Just seems like there is no put em away instinct.
I agree. That last drive they were not aggressive...at...all and that really bothered me. I get Joe is calm and cool which is need but you have to be more upbeat. Why are we getting delay of games causing Harbs to use T/O's? Come on man
John I guess you're trying to say the Ravens aren't good at converting on third down... and that gets magnified in the Red Zone. The issues with this team can be trailed back to not having "alpha dogs"; those guys who just won't lose... players who hold their peers accountable. Right now the players are just playing, winning or losing, and collecting paychecks... When you get those Ed Reeds and Ray Lewises things will get better. Remember the last time the Ravens blew a team out or simply beat another team comfortably, any team even the terrible ones... I don't either.
OMG those days of Reed and Lewis are GONE. Stop living in the past. Even then we had losing seasons with those two. We have alpha dogs. Suggs and I'm stamping Weedle from how he told it like it was in the press conference. Offense, Yanda, Joe and SSS. No one likes losing and lets not forget we have a fairly new o-line. Joe can't get the ball out if he does not have the protection and you can tell hes not comfortable.
We just lost 3 games in a row something is wrong with the whole team, and it needs to be figured out or this season is a bust!!! There is plenty of blame to go around from the coach, the GM, and the players, it did not just start, this has been going on since releasing almost all the players from the Superbowl winning team and then giving Flacco all the money and paying anybody else anything, well, you get what you pay for!!! And if you are cheap and refuse to pay for good players then this what you get!!! And there are just too many penalties and too many stupid mistakes, which add up to a lose and will continue to add up to a lose unless we can stop committing so many penalties and stupid mistakes!!! Some of the people we have just cannot tackle, but are paid to tackle, if you can't do your job than you need to go to another team and not tackle for them, for i'm telling you right now, that I am sick and tired of that!!! Why do we keep people on the team who just can't do the job, this is the problem I have with Harbough and Ozzie, they can't seem to figure out what needs to be done to make this team play like it used to play, the defense and the offense both are lacking in skilled position players and just too many injuries has taken it's toll with the Ravens, the coach can't figure it out and neither can the GM, but they are paid to figure that type stuff out, whose fault is that???
No disrespect but it's really annoying when fans continue to complain about the money that Flacco is getting. I've been a Raven's fan for a long time and yes we are a winning org but times like these does happen. Now if you take a look at the team we had when we won the SB, some retired and the majority isn't doing ANYTHING for other teams. Some aren't even playing in the NFL anymore. Name 5 players from that SB team making a huge difference on their new team. K.O, maybe McPhee. Why do you want to keep any of them? Our defense wasn't great when we won the SB ranking maybe a hair outside of the top 10. We have more weapons on offense than we've ever had in Ravens history! We're hurting on offense because of the constant miscues and penalties. The online is young on the left side. Two starting rookies and now the entire oline is out except for our starting center. Does that not make a difference in keeping Joe upright so he can get the ball out of his hands on time and in rhythm? Joe deserved every bit of money he received. Look at his freaking resume. The only thing he doesn't have is a pro bowl which technically he has one from being called up but who cares about that crap. When the post season comes around, Joe plays his best football. WE ALL KNOW THAT! It's nothing new. Your rather have a Peyton Manning regular season or a Joe Flacco post season? I'll take average joe during the regular season any day if he turns into post season joe come jan. Now theirs absolutely nothing wrong with our GM or Coach so please kill that idea. Do i need to remind you the players that we've drafted? Stanley LT playing lights out before the injury, A Lewis was playing well to, TJ, B Williams, CJM, T Young, MPierce and we brought in Weedle is the best ranked safety right now, Watson before he was hurt, ohh Crockett, bought in DOOM, Zack Orr and countless others. Our def was ranked top 3 for 4 straight weeks last i check and was number 1 in the league. You cant blame everything on the coach. Trestman needed to go because just like in Chicago, he was not balanced and we play balanced football. Yesterday play calling was pretty good and will improve but we need to get our oline back. Players have to take responsibility in their actions to. Changing a GM or coach is not going to cause them to stop holding guys. That's a technique issue on that players part. Their preaching it, they have to execute or be replaced. Harbs is one of the best coaches in the league. Be grateful. We're not Cleveland, LA, Chicago or any of those teams with bad management and coaching....stop pretending to be please.
