  1. Round 1: Laquan Treadwell, WR He could be the player we've been waiting for since the Cowboys snatched away Dez Bryant. If we can trade down and still get him, especially for a 2017 1st rounder, we take that deal all the way to the bank. If not, we take him and give Joe Flacco potentially his best set of receivers ever. Round 2: Desmond King, CB If he is here, he is a steal. We should trade up into the 20s if we need to for this guy. He fixes our interception problem in his rookie year, and is good for a couple wins on that strength alone. I love his play against the run, I love his zone and man coverage, I love his ball skills. I don't love his long speed. He is my favorite DB in the draft. Yes, over VH3, Ramsey, and Alexander. Round 3: Carl Lawson, OLB He is my favorite pure pass rushing 3-4 OLB by leaps and bounds. He immediately becomes a situational pass rusher and is a big improvement on Courtney Upshaw in that department. Health is a concern, but he has shown he has recovered and the rewards at a 3rd round price tags are simply obscene.
  2. Could we get the Rams 2017 1st rounder?
  3. I think in order of likelihood: 1. Ramsey 2. Treadwell 3. Trade down 3. VH3 4. Stanley 5. Trade up
  4. And his playmaking is also questionable considering his lack of picks. Sticking to a man is something our secondary could really use, but the ability to generate turnovers is even more important. And in the last 8 weeks, we gave up the fewest passing yards in the league and STILL lost. Turnovers are king.
  5. Delightful. I will refrain from making any picks until after the combine, because I'm clearly scaring my favorite prospects away from the draft.
  6. Noah Spence had an ecstasy problem, and that is a major issue for me. Reports are that these troubles are behind him, but I value leadership too much to take him over someone like Carl Lawson. I also have an embarrassingly large crush on Carl Lawson as a pass rusher. I looked at some more tape on him, and I'll take him in the second just to lock him down. Updated based on more tape:Round 1: Ronnie Staley, OT Brings stability to our offensive line. A huge reason for our failures this season, even prior to injury, was that Joe Flacco was throwing ducks off his back foot. He clearly did not have enough faith in his O-line to drive the ball where it needed to be. This happened on nearly every game ending pick (Denver, Arizona, need I go on?) Staley is a better pass protector than even Laremy Tunsil. Round 2: Carl Lawson, OLB He is my favorite pure pass rushing 3-4 OLB by leaps and bounds. He immediately becomes a situational pass rusher and is a big improvement on Courtney Upshaw in that department. Health is a concern, but he has shown he has recovered. He is a top 20 player to me based on more tape, and I am willing to trade into the bottom on the 1st or even the 20s for him. Round 3: Tyler Boyd, WR His availability at this spot is unlikely, but his could knock him down. This kid has broken most of the records of some guy named Larry Fitzgerald, and has a close personal relationship with our wide receiver coach Bobby Engram. Seems like a match made in heaven to me. Alternate 3rd Round Pick: Sterling Shepard, WR If Boyd is gone, Shepard is a great consolation prize. I might even like him more than Boyd based on 2015 tape, in which Boyd had way too few routes down the field. Shepard is a huge reason why Baker Mayfield has had such an excellent season, and could have value comparable to TY Hilton in the third round.
  7. Totally agree. I like him more than Tyler Boyd, I'd be willing to switch those picks if necessary.
  8. I'll admit I'm hoping we get him next year by trading down this year.
  9. I only wanted to include prospects I've actually watched tape on. If I see that is Fuller is a beast when I get around to him, I won't be opposed to a Treadwell-Fuller draft. BPA has to bow to some things, such as just numbers on the roster. If the BPA is a WR, and you've already drafter 3 with another 7 you already had, you shouldn't take that player.
  10. Agreed. I think we have to try and trade down for a 2017 first rounder. In this draft, someone is going to drop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Treadwell or Buckner to be there for us once we trade down into the 10s.
  11. Great question. Stanley and Treadwell are neck and neck for me, and it seemed excessive to take Treadwell and Boyd back to back considering we have plenty of (unproven) talent at WR. Many players we want would be lost if we stack too much at WR, especially high. There isn't a tackle I love in the second, and the value for a Stanley-Boyd pairing is higher than a Treadwell-Conklin pairing, for example. I'm not entirely satisfied with this myself. Need to do more looking at top of the 2nd round guys. But I really really want to trade back now for a 2017 first rounder. A team like the Rams looking for a quarterback comes to mind. Same for the Saints and Eagles. We can still get a great player in the 10s and be set up for a stacked 2017 draft. Someone like Myles Jack or even Treadwell or Buckner will slide to us.
