out of the signings we had this FA period this is the one that had me the most excited.
Living in California we get a lot of Charger games on tv and i have been a Weddle fan for a while, he always reminded a bit of Reed on the back end, he's not as great as Reed if you ask me but he is certainly very capable of filling that role for us and helping the young guys on the back end learn the game.
i was kind of looking forward to the beard running around for us on Sundays but i'm a firm believer of starting new when you move on. he can regrow it since it will be a Bmore beard, not one he brought with him from SD.
well not angry with this signing, he's been a solid player for a while and could really help out the younger TE's
We need to stay at #6. We have enough draft picks and that is assuming we pick well this draft. Only CJ has been worthy of our #1 the last few years. Sorry, Elam was a bust. Perriman did not play and he remains to be seen. Having lots of compensatory picks hasn't helped either because look at where we are now, picking #6 cause we sucked a good portion of season. Not the drinking the kool-aid anymore.
CJ hasn't even proven that he is worth a 1st Round pick yet either.
lol really? rookie pro bowl, second in DRoY (which he should of won), 1st on the team on tackles his rookie year and 2nd on the team this year if i remember right, he was tied for the team lead in INT's his rookie year.
i can totally see where you think he didn't deserve that first round pick *ends sarcasm*
Perriman and Aiken need to keep coming on strong. With Steve back, these two will benefit from his presence and instruction. Steve will carry the load without complaining, but having other strong targets will help him stay on the field deep into the season. That's what is really needed! Need Steve around late in the year!
i can see you saying Aiken needs to come on strong, but whatever you are drinking i want some for you to even put Perrimans name out there.
Brent Urban missed all of last year with a sprained knee....
i'm pretty sure last year was an achilles or ACL tear.
well silver lining out of this crap season so far is that we are probably looking at close to a top 10 pick in the draft so we should be able to draft a WR/CB/OLB that can really make a big difference for us next year.
well i think Z.Smith has a chance to be something special for us. too early to tell which side of the coin he'll end up but he did a good job exploding onto the scene for us against the squeelers. if he can just turn into a 10-13 sack guy i'd be happy with that. i think he's more in the mold of Upshaw with the way the jacks up blockers but i'm thinking he has more natural pass rush ability because of his natural athleticism.
I wanted gordon, I wanted us to jump up and get him, tbh looking back it would have paid off better. But i dont put any of this on forsett when our passing game is not clicking out side of the tightends and a 36 year old receiver dont expect our run game to work well
also YACs are refered to as Yards after Catch. he didnt catch to much passes out of the backfield
also used for Yard after Contact but whatever
this guy needs to be a big part of our offense from now on. a lot of people here were knocking him after they drafted Maxx, but i think i was one of the few people on this board that wasn't sleeping on Crockett. the dude is huge and a lot more athletic than he lets on. he's totally a lot faster than he looks but he doesn't rely on speed he'd much rather dish out punishment which is nice and what we need.
if only Darryl Smith got that dropped pick, things could of been different.
this guy was an absolute monster in college, late first/early second round talent that we picked up in the back third of the draft if i remember right. if he can regain his confidence from worrying about being injured he can be the next great DE for the Ravens.
man we were horrible but good thing it's only pre season
play of the game to me
well i can see Davis being a good run stuffer just like Ngata. the kid is huge he's a planet out there. if he can give us 2-4 sacks a year that would help replace the production was giving us in recent years.
man every Ravens rookie should take lessons from Urschel on how to save their money!!!
If the front office thought like you did we would have cut Jimmy Smith, Webb, Jernigan, Canty, Kapron Lewis Moore, Urban, Elvis, Brooks, Asa, Rashad. Plus we would have cut Haloti, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed a few yrs ago.
but for the most part the players you have listed are pretty good players that have played vital roles. Except for KLM, Urban and Asa the others are key players(Canty/Jimmy/Webb), HOF players (Ray/Reed/Ngata) or a rookie that played bit time for us when a big time player was out.
Elam has played a lot and really hasn't proven that he deserves to be out there and his loss isn't as big as the guys at nfl.com made it out to be. it's still sucks because i'm one of the guys that was just hoping this was the year he lived up to the 1st round hype.
this is all good new, but i wish they would show some of hits they are talking
well it's good to hear that the rookies are doing good, but i'm even more stoked that just maybe Arthur Brown is finally starting to hit his stride and might find a place in the defense.
Amen brother! All the people who are saying "Oh, don't worry, he'll get better with his hands" don't comprehend the consequences one dropped pass might have, or the "Lee Evans moment" as you called it.
Imagines this: AFC Championship game, Ravens are playing against [insert a team here]. It's been hard fought 4 quarters. 39 seconds left of the game. We're down 4 points, on the opposing 36 yard line. 4th and 7. All wide set, Flacco in a shotgun formation. Ball is snapped. Pressure is coming from the left. Flacco throws towards 27 yard line to Perrimann who, visibly tired and sloppy with his route, is making his cut, defender tightly behind him. Now, how confident did this image make you?
And this is what it comes down to. A player might not make a single drop for whole season. But when he drops that one crucial pass...well, we all know just too damn well what that can mean.
well good thing about this is that more than likely in a situation like that we will be going to SSS, who by resume should be able to handle the pressure and make the catch. but only time will tell if this will continue to be a problem with Perriman.
neither of these 2 moves surprise me. Pitta for his long term health and Brooks because he was injured in late december if i remember right. when the season starts it will be only about 9 months after injury for Brooks. i know there have been a lot of guys coming back quickly but i'm thinking the signing of Kendrick Lewis helps with this a bit.
Is it required that slot receivers be diminutive? Why not a Jeremy Butler or a Darren Waller in the slot? Any way that mismatches favor our offense is a positive.
did i even mention his size? no i didn't so i think you need not read any further into what i said. he could be 6'6 and play the slot
if he is able to stay healthy i think he has a shot to make the roster, if we put him on the PS he will be scooped up by another team because when he was playing he was a pretty solid guy for us and slot receivers are becoming a big deal in the league atm.
Idiots are spreading rumors on NFL.com and twitter that the Ravens are one of several teams interested in Reggie Wayne. We have too many quality young guys with high potential to take it seriously. Brown is one of those guys. I hope him the best.
well since when has nfl.com ever had any right about us? they will consider our wr corps weak even if they are lighting it up.

man i'm not even mad tbh, he's fast but that is about all we know about him in terms of actual NFL skill, at this point he is pretty much on the long list of disappointing picks at WR.