I don't blame Harbaugh for making the 4th down call, I blame the players for not being able to execute the play successfully. Way too often the offense leaves points on the field cuz they can't score in the red zone.
Exactly. Terence West had 3 chances from the 1 and couldn't get in. If Juice makes any kind of block, he scores on the 4th down play. How are you a fullback and can't block 1 single guy against Goalline defense - pathetic by both backs in the backfield.
If Juice makes that block. West is in. Period. And we could say that about 3 other plays on that goal line too. But yeah, I'd have made that call too.
I may have gone for it but I would have never called a trips right hb pitch left. Best chance would have been jumbo set double TE power I up the gut!!! Never would have called a play putting my HB 5 yards deep to receive a pitch!!!
that play you don't call on fourth....if anything it should've been after the qb run....should've called a play action....the lack of play action calls is really PMO.....the gmen defense over committed on a couple of run plays that could've turned into huge gains and maybe TD's.....did they forget how we won the SB?
It's no reason why you're top corner doesn't shadow one of the best WR in the game. Period. We saw what that did when Pitt played Washington. No reason. Smith needs to follow OBJ wherever he goes. No exception.
your Space11jams.....your lol

Agree with Budman, Jimmy isn't living up to his paycheck enough to be trashtalking anyone.
Having said that i would love to see that matchup this weekend and see Jimmy get the best of it. Good luck to ya Jimmy.
true....trash talking shouldn't have anything to do with it though if it's just going to effect his game in a bad way
Jimmy needs to up his game before he even thinks of trash talking anyone, imo.
he said trash talking isn't his game....
Oh, baloney. You can bet this wasn't Harbaugh's decision. If it was, why did it take so long to realize that his offense was stinking up the place? Changing the offensive coordinator may or may not be effective, because the line is still a problem and the receivers who can't get open and when they do, drop passes, are still problems. Joe will always be Joe, an inconsistent quarterback, who one moment is brilliant and the next is bordering on awful. He is what he is, not a Tom Brady, who can take charge and win a game. He needs the supporting cast to be successful, and the Ravens haven't provided it. Their drafts have produced nothing to protect him, and wasting top picks on the likes of Elam and Perriman. You can't do that and be successful.
We'll the team was dismantled last year so you couldn't do it then. We won the first 3 games so he probably did want to do it at that time either. The last two games was lost because of the offense failing to move the ball effectively when we had both chances to close out the game. We literally gave the skins and raiders the game both weeks on offense. That was the kicker.
@Sarah Ellison How much did you get paid to bury us in nonsense. The main problem is Harbaugh and has been since he arrived, we'll see won't we. Will you be writing these fluff articles then.
How about...Are you a Ravens fan and been following all the games? How many playoffs games, regular season games Harbs bring us? including championship and Lombard trophy?
The main problem here is fan like you, knee jerk reaction for every single obstacle.....
@Sarah Ellison thank you for your LFW article and I am always looking forward into reading it every morning....
How many playoff games has Harbaugh been to since the Superbowl win? The answer is 1. The problem is the Head Coach. I am not calling for his job however. I just want some power taken from him and more given to the offensive and defensive coordinators because he is not an X and O coach. He has no feel for the game. He will make a good team manager but as an NFL football coach, I think we got the wrong Harbaugh. John is a politician. He says the right thing and smiles in the faces of us fans. He has deep ties to the Baltimore community.. and all that is good but we need a football coach.
This article is an insult to the intelligence of us the fans.
