters the conversation as the pick and 2) if they trade down, the target is likely Takkarist McKinley, a favorite of Ozzie Newsome over the past six months.
I might actually want Robinson now, given the other option lol. Takk may have a good motor, but he's so raw. I only want him if he's a 2nd round pick; first round is too high for someone who requires so much development.
2 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Tbf Alabama doesn't seem to coach linemen well. When is the last time a quality G or T has come out of Alabama? Wouldn't exactly hold the program in high regards there
Chance Warmack, DJ Fluker, Barrett Jones, and the Kouandjio brothers aren't really good names to follow lol.
I'm not seeing where Peppers is a poor tackler tbh. His coverage opportunities and plays in coverage were lacking, but he's nothing like Elam as a tackler.
For what it's worth, Landon Collins was a pure box safety at Alabama before becoming a pretty decent all-around safety for the Giants, at least if he continues his progression, so it's not like coverage skills can't be learned. I'm strongly against Peppers at #16, but round 2 would be fine with me.
7 hours ago, trevorsteadman said:No lie I hopped on the Hasaan Reddick train early in the process and I am always afraid of the late risers. But watching his film he does everything right and he is everywhere. He has that natural pass rushing ability to play OLB or he has that tracking and closing speed that would be good at a Will linebacker for this team. Unfortunately he will likely be gone by 16 now, but if he is somehow there, I think the Ravens should take him. He is too good to pass up.
#16 is way too early to take a project LB who is too light to play the line every down. That's basically what we have already with Correa.
Ideally he goes to a 4-3 team where he can play will-backer and then rush the passer on obvious passing downs.
In Sandusky's tweet at the bottom, he doesn't really explain why it can't be Ravens/Browns and Steelers/Bengals to end the season...

As for the 1st, I want Reddick.
There seem to be several users on this forum high on Elflein, which surprises me a bit because other forums I use are less-high on him, putting him even with or below Pocic
