Mind... BlownOne brick weighs more than a pound. I am expressing the amount of bricks in this instance in decimal form which is plural even if it is less than one.
trick question two bricks weighs more than a poundWhat weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks?
I see great value in Joe Alexander from Wisconsin as a third or fourth round pick
I don't find him overrated at all. In fact I believe he is one of the best at what he does. He just played through a slew of injuries this yearTo be fair, he did not let his team know his plans.
Think about your job, if you weren't where you were supposed to be and missed a key meeting, you would be disciplined as well.
I know my company would (because I'm the HR guy) :-)
Regarding Weddle as a player, I find him vastly overrated.
Jeremy butler has been alrightWhen you say WRs, you mean one WR...Aiken. There has been literally nothing impressive from the other guys across the board. Catching one or two passes a week isn't impressive.
We aren't scoring nearly as many points without Flacco. People thought we had a great offensive performance yesterday, yet we scored a whopping 20 points.
And I know this... Y'all act like I don't know our history we were the colts they moved to Indy and during the mid 90s we got the browns franchise along with Ozzie and a couple other dudes and called it the Baltimore ravens. Yes they have been good but with stuff like the drive and red right 88 people are under the assumption that even when they don't suck Cleveland sports will always have some type of taint on themThis isn't an insult, or me talking down to you! I am 66 and I've seen the Cleveland Browns for decades before they became this team you've paid attention to for maybe 5 or 6 years it that!
I've seen Jim Brown, Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar and other great Browns' players including Ozzie Newsome! You're basing your opinion on a small sample or repeating what you've heard others say is my point!
Am I the only one on this forum that is a huge Deforest Buckner fan. That dude is just mean
Well to be fair to jah he was going to make the roster he had a strong preseason... But I'm torn with Courtney I think we put him in bad positions he should never drop back in coverage and if he would put on a few pounds I believe I would like him to be a 3 or 5 technique but if we let him go I wouldn't mind really like court but I'm torn on himWe saw a lot of guys finally show up to play yesterday. If that happens again against the Bengals then we should feel a lot better about this off season. Please just let Upshaw walk away though. Don't do the Jah Reid/Mount Cody experiment with him. He just needs to go.
I wouldn't believe he does but who knows people move up and down the draft board rapidly during the off season. I have yet to watch the tapes on Alexander white or fuller if I've watched anyone I've seen fuller in the Ohio state game this year if y'all could fill me in on those guys that would be greatI don't think Ramsey will be much of a fit here day-1. Pees hybrid scheme revolved a lot around off-man coverage, that's not a strong suit of Ramsey. The two things Pees scheme is also revolved around is reading offenses, and tackling. As far as tackling goes, that's where Ramsey benefits, but when it comes to reading offenses as a CB, I wonder how Ramsey will do. He almost exclusively functioned in press-man so I wonder how he'll do in off-man when he is supposed to read the QB.
My biggest gripe with Ramsey however is play-making. He does not get enough INTs as you would like to see. I don't know if that's because he does not put himself in a position to make those plays or if its because of the role he is in, but the truth is he does not make those turnovers. I think the other safeties later on, Vonn Bell and Darian Thompson are better playmakers who I would rather have in the 2nd or 3rd than Ramsey in the 1st
I do believe if he comes here, he should be used similarly to how Byron Jones is used in Dallas. Play him in the press, against TEs, and center-field, that's who he reminds me of.
I watched a few of his tapes from earlier in the year (nmst, ole miss, Kentucky, watched the vandy game live... I can see the talib in him but I also can see some tramon Williams... I'm under the impression depending which team he goes to he's like a Marcus peters not in the way he plays but the way he has played if I'm making any sensei feel hargreaves is a great fit on any defense, as long as he isnt asked to press cover then he will be good, but a db who can jam someone at the line and then is average in coverage like an aqib talib or patrick peterson is nice, but a guy who is scheme diverse and can excel in man, zone, and off coverage and plays the ball great, is special.
ramsey on the other hand, needs to go to a very strong and disciplined secondary to play to his full extent, if he comes to a place like baltimore he will find himself a liability very often, we need smarts, range, discipline and playmaking on the back end, not aggression.
well I'll tell u this. I would much rather have him than hargreaves. He loves to jump routes something dean pees doesn't like and has yet to figure out how to play off coverage something that pees does like I really don't knownim still kinda green on these guy's film but from what I've seen I made the statement on Ramsey just because of the blitzing aspect and how pees loves to work with blitz schemes and his wrap up abilityconsidering pees is a guy who forces his scheme down players throats even if it is a horrible misuse, im not sure he will want a safety who is known to disregard play calls and goes rogue whenever he wants. matter of fact, i think ramsey is the exact kind of safety pees doesnt want. he also seems to hate nontraditional db's, corners arent allowed to press, safeties arent allowed to attack, i just dont see him having a place in a pees defense, he would be a stud on many teams but i think he gets lost in the defense as it is right now. another knock on pees and a reason he should be fired asap, it feels like walking on eggshells when drafting for defense because pees has made it so difficult to find a player who can fit the "system" which is failing miserably.