  12. Adjusted by Desmond King staying in school: Round 1: Ronnie Staley, OT Brings stability to our offensive line. Round 2: Tyler Boyd, WR This kid has broken most of the records of some guy named Larry Fitzgerald, and has a close personal relationship with our wide receiver coach Bobby Engram. Seems like a match made in heaven to me.
  13. Wow. That is truly crushing.
  14. I'm beating a dead horse here so I'll apologize in advance. He sticks with his man most of the time, but those receivers are NFL open if that makes sense. And the throws in the NFL will actually be accurate, since the pass rush will not always be so drastic in the NFL as it consistently is for Clemson. Basically, his tape says he won't get egregiously beat and he will stay disciplined, unlike Ramsey. He isn't the best corner in this draft FOR US imo.
  15. He blocks like Larry Fitzgerald and breaks tackles like Dez Bryant. Time will tell if he runs routes like Antonio Brown, but he's certainly no slouch in that area either. Barring injury, he deserves top 10 consideration for sure.
  16. This. Ramsey has talent, and he could be the best player from this draft in three years. But he is boom or bust. This is our highest pick in a long time; we need a guaranteed winner.
  17. Alexander is like the reverse Ramsey. Ramsey has become pretty universally underrated and Alexander is now the next Revis. Let me pump the brakes. When you look at the tape, Alexander is sticky. BUT he benefits enormously from the Clemson pass rush. Most of the throws in his direction are off target, so passes aren't completed even when the receiver has a step. And with the number of poor throws that go his way, his pick numbers are disappointing to say the least. He's a good prospect, but he isn't as great as his numbers suggest.
  18. This trade would be highway robbery considering the talent in the 2017 draft and the depth in the 2016 draft. I'm taking it all day.
  19. I feel like we're forgetting something: a huge reason we went 5-11 is turniver differential. We had a -14 in that department. And 6 picks total. We don't need someone who might be a shutdown corner down the road, we need someone who gets interceptions right away. Put another way, we don't need Ronald Darby, we need Marcus Peters. Doesn't matter if he gives up 8 touchdowns if he gets 8 picks, especially with the improvement our defense has had in the last 9 games with Webb at free safety (during which we were the 2nd best defense in the NFL). The Chiefs are in the playoffs right now, and the difference between us and them is turnovers, plain and simple. Frankly, if we got Marcus Peters in the draft this year, I think we're 8-8 at the worst even with the injuries, and likely an AFC wild card.
  20. I vote trading down significantly to take Desmond King in the middle of the first round and hopefully getting a high pick in next year's class, which is looking loaded. Use the extra 2016 picks for Carl Lawson and BPA (who just happens to be a franchise LT) at the top of the second. Sterling Shepard in the 3rd. That's a dream 3 round draft that hits every one of our glaring needs.
  21. Went back through tape, and Desmond King is going to go in the middle of the first round. I would love for that lucky team to be us via trade back. We can pick up a receiver at the top of the second, or a pass rusher like Carl Lawson or Yannick Ngakoue.
  22. I like Ramsey, but unless our DC can use him like a bigger Tyrann Mathieu, I don't think he will play to his potential in Baltimore. That's why a "safer" pick like Treadwell is so popular. Frankly, a draft with Jalen Ramsey, Desmond King, and Carl Lawson would be epic. Last year was an offense heavy draft in which everyone got hurt. Just because they were hurt doesn't mean that 2016 will fail though and I can really see significant growth coming on that side of the ball even without an infusion of offensive rookies. The 2016 season will be decided by the 2015 draft class more than anything else. Except health of course.
  23. What are people's thoughts on trading for Joe Thomas? He basically admitted he might be okay with being traded depending on the next Browns coach.
  24. Depending on the next Philly coach, I think that is a solid spot to spend a pick on Laquon Treawell. Same with the Saints at 12. Trading down in the first and trying to get two high second rounders is looking better and better. The top of the second is going to be flush with value.
  25. If we got Laquon Treadwell, Desmond King, and Carl Lawson by maneuvering around the draft board as necessary, that would be... Can't think of an adjective strong enough.
