  1. New England: 34 comp picks; 5 Super Bowls. That says a lot about our front office and coaches. That's an area the "OWNER" will have to address if we get another "BAD" draft from Ozzie.

Zuttah, Watson, Pitta, Elam and 2-3 others must go for cap space so we can get a few vets that can play. We must get atleast 2 starters in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Trade up by giving up rounds 5-7 as trade bait. We need players not more bench warmers.

With this statement, I can tell your just a fan of the team and not a fan of the team and NFL business as a whole. Who in their right mind will take low draft picks to give up high ones? That's first. Second, Watson and Pitta all good players that deserves PB nods if it wasn't for the popularity contest that comes with it. That's how good they both are. Even if we give up all those players you're talking about, the money we get back would probably go into 2 or maybe 3 big time players you're looking for which neglect the ability of having depth at needed positions. Lastly, why are you comparing our success to NE? Who is the Pats GM? Bill Belichick! Lol. Both him and Ozzie are top 10 when it comes to drafting Pro Bowl talent in the draft. Also, do you see a lot of change happening in the coaching staff in NE? No! How many coaches has come through Baltimore realizing the opportunity of having a one and done season to become a HC in the league? You forget all that. We lose big name players every year that Ozzie drafts and we develop. What you're talking about doing and comparing us to the Pats does not make logical sense lol, I'm sorry.

Cut Pitta and Watson and resign one of the two on a cheaper 1-year deal closer to camp.  Cut Doom, Wright and the rest of the flotsam and jetsam secondary pieces.

Let Wagner, Williams and Juice walk, and restructure Wallace to add a year and spread out the cap hit (2018 and 19 are more cap friendly).

Sign steady FA options at OL, ILB, FS/CB, backup QB and FB.

Draft BPA, getting playmakers (WR, CB, Edge Rusher) in rounds 1-2, and solidify the OL and pick up a 3rd down back/KR in rounds 3-4.

    thats a bit unrealistic

    right

  3. Our problem is our development with our WR's. We can never develop receivers which is why we always have to rely on bringing in a aging vet that has something "left in the tank". Bring in coaches that is know for their development of receivers. The route running for a lot of our guys is horrible. When you see guys like AB, Julio, OBJ and even Edelman, their route running is really good. I just think the coaching is mediocre in that department. It's been that way for a long time.

  4. We have receivers. We need to learn to develop them and Flacco needs to learn to do that as well and read coverages and defenses. It's a reason other QB's are so good when it comes to undrafted or later round receivers. The development process is key. Our guys run deep routes and routes across the field all the time, weak. Develop these guys route running, foot work, breaks, change of pace, dropped hips, eyes, hit fakes, and understanding of coverages

  5. Marty will actually be busy putting in HIS system (is that 7 or 8 different systems for Joe now), working on plays, working on the details and getting the best out of everyone. Joe needs a QB coach. Zorn was a good fit with Flacco and when he worked with Zorn he not only learned to slide, but he was more effective moving in the pocket. I am not advocating for Zorn, I am just saying how Flacco has benefited with a QB coach. With Kubiak he had Periani, Zorn didn't last because cameron felt like his toes were getting stepped on so they released him and the Cameron shortly afterwards.

Joe needs someone to focus JUST ON HIM. What he is doing good what he is doing bad, coming up with solutions for the bad and ways to improve on the good. Let Marty know what Joe is excelling at and have him develop plays to take advantage of those skills. Marty is OC now and needs to focus on becoming good at that, let a QB coach work on all the issues that Flacco needs to work on.

Word Up!!!!! I was throwing out Zorn and Kubiak's guy for the longest since they both worked well with Joe. It's a lot of things can work on which would be great if we brought in someone that would focus only on him.

  6. Translated: Our #2 and #3 picks from last year CAN'T PLAY. "The Ravens head into the off season viewing Correa as a limited rusher and Kaufusi needing to build up his lower body". Hope these roster fillers drafted #2 and #3 can run down the field on special teams and make a tackle every now and then. Once again OZ outsmarted the other teams by passing on Spence and Jack.

As someone else mentioned it is way to early to cast those two off. Especially since one of those guys didn't see a single snap because of injury. The two big names you speak off didn't do much this year and one of them is a HIGH injury concern. Ozzie was smart to pass on him and the Jags has the cap to draw a big name if necessary so it was a high risk high reward type deal with them. We don't have the time or money for that.

  7. complementary to who exactly? Breshad and Mike Wallace are both speedsters and #2 options at best next year. So is our complementary WR going to be #1? Clarification to this point is in order.

That's what he means by complementary within our system. We also had a for sure pass catcher underneath and a deep threat on the other side. The for sure pass catcher has always been the number 1 WR for us.

  8. I'm not a Flacco hater, but I wonder if a good definition for an "Elite QB" is simply one who can make a receiver great. I don't think it's dumb luck that the list of unquestionably elite QBs has some pretty famous matchups.

Or maybe it's just the Ravens having bad luck & bad decisions with the receivers they draft.

To put it another way: What would Breshad Perriman be if he played for the Packers? Not claiming to have an answer to that, BTW.