I'm not sure he's in our range anymore but I think pees would fall in love with Ramsey... Sorry to bring his name up on a ravens forum but he kinda plays like troy a little... He's just like a wild animal when he plays blitzs extremely well, can tackle in the open field with the best of them and play the outside and slot extremely well... My knocks on him are where his eyes are at sometimes (that shouldn't be an issue at all, harbs pees and Hewitt have done a great job on coaching those guys how to play with their eyes this season) and he can get caught up on blocks from receivers at times. I feels like day 1 we should start him at safety if we can nab him, I'll say it again though I really think he's out of our range now.
with what todays doctors and medicine and what ap did a few years ago I'm not going to doubt what that dude has I his blood when he comes back hes like father time in where every time he's doubted I'm pretty sure he's undefeatedHmmm. Crockett turned into a good TE, we drafted Maxx and Boyle. And all three have flashed
So yeah, not that bad off especially since the second person I listed his a very high ceiling.
Steve staying if he wanted to would make sense. He helps with the mentoring of the young bucks and he would still probably have good hands and be a good route runner. His explosiveness is probably gone because of the injury, but he'd be useful.
sorry my tablet has a terrible autocorrect issue... Aj green* was the player I was reffering toThe Bengals are up there for me. I can never rank the teams that i hate. Steelers, Bengals, Patriots -- no particular order.
for the last time we are NOT getting laremy tunsilIt would be a good thing to have him back. Just can't count on a 37 yr old coming off Achilles to be the #1. It would be more interesting to find the next SS or #1 receiver in the draft with so many good receivers coming out lately. It would be nice to get Boyd,Thomas or Doctson early round2 or trade back into round1. A left tackle like tunsil and receiver completes the ravens offense. It would be nice if SS could contribute.
planned for pitta being out last year and looked how well that turned outI would plan as if he isn't coming back, even if he does you can't put all your hopes on a 37 year old WR that is coming off an Achilles tear.
You k ow how clowns do that little trick in real life and cartoons how they pull scarfs out of there mouths... Am kinda does the same thing every time we play... Hopefully he falls I'll just for Sundays game and can't play... I know were supposed to hate the steelers but there's something about me that makes me hate the Bengals more... There just trash to me off the field just one step above the cowboysLooks like we have finally got some things going our way. The God's (referees) were pretty fair with us today and the ball bounced our way. Should be a fun game against the Bengal. If we Held Brown down 2 times this season then we should be able to do the same to the Bengals #1's. And even if we do not win it still has been a pretty interesting season (never dull).
I think we now know Aiken can be a strong #3 WR and Mallet could possibly be our answer as the QB backup to cool Joe.
Go Ravens !!
Good: Dean pees.... I can't take the dean pees rollercoaster though... Mallet had a couple balls sail on him though but looked fairly well... Jeremy butler hopefully he can fight his way on the roster next year...middle linebacker play... Buck n cj had two terrific games today.. Zadarius smith and Marc trestman
Bad: upshaw in the neutral zone would have loved for jimmy to take one home but still got the w... Jimmy besides his two picks... Urschel... Rick Wagner
Ugly: ugly loss for the Steelers
noRight now....Ngata is still better
lol
oh yeah I remember... I'm talking about right now though...Remember how good Ngata was back when he was the same age as B.Williams...Beast, everyone feared him.
randy starks made it one year I believe...Glad they made it, both deserve it. And Brandon Williams was never going to get in. For dlineman the pro bowl is all about pass rushers.
It sucks but i really think his window has closed... He truly is only out on the field for his run stopping abilities..D.Smith gets looked over year after year...Man is top 10 in tackles....
