  1. You must not have been here after the Panthers game. The sky was falling, just as it is now for some capricious fans.
  2. I'm thinking Butler will probably be kicked down to the practice squad. We hear about the amazing catches he makes in practice, but I have yet to really see it in-game (he almost made a nice catch vs NO iirc). Although last year, Aiken was seemingly a practice warrior who failed to show up in preseason, and yet he still made the team, so who knows. SS89, Perriman, Camp, Waller, Aiken, Brown--that seems like a solid 6 right there. Not sure who you'd remove for Butler. I used to think Brown could be a dark-horse cut, but Butler doesn't seem good enough to supplant him. We'll see.
  3. I'd like to know how many penalties were declined. We were penalized over 20 times, even if only 17 were accepted.
  4. Honestly, every Terps WR in the past few years has been under-utilized because we haven't had a good QB since that one inexplicable season /w O'Brien.
  5. I love watching Camp play. He's a killer against zone defense, which is primarily what he did at Wake Forest; he just needed to learn how to actually run routes, and he has. I think he's actually more athletic than Welker ever was, but maybe I'm just remembering the old Welker.
  6. I like our guys.
  7. "There was reportedly a scuffle on another field between backups before Eagles quarterback Tim Tebow stepped in to help break it up." Why am I not surprised lol.
  8. I thought Brooks did alright for a rookie last year. A lot of the time he was in the right spot, but he just didn't make the play. I hope he heals up to where he once was, since that speed he had was one of his greatest assets.
  9. I like that they're combining practice /w the Eagles. That's a good high-tempo team to work against.
  10. Our TEs looked a whole hell of a lot better than the Steelers' Jesse James, that's for sure. Sniping Maxx Williams will be something they have to live with for years to come. And we should all be rooting for Tyrod's success, not only because it makes our organization look good, but because playing time and performance with the new team are taken into account when handing out compensatory picks.
  11. What did you guys think of the Art Brown vs Orr battle? I thought Brown made a nice play shooting the gap and tackling the RB for a loss near the end there. He got beat by a TE on one play, but it took a nice touch pass to do it. Orr made some plays too, didn't do anything wrong from what I could tell.
  12. Oz seems to have missed on Arthur Brown (I hope he proves us wrong), but he seems to have hit on another UDFA gem in Orr. I guess it all evens out. Can't be too disappointed.
  13. I'm disappointed Arthur Brown never became a good player (since I thought highly of him before the draft), but I guess I should be happy we have a gem UDFA developing in Zachary Orr.
  14. I'm more inclined to believe that Schaub getting picked off by Elam repeatedly is more a sign of Schaub's decline than Elam's improvement, but I hope I'm mistaken. And lol @ the Steelers trying to build an intimidating defense with that roster. I would not be the least-bit shocked if they have the 32nd ranked defense after losing LeBeau, Polamalu, Ike Taylor, Keisel, and Worilds. Granted, Polamalu and Taylor were washed up, but their defense is still worse than last year's, and their pass defense was 6th worst as it was. Kind of hard to win in this league with no pass rush and a terrible secondary.
  15. Pocket-passing QBs age kind of like pitchers in baseball. They tend to hit their stride in their mid-20s and play effectively well into their 30s, even early 40s.
  16. I think we will use our WR depth a lot more than most teams and rotate to find mismatches. Fantasy football geeks and stat geeks will probably hate it, but I think our WRs will combine to put up some decent stats.
  17. I haven't given up on Camp. If (big if) he can recover from his quad injury in time for training camp, he'll have a good opportunity to make this team. The biggest factor working against him is the success of DeAndre Carter, who seems to fill the exact same role as a slot receiver and punt returner. I understand why many have given up on him, but those few plays where he was healthy he looked damn good.
  18. Perriman, my bro, you gotta cut that hair. Most of us have gone or will go through what you're going through, some earlier than others. It's time to let it go and accept baldness with dignity.
  19. 15 pounds of muscle
  20. I wouldn't even say Perriman is a shoo-in to be the clear-cut #2. Torrey Smith had to wait to claim that spot as a rookie, and he did so in-part because Lee Evans got injured.
  21. I forgot about how heavily Trestman relied upon screen passes for his running game last year lol. I hope he doesn't do that here, but then he was forced to do that in Chicago because their O-line is/was bottom-5 in overall talent.
  22. My vote is for Maxx Power. And we can all sing this song: Maxx Power--he's a man whose name you'd like to touch. But you mustn't touch... His name sounds good in your ear. But when you say it, you mustn't fear, 'cause his name can be said by anyone.
  23. I'm wondering if Pitta being healthy would limit us to 5 WRs. I'm fully expecting a surprise cut in training camp, maybe Aiken or Brown.
  24. Well to be fair, it was his mother who failed to notice that part of the argument.
  25. The only thing I really dislike about it is the surprise 2pt conversion is taken away. Remember that Week 1 game vs the Steelers when Koch just walked into the endzone near the end of a blowout victory? That is no longer possible.