I'm not a huge fan of our WR coach. The development of our WR's has never been great while he was here in Baltimore. Plus, Breshad hasn't had a full offseason training with Joe because they both were injured. This offseason should give them enough time to work up a good chemistry for next season.

  9. First off, everyone stating that they're upset that Harbs is still the coach needs to chill out. Why on earth would Steve fire Harbs? Then we'll be looking for a OC, DC and HC. How many really good HC is in the market right now? All the good ones are locked up for good reason and Harbs is one of them. You guys need stop being blind to the fact that we can't win them all. Yes it's been bad the last two years (before then was Kubiack's year) but Harbs has not lost the team. You want to know what the real problem is? Allowing the OC position to be a revolving door. Why don't these guys get contracts like HC's. maybe the high turnover, IDK but Harbs is still one hell of a coach. He has his down times like clock management which is just not on him but still he's a really good coach and you guys would be really upset if he was gone and we got a medicore head coach that doesn't inspire a lint brush. We need a OC that will stay and if you take a look at all the good OC, they're not leaving there current positions for the same position somewhere else unless the team is just that bad which is uncommon. They can become HC somewhere else because teams are always firing coaches and starting all over which is why those same teams never make the playoffs. Where is the logic in that? You have to have continuity and it starts with the HC. I do think we need a change at DC and OC but who will we get? Honestly? That will transition to the same job? It's a lot that goes into it. I would've done the same thing. Sat both of them down, give them one more shot and go out and look for other coaches that will aid them like Fraizer is doing with the DB's. Stress to Marty that if he wants to keep his position he must have a balance pass/run attack and go from their. Firing John would basically throw next season out the window because that person is going to want to bring their own philosophy which we're trying to establish once again. That would be a disaster

  10. I think Steve will say something to Harbs about Marty based on what players have said about the scheme. They want to go back to what works for the team. Running the ball, PA and deep play drives. We do not run the same formula we used with Kubiack even though they keep saying its the same offense. It really isn't. Last year they ran probably 2 PA calls and this year maybe 15. You have a stable of solid RB's and we have 15-20 attempt combined between the two? That's ridiculous. As much as I like Harbs, he needs to consider what the players are feeling, especially Joe. Go back to what caused Joe to have his best season under a OC which was with Gary. Look at the game tape and look at those plays. It's CLEAR!

How can a hand full of carries and a few catches equal a "Breakout Game"? Come on Mr. Mink, write something worthy of the space ....

I was thinking that too, 80 yards total is break out/front page worthy? Lol. We face Elliot next week, a RB that has been breaking out week after week. I'm definitely watching that game with a close eye.

Elliot is top 5 pick, he's expected to breakout

Exactly, plus they have the best o-line in the league. Has been for a couple seasons now.

  12. For us to win this game we have to do what we did with the quick slants and RUN PLAY ACTION! This will keep the defense honest and allow our 1-2 punch RB's grind it out and open it up for our receivers. We ran more PA last game than we did the entire season. We have the TE's to do it. Especially with Pitta and Waller and Waller is freaking blazing fast. You get him on a PA route across the middle of the field against a LB and he's burning them. We have the weapons and speed in place. USE IT!

Webb played all 87 defensive snaps and made 2 tackles, something is wrong but Harbaugh gives him a pass.

if you know football....your safeties shouldn't be making a ton of tackles like that.....if the offense is continually getting to the 3 phase of the defense...something is wrong...this is maybe the only game we got blown up by big games...dont forget we were just the top ranked defense in the league.....them tackles belong to the LB's and DB's locking up their guy.....webb should not have 5+ tackles a game....that means players are getting free

    big plays....sorry

I guess the front office has found the secret of life that Dr. Frankenstein discovered. Or they must have because instead of going out and finding good players to trade for, they keep resurrecting bodies from the Raven graveyard and I guess they think they can take the broken pieces and put together a football player out of them. Yep, as I see the Packers made a trade with the Chiefs to pick up a player they needed, the Ravens call out the grave diggers to drag up an old body they think will magically be something they weren't before.

Who would you be interesting in trading for and what would you be willing to trade. I mean bringing in one good player isn't going to make this team that much more competitive at this point. And to get a really good player your talking top draft picks in rounds 1-3. I am not willing to give up those picks. Maybe, if I you thought we were one great player away from making a Super Bowl run, but I don't think anyone thinks thats the case. And Kniles Davis??? cmon man The packers could have waited another week and picked him up off waivers. He has a total of 1 carry this year for -2 yards. Its a ridiculous argument, which seem to be your calling card in this forum.

if we could trade for a cb or safety better than what we already have aside from jimmy and eric for a 2nd or 3rd i would do it in a heartbeat because the front office has blown those picks in recent years

I wholeheartedly agree. I have the feeling that KC will turn out to be one of those blown picks smh. You simply don't draft a supposed pass rusher in the second round because he has a "good motor". You make that selection in the 4th or later. but releasing brooks is really haunting us right now. I have no doubt he would have made that play on OBJ. the way he played in the last preseason game should have been enough but no we go with sorry K. Lewis

    i agree.....and no one releases good DB's
