  1. It would be bold, but losing the 70th overall pick is no joke. That's a potential starter at that pick. Also, I doubt the Chargers would be willing to trade down regardless.
  2. Sure, it's all conjecture at this point. And there's no doubt that last season was an epic snowball on injuries, undisciplined play, poor refereeing, and downright bad luck. But I look back and think there were certain turning points that would have swung not just a game, but the entire season. Maybe I'm being too optimistic or feeding into hindsight too much, but I remember that even during the dismal season I could feel we were just that one playmaker away. And in many ways, I think the 2015 Chiefs were what the Ravens were hoping to be. Terrible start, epic regular season finish. A big key behind that were the 8 picks by the DROY Marcus Peters.
  3. Turnovers. We lost a preposterous 9 of our 11 total losses by one possession or less, and of course another loss (Jaguars) was actually a win. We have holes, undoubtedly, but I sincerely believe the biggest reason we went 5-11 was not our injuries, not our secondary getting torched (more in the first half due to big plays, tightened up some down the stretch), but our turnover differential.
  4. It's quite a trick though. And the perfect one when your QB is Joe "Reckless" Flacco.
  5. I largely agree with this, but then again we were a Marcus Peters away from making the playoffs last year, before Flacco got hurt at least. We need impact players and we'll take them at whatever position they come in, but to me Jack, Bosa, Ramsey, and maybe Buckner would all have to be gone. Maybe Hargreaves as well. Which of course is very possible.
  6. Top 4 picks: ILB Myles Jack/Bosa (whichever one makes it to us, would prefer Jack) CB William Jackson III DE Chris Jones OLB Yannick Ngakoue I think this is the draft pretty much every Raven fan is hoping for. I'd like to get some O-line help at some juncture too. Very underrated need with Wagner in his contract year. But these 4 picks would seriously revamp our defense for years to come.
  7. Are we agreed that Myles Jack is a better prospect overall then? Personally, I think Smith is a better athlete than football player. Granted he's still a great prospect based on his measurables, but he's not on the level of Myles Jack imo.
  8. Great question, and I have two answers: 1. Draft value: WJ3 will be available far later and I'm not convinced that he will be hugely worse than Ramsey. I think there's at least a 45% chance he'll be a better football player than Ramsey. 2. Ball skills: Ramsey's highlights tend to focus more on big hits than coverage, which reminds me more of Elam than I'm comfortable with. WJ3 has a significant history of producing turnovers and is burnt at about the same rate as Ramsey imo.
  9. My rankings: 1. Jalen Ramsey (based on ceiling and not floor. His floor is scary low imo) 2. VH3 (major concerns about height and long speed) 3. William Jackson III: my favorite corner in this draft. If the Steelers end up with him, which seems likely, I will be incredibly disappointed. Honestly think he will be the best corner out of this draft. 4. Mackensie Alexander: good cover man, but stats inflated by inordinate number of crappy passes in his vicinity. I'm baffled by his utter lack of interceptions. Haven't looked at enough corners for more analysis, but would add that Kendall Fuller is a third rounder to me based on athleticism. He is constantly getting burned in his 2015 tape.
  10. Top 1-2 punch: Myles Jack and William Jackson III.
  11. This year is shaping up nicely. We'll essentially be adding three first rounders to our roster (Perriman, 6th overall, and a pick that is very close to where we usually pick and almost definitely among our top 30 highest ranked players).
  12. Especially if a guy like William Jackson III makes it to our second round pick. Not only did he blow up the combine, but before that, his tape was high caliber.
  13. Yeah, based on tape he is a Kuechly-level player, except better against the pass (and slightly worse against the run). Freak of an athlete, loves the game, playmaker. If he's there we should sprint to the podium. I have him over big time guys like Bosa and Ramsey myself.
  14. Sterling Shepard is the name to watch. He would be a steal in the 3rd; he is a huge reason why Baker Mayfield had such an exceptional year. If we got him somehow in the 4th that would be highway robbery. My ideal drafts go DeForest Buckner/Jalen Ramsey, Noah Spence/Leonard Floyd/Tyler Boyd, and Sterling Shepard in rounds 1-3.
  15. He wasn't asked to, so we don't know. Also, he isn't a traditional corner. At best he is a bigger and faster Tyrann Mathieu. At worst he is a bigger and faster Matt Elam. Thus the dilemma. One of the biggest boom or bust prospects in recent memory.
  16. For me, Alexander does not belong in a top 10 discussion. He should go in the 20s imo based on what he has put on tape so far. Whether he will be a great NFL player is another story; I think he does have potential to be really good.
  17. I love the hiring of Leslie Frazier, I really would be more confident taking Ramsey at 6 if I know he will be coached up well. Plus the thing is, I know I would be ecstatic to get him at say 10 or 12, and his ceiling is maybe the highest in the draft with Buckner, Tunsil, Bosa, and Ronnie Stanley. He obviously has more red flags, but he can ball. If the only Buckner Bosa Tunsil Stanley are all gone, I don't know if Treadwell is the next best player (based on potential). I mean if he is a bigger faster Tyrann Mathieu like he has shown to be in say the 2014 Miami game, how can you pass on that?
  18. You never know with Jerry Jones.
  19. And in comparison to Vernon Hargreaves: His +22.3 coverage grade in 2014 is the best we’ve had in two years and while deep speed and size may come into question during the draft process, his upside as a natural cover man is too much to pass up.
  20. Just some food for thought: Over the last two years, Ramsey has graded at +21.0 in coverage, +13.4 against the run, and +10.1 as a pass rusher.
  21. Okay went to look at Apple tape, and I have to say I don't see a first rounder except by potential. His Michigan State tape was disappointing to me, as Burbridge beat him all day. I think Tyler Boyd would be a better option for our 2nd. Ideally Buckner in the 1st, Boyd in 2nd, best available corner, Yannick, or Sterling Shepard in 3rd. Thoughts?
  22. Buckner is the real deal. He will effect the game, period, either by demanding double teams or dominating one on one. He helps fix our biggest weakness, which 2015 showed to be pass rush (at least with Sizz down). No red flags to speak up. He really looks like a franchise cornerstone to me. Need to do more work on Apple and Spence so I will reserve judgment, although I freely admit that Spence's drug history scares me. I'll take a look at his tape though for sure. If Yannick is there by some miracle, he's the no brainier pick in the third but that does seen likely. Don't know much about the late round guys but this draft seems very solid to me. Someone is gunning to be third in line behind DeCosta.
  23. He's a wide receiver to me too, would be interesting if he can run the full route tree etc etc. Plus he's never had to deal with catching too many balls so that could be new for him. If he's there in the 3rd, that would be abuse.
  24. If Buckner is available, I am sprinting to the podium. Unless the 49ers get desperate for Paxton Lynch by us threatening to trade with the Rams, thus allowing us to drop just one spot, get a 2017 pick, and still get the player we want in Buckner.
  25. My dream draft has now become Buckner in the first and Yannick in the second. Although as awareness grows, I think Buckner will jump way out of our range. He is as good or better as a prospect than Bosa and has far less red flags. He is my No. 1 prospect, with Tunsil at 2 and Bosa at 3.