Are you kidding me right now? Last year we were hit with one of the biggest injury bugs in Ravens history. The year before we won the SB, was we not 1 FG kick away from moving on to the SB was it? Did we not lose 3 OC in two years of winning the SB? Now 4? Let me explain to you what a coach does. You can scream about knowing the X's and O's when it comes to play calling but if you can't motivate your guys, to do and play well as a HC, then you have no business being a coach. John has a vision and he shares his vision with the team. He allows coaches and players to be them selves and express themselves. He's a excellent motivator. That's his job. He keeps everything together, he's the glue. Have you not seen the many coaches that were fired because they lack that fire to rally a football team? Chip Kelly, Rex Ryan just to name a few guys. Why you think they stay in the media as terrible coaches but excellent X's and O's guys lol. Know the difference before you speculate. I'll take John ANY day over those guys because he's a leader. He has those guys believing they can pick up Thor's hammer with no problem. Give me that guy if he makes me feel that invincible as a player because that makes you play that much harder. Don't get me started, please lol.
The manner in which we achieved the 3-0 start and taking into consideration the quality opposition we faced and even more so now that we lost back to back home games against garbage teams means the Ravens need to prepare 100% for 2017. 3-2 means nothing at this point. We could easily be 0-5. At the beginning of the season I predicted 7-9 and after the 3-0 start I bulged on my prediction and bumped them up to 8-8. Now 6-10 is the most likely scenario. Even if we would have started 5-0, I still had doubts this team was gonna win more than 8 games. What scares me the most is that this team is relatively healthy in comparison to the past 2 seasons. Wait till the injury bug hits and we are forced to play our dreadful backups. We are already getting a taste of it with the OL patch work, wait till the secondary gets decimated. We will become the All Pro Factory of the NFL once again.
This doesn't make any sense. If any team has to start their backups if not all they'll be in the same predicament. I don't understand what your argument is. Last year, our entire offense with the exception of two players where gone. Almost all our CB's where down. I think its a given that the team wasn't going to be great. Especially with an unbalanced OC calling plays. Our oline is young on the left side and we're banged up. What do you expect? Give them credit for toughing out the 3 wins. Honestly, the piss poor play calling on offense is the reason we lost the last two games because offense had the ball. You can see it all over the offense face. Couldn't get in field goal range on the Oak are you kidding? With a poor run defense and we're about 15 yards away? PA, run and work the sidelines. Nope, lets call plays with passes in the middle of the field. Trestman play calling handcuffed our offense and now that he's gone, we'll see just how good we can be. West broke runs on that hurt oline. Your argument about the injury bug holds no weight because that's any team that looses their star players.
Theres ways to protect Joe besides just the blocking of the front line. Theres adding a tight end on the left to help block, theres moving the pocket, theres roll outs, with a good run game theres play action, quick hits, better out routes, all kinds of things Trestman ignored.
Agree but even at it's basic the OL failed. Ok, we didn't have our starters but everyone knows it's next man up, if that's our OL with that philosophy then we are screwed. If the OL doesn't play better then forget about the O getting better. It all starts with the protection.
This is typical in the NFL. It's highly uncommon to have starter potential sitting on your bench. They will be somewhere else starting for another team getting paid good money. That's the nature of the game.
This team is lifeless. There are no stars. Flacco is an overpaid joke. Offense getting booed off the field at home again. It's the same old story. Our team has been in a downward spiral since the Super Bowl. There is no light here - they need to blow this up and start over. We aren't building around anything. There are no real game breakers on this team.
Please leave with those comments.
If Trestman can't get it together, I don't see him sticking around much longer. We were better off grabbing Gase or Norv Turner who has the Viking offense clicking with Bradford.
On the 3.2 vs 3.6... thought I made it clear in my first post that it's a 3 game sample and West edged him 2/1...here's each game stat I got from old post on it:
Buffalo
Forsett 10 att 41yds
West 12 att 32yds
Browns
Forsett 14 att 37 yards
West 11 att 42 yards
Jags
Forsett 7 att 20 yards
West 10 att 45 yards
And saying there was no West last year actually makes my point...Justin was a starter last year, a role he didn't get this year. And didn't even get a chance to start a game as a West got. Once West got to start his percentages went up and that appears to have justified cutting Justin. All WAY too small a sample imo, Justin had bad game with Jags, but not so bad with Buff and Browns, hence the flaw of small sample percentages.