The difference between him and ngata is ngata is a guy that you just don't want to run the ball at... Because not matter how you try to block him if you put him one on one and run it at him he's not gonna take it any day of the week... That's what ngata is now... BWill on the other hand when he gets Rollin can shut down the run game entirely by himself... Take Cindy or San Fran for example he shut them down by himselfNot a travesty, just what it is. There are other very good DT's (Suh, Williams is good but he's not a game changer.
Remember DT Arron Mcdonald in that Rams game? (sadly the one responsible for Forsett's fracture) he was all over the place. And Ngata is still the better DT, no offense to anyone. But its the truth. A lot of you guys forgot the type of players it takes to have a dominant defense. Ngata was a true game/momentum changer.
Brandon Wiliams is a guy that has made some plays in the midst of other guys that are making NO plays once so ever. So it does go to his advantage, but I don't really see him playing like such a game changer to beat out other DT's in the league
Just my opinion though
I was hoping Carl Davis would turn into something special, what happened to him?
20....... But they never won anything... That's the thing though... Cleveland sports has been known for losing that's what I'm trying to proveNo offense but how old are you?
The BALTIMORE Colts beat the Giants in the "Greatest Game yadda yadda" but our biggest rivalries, year in and out, were between us and the Packers and the Browns, That only changed when the AFC forced the merger!
Those of us who are still around look on those days as classic times of 'real football'.
Today's game isn't bad, don't get me wrong. I'm in favor of the changes that make a difference in player safety but the powers-that-be have embraced high scores and more offense and IMHO that takes away a great deal from the game!
I thought I'd reached Nirvana the year of the first Raven Superbowl - winning games w/o scoring TDs, based on the ferocious play of the defense and the prowess of our Special Teams when the Oh was on a low!
IMO I only like the all blakcs when were playing at night or at a 4:25 game... These last few years we used them on terrible teams... Falcons browns and panthers at the time... Completely ruined the idea... Now I remember on thanksgiving night against the steelers in all black lol yup... Were they tough yup... Did we win yup... Steelers nopeMy favorite has always been the "All Black" uniforms Which in fact we will be wearing against the Steelers. They just look bad Kardashian. Wish they could be our primary uni's.
And another thing... So we here in these forums love Daniel brown who I agree has some ability but on some plays looks completely lost and can't locate the ball for anything but we bash kamar on here... Lol ok

My state of the ravens...
Hate to hammer it home but we need a defensive coordinator that will make things simpler for this defense and a coordinator who will maximize there abilities... Cover 3 is not our strength... We play cover 3 when were scared that's why sometimes you will see us give up 500 yards a game and then some games we will give up 200 a game
I believe we will need some more line depth... Like what Jensen is showing us these last few weeks... Urschel I think is a good fit at guard not center though... We need a solid backup left tackle... If anything else happens because I have no idea what will happen to Monroe this off season but we need someone competent to back him up... It has hurt to watch Hurst these last few years. And also at the defensive line... We are pretty solid and from what I hear Canty wants to come back for next year but Guy and Davis have flashes but their not consistent though... Brent we will need to continue to keep working on... I believe will will need one more guy though both on the DLine and on the edge (like what that Brennan beyer kid showed us during the preseason).
Wide receiver I think Ozzie will hit on for next year I have full confidence he will get that straightened out. Look what he did for the oline from 13-14 and the tight end spot from 14-15.
If he comes back or not Daryl smith is not a full time player any more Zach orr is someone who I like and could possibly be his successer but I believe we will still need some solid depth there, because I have moved on from art brown.
Secondary is a dicey situation to me... Jimmy and lardarius are good when healthy but thats the thing though it has been hard for them to stay healthy... I like shareece and will davis but this whole Webby and safety thing is kinda iffy... He's been OK back there but he's taking away snaps from will hill our ace in the secondary... I believe Kendrick can work his way into fitting in the system kinda like stew did last year but if we were to get more safeties and corners... First of all what would we be doing with kyle arrington and tray walker... I don't want to waste this tray walker pick but my god if you have been here all year and can't get ahead of jumal rolls who has been here for three weeks and get pt when we are essentially in garbage time somethings up. And then what of matt Elam who we were believing in this year before he got hurt...
Our backs and tight ends are what I believe are our strengths heading into next year if we can keep those guys healthy and ready to go... Then that can take away a lot of our wide receiver needs and depth needs.
Trestman has some mixed opinions here on this forum but I don't have nothing wrong with him... The only thing he needs to do is man up and run the ball some more... There has been some questionable calls by him too but what he has done this year with what limited he has been given is a sign of good things to come next year...
Hopefully if injuries don't sting us next year we can be nasty.
