Jags won this draft
We better get a third round comp out of KO!!!
This will be me if we pick Laquon on draft night LOL.

You are a special WR when your game tape shows you laying mean blocks on LINEBACKERS. Laquon is the WR version of Cam Newton.

I see by your avatar you're not at all biased. Ozzie favors FSU? That's interesting since he's only taken Jernigan and Brooks recently and both came from the same draft. That hardly seems like him favoring one program. Look at his recent first round/first draft picks. He's taken Perriman, Mosley, Elam, Upshaw, Smith, Oher, and Grubbs. Only two of them didn't come from the SEC.
I don't think Ozzie favours FSU. I think he favours defensive prospects from programs with dominant defenses. Ramsey just happened to be part of two of the best defenses in the country in 2013 and this year where he played an integral parts in both years which lead to FSU's defensive dominance.
On your SEC point, I don't think Ozzie is biased to one conference because of good competition. Ozzie or any GM for that matter should not evaluate talent based solely on the conference the prospect played in. I know your argument is based off the history and trends of Ozzie's 1st round picks and how most of them come from a particular conference, but I think competition is just a small variable in the FO's prospect evaluation process. If a prospect dominates at the collegiate level in any conference, I believe Ozzie will see their talent regardless of the competition they faced.
Yeah, I can see the Diggs comp.
I forgot to say that I'm not sure we take Ramsey over Hargreaves. Ozzie really does like the SEC. I think he would go with Hargreaves over Ramsey, honestly.
I honestly don't think conference matters in this case. Ozzie has definitely been eyeing the FSU defense for a couple years now after the stellar defense FSU had in 2013 when Ramsey was a freshman at safety and after we drafted Jernigan and Brooks in that same year. Statistically FSU and LSU have had the best DB prospects in the country since 2013 Draft with FSU having Xavier Rhodes, Joyner, Darby and LSU having Tyrann Mathieu and Eric Reid. I don't think there have been any notable Gator DBs since 2013. If a were Ozzie I think I would've lost some faith in the Florida Gator prospects after Elam, but that's just me.
Anyways, having a good safety prospect is rare nowadays, but having a good safety who is versatile enough to be an exceptional CB is pretty much unheard of. Ramsey has the two traits you look in a good safety: tough and smart, but Ramsey's added bonus that makes him stand out and special is his intangibles (instincts and swagger). You can say that Ramsey's flaws is that he's not a ballhawk (which I will admit his hands aren't great, but with his athleticism he is bound to be a playmaker and cause turnovers) and that he gambles too much (but isn't that what made Ed Reed great?). Other than Ramsey's need to slightly bulk up, Ramsey is the prototypical safety with 6'1" frame who can blitz and cover and can jump out of the gym (the guy holds the third best long-jump in school history and could be on the Olympic team tomorrow if his heart very so pleased) which could be a valuable asset on special teams blocking punts and FG. Ramsey can be a game-changer (or -wrecker) on two fronts of the game (defense and ST) and has all the measurables and immeasurables. What more can you ask for in a DB prospect?
I don't care where or how high we pick. I'd rather tumble down the draft board a bit and put the Steelers in a position of mediocrity. Not too high on the draft board and not being able to compete for the Lombardi. The win yesterday put the Steelers in the worst possible spot. And the bragging rights that come with sweeping a division rival with a backup QB is priceless.
Where is Upshaw?
Round 1: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida
He’s been widely seen as one of the very best CB prospects the past two years, and would’ve likely been the top CB selected last year if he was eligible. He hasn’t demonstrated all the playmaking skills you want, but he’s very good and has leadership, played at a high level for years, and is technically sound.
Round 2: Yannick Ngakoue, Edge Defender, Maryland
One of the best OLB in the country, great use of hands, ridiculous first-step, explosive off the ball, and is arguably the most underrated OLB in the country. He played well against quality NFL-offensive linemen and beat many of them. Needs work as a DE but can learn behind Suggs and Dumervil.
Round 3: Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
Shifty and smooth route-runner with great hands with nice/adequate deep speed that should complement what we have in Perriman. Projects as a better and more durable Campanaro.
Round 4: Joe Dahl, OT, Washington State
One of the more underrated LTs, allowed one sack all year, nice feet and hands, smooth pass-protector but needs work in run blocking. He could rise after the combine, but this is where he will likely go.