Well, I imagine other teams will see how he fares in their lineup and then decide how to use him. I think they'll at least assess how he fits into THEIR system most of all, rather than base it on how his year started with us here. But, we'll see, nothing's happened on that front yet. But...you know how I feel about it all at least ?He didn't get that role this year because other backs like West performed better than him in camp and in the preseason. He technically was the "starter" for three weeks, but had a nearly equal timeshare with West, mostly because West performed incredibly well in camp and earned that role.
I mean frankly, fans should have seen this coming as far back as like 5-6 months ago. We had Forsett and Buck Allen as the primaries last season with an injured Taliaferro (who is technically still here), and yet we go out and use a 4th rounder on Dixon AND add West and even Richardson into the mix. Theoretically, we really had like 5-6 guys potentially competing for that job.
And out of that mix, we found out Taliaferro was hurt, Richardson sucks, Allen is average, and West and Dixon are really good.
The real question is... if Dixon hadn't gotten hurt in the preseason, would Forsett have even been on the roster come week 1? We will never know, but given how quickly we moved on, I'd say its certainly possible.
Harbs said he was having an excellent camp.
http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/John-Harbaugh-Justin-Forsett-Playing-As-Well-As-His-Pro-Bowl-Year/0a258fdf-6a11-4895-86e4-1318a7930b71
As for preseason: Forsett only played game 3 as he was deemed a starter at the time it looks like?? I have no idea WHAT happened to get to where we are now regarding why he was cut NOW when clearly Harbs liked what he saw from Justin prior to the season. But Maybe Kubiak will grab him now that he's on the market.
Camp and live games are two different things. Forsett is an awesome guy but he was terribly slow and couldn't make the first guy miss. Once he was touched he was down and you can't have that in your RB's. Every yard is important. Once West started, first 100 yard rush for the season. Even Allen played pretty well when he ran the ball. Dixon will be the feature back and Justin knew that. He asked to be release so it wasn't the Ravens surprising him. It was a mutually agreement between both parties.
Wit.... I am a little confused. I like Daniel Brown and think he can contribute but I assumed that Forsett would make way for Dixon and Maxx would make way for Waller to come back this week. Why are we bringing DB into an already very crowded TE situation (which is about to get more crowded)? and Why wasn't Dixon activated in JF's spot? (who will we down grade to active JF and DW then?)?
I don't think Harbs is carrying 3 RB's in each game. I think we'll see Dixon and West starting on Sunday if Dixon is healthy enough
A bit of a surprise move, especially to all the Waller fans
well i think we have a week left for waller right?
I didn't think it will happen in the middle of the season. i thought he would be released at the end of the season but roster spots played a large roll in the decision I'm guessing. Hoping he does well wherever he goes. He's a class act.
Forsett was cut. Wishing him the best.
Harbaugh and Aiken lost this game. Period
that's a stretch....Aiken had two passes thrown to him all game if i'm not mistake. This game was lost by the inconsistent play calling of the OC. Why did we give up on the run game the 1st quarter of the game? If we kept plugging away in the run game earlier, who knows what type of game that would be. We had the ball back and West broke a big run. Instead of continuing to feed him the ball because the run offense was clicking, we pass 3-4 times and threw the game away. If they wanted to pass, at least hit a PA play. Oak def was bitting on the run, that would've freed someone up and flacco would've hit him. NO, we passed, passed, passed and made it so obivious. None of our OC accept Kubiack had deception written in the play calling. We're so predictable it's ridiculous.
This decision as dumb as it was showed a supreme lack of faith in the offense and can't blame him.
wasn't dumb....he put trust in the defense that they would not let them gain 15+ yards in one play which they allowed...that's the defense fault...it's 3rd and very long...how do you let them regain all them yards?
Nine Takeaways....
1. Missed Tackles - Aiken on the punt return, ZDarius on the long run.
2. Penalties - Big run plays, big pass plays all negated by holding penalties. And the Coup de Grace - Wallace's stupid penalty that gave the Raiders the ball on the 33 to start the game winning drive.
