Crazy that Anthony Davis' 5 year $145M deal is worth $29M a year. If you didn't watch the NBA, you think he was an all pro NFL QB with that kind of money. Crazy to think Luck and Wilson may get a very similar contract.
The NBA signed a massive $24 B TV deal this year while the NFL has a $27 B contract in place. The NFL has a cap for a 53 man roster while its just a 15 man roster in the NBA. Until the NFL renews their TV contract in 2022, I don't think NFL teams will be shelling out that much money... just yet. Anyways, Davis is a beast and deserves that money. He's going to be the best player in the league in a couple of years.
People give Schaub way too much beef. Is he great? no, but he's easily a top tier backup and I am way more comfortable with him coming in if Flacco were to get injured (knock on wood) than whoever else we have (I think the next two on the roster are Renner and Lovelocke...).

If Russell Wilson genuinely wants to be the highest paid player in NFL history then he better prepare to be disappointed. No team will pay that much for a game manager. He isn't the kind of QB that can carry a team to a SB like Manning, his greatest asset is that he doesn't make too many mistakes but put him on a team without an elite defense and he'll crumble, he can't put a team on his back and make them winners, just not the player he is.
More dropped passes! I generally back up Ozzie but man i did not want perriman. Oh well at least we didn't take Landon Collins. Really wanted Malcolm brown tho, I can't believe he's still on the board
Do you think we could trade for the Bennett TE from Chicago? Aparently he is on the trade block, and maybe we are interested. The only reason why we might not trade for him is because his cap hit is too big and he is apparently a locker room cancer .
the byron jones is seriously picking up steam, what exactly is he considered? a cb or a s? and ill admit i dont know much about the kid but is he a jack of all trades or is he really just good enough to play lights out at either position?
Just started watching some tape on Landon Collins and after a couple minutes i found myself paying more attention to Bama's other safety Perry, i gotta say I'm a fan
Greg Jennings anyone?
A decade is a long time. Have you factored in how much technology has changed the way scouts evaluate prospects in the last decade. With nowadays's technology anybody can find any prospect no matter how small a school he comes from and evaluate them. Back in the day, the draft was a crap shoot, nowadays, it isn't as much so.
Greg Jennings anyone?
@BmoreBird22 I am convinced that there has not been any receiver worth taking in the first couple rounds of the draft without reaching. Use last year's draft as an example. Watkins, Evan, ODB were all picked before us. That leaves us with the number #1 ILB Mosley. After our pick, Cooks, Benjamin, Marquise Lee, Jordan Matthews and Paul Richardson are all picked so that leaves us with the #2 top-rated prospect Timmy.
Greg Jennings anyone?
"What is the difference taking a high WR as opposed to a high DL?" Well, first of all there are no top WR prospect when we pick but there usually is a top prospect on the defensive side of the ball. CJ was the #1 ILB prospect last year so Ozzie picked him over Kelvin Benjamin. Why? Because he was the 5th best WR prospect in the draft, not the #1 prospect.
Greg Jennings anyone?
Let me name a top WR we've drafted... THERE ARE NONE. Why? Because for the last decade all the top WR prospects have been taken in the top 10 while we have been picking below 20 for most of the decade and this is a passing league where WR are overvalued. The FO are not going to sell the house just to trade up and get the next Randy Moss even if there is one because that is too much risk.
Greg Jennings anyone?
... Demaryius broke his foot, Dez was a problem child, Graham was sooo raw playing only one year of football, Gronk had back surgery, TY was a small school prospect. They all had knocks to them but they just panned out and there would have been no way of knowing at the time. Ozzie just doesn't gamble as much as other GMs. Look at Mosley, he was probably the most consistent, non-flashy linebacker in last year's draft.
Greg Jennings just doesn't make that much sense...hes 31 and on decline. Last time he hit 1,000 yards was in 2010. Waste of cap space when we could grab Jaelen Strong for around a mil and get more production. marlon brown and Kamar Aiken and Camp all able to do as much as Jennings could
Greg Jennings anyone?
JoeyFlex5, u sir are all about the patterns and history and I like it. Ozzie usually tries to fill as many holes with cut/released players (so it doesn't affect his comp. picks) before the draft so he has the most flexibility to take the BPA during the draft. "No one holds Ozzie Newsome over a barrel"