Round 4 (Gino Trade): Brandon Facyson, CB, Virginia Tech
A good CB who I think gets lost in the CB shuffle this year, but he’s a competent player I expect we will look at taking as Ozzie Newsome doubles-down on the position after securing Hargreaves
Round 4 (McPhee Comp): Kevin Byard, S, Middle Tennessee
I wanted to take a guy like Bell or Thompson, but I think they are gone before we select. I do think one of them could potentially fall because safeties typically don’t go where projected. If Thompson or Bell is here, I would take them but Byard is a good consolation and has a nose for the ball.
Round 4 (Smith Comp): Nick Kwiatkowski, ILB, West Virginia
He’s a little light for the position but covers well, can play ST, and is a playmaker who is a good replacement for Arthur Brown/Albert McClellan if either of them aren’t back next year.
PS: It's only the first four rounds. I neglected the two 6th round picks (likely, anyway) and obviously projected McPhee as only a 4th when he may net a 3rd.
*Ramsey
Ngakoue
Shepard
Nonetheless, I'd still be very happy with VH3. Does Shepard not remind you of Stefon Diggs or what?
if he falls because of a 40 time well then lucky us, because I don't think Ozzie would read very much into that. He's a easy 2nd rounder in my eyes
What made you pick Hargreaves over Ramsey?
yannick appears much better imo, i was never very impressed with orchard and i preferred kikaha by a mile, just like i prefer yannick to guys like nassib and calhoun who are expected to rise
Oh sorry, I wasn't comparing Yannick to Orchard play-style wise. I was comparing their draft situations. Both guys are slower pass rushers that have draft stocks that are up in the air because of their poor 40 times. Orchard's draft stock actually rose by the end of the process only because of the Senior Bowl, but I don't think Yannick has that luxury to prove himself because he's a Junior.
I know some teams will care about his 40 but we better not be one. He's fast off the ball and that's what's most important for me. You may be right. I'll be happy if you are. He's a baller.
Bank on it. Yannick is this year's Nate Orchard.
Yannick will definitely drop because of his poor 40 time. He has a projected 4.70. That's not the typical speedy rusher teams are looking for these days. We will steal him in the 3rd leaving and bring in Tyler Boyd with the second round pick. Doctson, Treadwell, Michael Thomas and Corey Coleman are all ranked higher than Boyd in my books so its a probable Boyd will be there with our high second round pick. The DUI also sets him back.
With just Urban's first game, he's already put himself on the map. #promising
People forget how the great Ravens defense was built back in the day. It all started in the middle out. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were the centrepieces but now those days have come and gone. We have a pretty good MLB in Mosley who is doing his thing conducting the front 7. All we are missing is the centrepiece of the secondary, which I think will be Jalen Ramsey playing safety. The guy has a demeanor about him that spells don't throw the ball or get knocked out. Ramsey is the missing piece to the great traditional Ravens defense we have all come to know. Ramsey or nothing.
If we don't draft Ramsey I will honestly be sad and disappointed for a while. It would HURT seeing him play for any other team. I've been on this guy since day 1.
Ramsey> everyone
That was like me with Gurley, and my heart was broken when the Rams drafted him. I must say, the Ravens chances of attaining Ramsey are a lot higher than getting Gurley last year so your dream might very well come true and I hope they do. He's honestly the best prospects in this draft and it's not even close.
"Made his first career start at Pitt on Sept. 2, becoming the first true freshman to start at cornerback since Deion Sanders in 1985"
Yea, he's a generational talent.
Draft Ramsey and pair him with Will Hill. You get the best safety tandem since Ed Reed and Ed Reed
What was with the towel? Did he just not want people to see him crying or something? Do other players do that? I don't think I have seen that before.
Tearing anything is pretty painful even for a guy who's got such a high pain tolerance so he's probably grimacing and no one wants to see someone in such pain. Also, don't let the haters see you weak.
PS Steve Smith is not the type of guy who would cry.
Give Flacco a weapon and he will be great. I still have hope that Perriman can become that. #HaveYouSeenPerriman?
Yep
So why is Ronnie Staley so special all of a sudden
Why is everyone taking Ronnie Staley? Jalen Ramsey is clearly the best player in the draft.
Ngakoue has received some good praise from scouts. Sounds like he is a day 2 pick.
Ngakoue is a beast, I wouldn't be suprised if he went that early
I thought Higgins is sophomore.

Powers is like the Corey Graham signing. He'll be starting across from Jimmy.