3. Ryan Jensen is bad.
4. Jeremy Zuttah is worse
5. West ran well but still has fumbling issues - it's what got him cut from Ten.
6. Steve Smith is a beast.
7. Don't blame Harbaugh for taking the penalty - blame the defense for giving up 24 yards on 3rd & 18.
8. No pass rush = loss.
9. Concussion Protocol claims it's 1st victim. Webb had to sit out and Lewis played out of position otherwise it may have turned out differently. I can see this being an issue - having a team's QB have to take a seat for the last drive because he's being evaluated. What do you think would happen if Tom Brady had to come out for a series and Jimmy G threw a game losing INT.The rule would be changed to accommodate Robert Kraft
when did west fumble the ball? i don't remember that
(in my best Stephen A. Smith voice): I wish the front office knew how disappointing it is for fans to come to this website today and not see an announcement that Marc Trestman has been fired. His performance as an OC is not only flagrantly terrible, it is downright immoral! Your quarterback is less than a year removed from an ACL injury and you line him up behind a line that is effective as a bunch of tackling dummies, you fail to include your fullback in the game plan, and you pass the ball 52 times? Are you out of your mind? If you're a lineman and you commit a holding penalty to save your recently injured $100-million QB from getting clobbered, I can forgive you; but if you're an Offensive Coordinator and you fail to plan for the game and you stand on the sideline and watch your offense fail for the entire first half and you fail to change anything schematically until- presumably- your head coach put his foot knee deep in your keister at half time, AND if this has been going on for more than a year now AND your offense has scored only 6 touchdowns through 4 games against the Bills, the Browns, the Jaguars, and the Raiders, YOU HAVE GOT TO GO!!
many agree,i'd say like everywhere he went there was great fantasy numbers every week, but no real scoring and no real winning, wer'e turning into the BEARS and FLACCO is turning into CUTLER.
I think that's a little far. Cutler is down right aweful. Flacco just isn't getting any protection and the run/pass game plan isn't balanced
5 Thoughts:
1. We still cannot close out a team - With the game on he line. I am not confident that our defense can make a play to win the game. This is a Baltimore Ravens defense and a team that has invested a ton in that side of the ball. Still not a Pees fan!
2. Where is the pass rush. We passed on a lot of top notch players in the draft in order to build a pass rush and it seemed non existent vs the Raiders. We obviously have people who can get after the QB is it the scheme?
3. I would love to see us go out and get another CB (via trade)? IDK -but I am tired of seeing mediocre WR's like Crabtree burn us repeatedly! SMH
4. What is up with Urschel. Thought he would be inserted and that it would give us some help on the left side of that line. Hope Stanley gets better quickly bc Joe was under constant duress.
5. I wish we would have tried to kick the field goal at the end of the game. I know it would have been a 68 yarder but he does hit them in practice and I think the likelihood of converting a 4down and 10 was not much better. Give Tucker a chance to set the record (even is he missed - the result would have been the same!
The defense won us three games so far this year without a pass rush. Lets give them some credit. Both our sack leaders are dealing with some stuff that they need to come back from. It's going to take some time for them to get it going. I'll give it after the bye and they should be hitting. This is effecting the DB's play forcing them to cover longer than what they should. Trading for a corner is not going to happen. No one trades good corners. We were unsuccessful in trading up to get Ramsey and Norman was wayyy to expensive. I thought Urschel should've played as well and the FG kick I agree with as well.

I liked the call to go for it. He's right if you cant pick up a first down when you're 4 and 1 then thats a freaking problem. A big problem. Us kicking that FG will not declare us winning the game. The game is called how the game flows. I'm quiet sure different calls would've been made and it probably wouldn't have been the same outcome. I almost can guarantee it. You also can force guys back. That stuff takes time. As much as we want those guys back, if the doctors say their not ready, they can't play. The NFL is different now. You're right, flacco can't throw 40+ but what do you expect when we keep getting 3rd and longs and penalties set us back? You have to throw! lmao
