If we got Tunsil at 6 I'd be very happy, if we got Stanley then yes I might sigh a bit. Myles Jack, Buckner or Ramsey would be very exciting.
Seems like a pretty poor draft to me and DeCosta/Hortiz are just being diplomatic, shame it's the one year we're actually picking high. I'm sure we'll still get a good haul though.
Upshaw is the ideal guy to keep, a lot of the other teams don't see the impact he makes overall on the team, he should be relatively cheap.
Will KO demand a lot more money on the market just because he's played 3-4 games at LT? If so seems a bit ridiculous the Ravens would intentionally increase his price in his last year, in a season with no playoff hope.
I would've thought he'd have 3 or 4 by now, he deserves them.
Thank God, let's hope he recovers well, even if he doesn't the amount he can teach all our young receivers is invaluable. But here's wishing we can send him off the same we did with Ray Lewis.
Sucks for Smith because he's not traditionally a ball hawk and that was a huge return, but we got the win anyway which is what matters. I hope ironically that this win doesn't cost us the best defender in the draft.
At least we've had some good news this year then. I know keeping KO as well will be difficult but at least I feel safe in that the Ravens know how to draft a good Guard in the late rounds.
We all know the players are great, which means these losses came down to coaching. Harbaugh has to decide whether he's doing something wrong or Pees is, because we shouldn't go from being a perennial playoff team to contending for the No.1 Pick.
No idea how much cap we have but grab Freeney and a deep threat if possible, we can't go several weeks waiting for Perriman, we still don't even know if he's good as well.
We all wanted Ngata and knew he was a fantastic player, we just couldn't afford him. Unfortunately it happens but I wish him all the best, hope he continues to play like a Raven in Detroit.
Upshaw doesn't need sacks to be an impactful player, having said that the hit he had on Roethlissberger was worth at least 5 sacks.
If I had to get a signature from any player on the team it would be either him or Sizzle, the guy's an absolute beast.
If Hill is even better and Jimmy and Webb are healthy are secondary are going to go from weakness to strength. And there's so much competition for that other safety spot that surely someone is going to step up, Elam might even surprise us.
Can't the Ravens play in London without giving up a home game?
Latimer or Kouandijo would be good I think.
Well, can't complain about our lack of depth with coverage inside backers. Hopefully set at the position for the next 10-15 years with him and Arthur Brown (and Daryl Smith for a few years). Hopefully we keep the BPA attitude going forward, hopefully we can land some steals.
Yes, we very well likely need an upgrade.
What we don't need, however, is to pay a large amount of money for the best possible upgrade. Centers just aren't that important. You don't need the best one.
I've never once recalled any SB winning team who specifically won the SB because they had the absolute best center in the league. In fact, I know several who won a SB with a pretty bad center on their team.
Well Matt Birk to Gino was the biggest change on O-line this year and O-line is most definitely a team effort which means that you could potentially blame one of our worst running seasons ever at least partially to him. You can also argue that not any position is vital to a Superbowl, first time the ravens won we had one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, last season the broncos had one of the worst defences in the league.
Sure... if you're running a franchise with monopoly money and have no concept of what it costs to bring somebody here.
Just more typical fan overreaction. Got a bad center? Throw a ton of money at the best one and hope it sticks.
That's why Ozzie is Ozzie and fans are fans.
I wasn't the one suggesting we bring Mack here, I was just pointing out that if he is here, he'd be a major upgrade. I'm aware of salary cap issues, but no-one knows it better than Oz so I safely assume each year that the moves the Ravens make are the best Oz can do. But the whole pointing of building a football team is to improve the play at every position, seeing as centre was our worst position last year, it's the position that would make a lot of sense to improve if FA or draft.
And the franchise will be better for it...
How'd you work that out, I hate the other AFC North teams as everyone else but Alex Mack is one of the best centres in the league and that's probably our weakest spot on offence. The Franchise would be MUCH better if he was here.
Hopefully now we can pick up a great tackle or safety in the draft, preferably both.
Hope we don't go too crazy for WRs, this draft class is one of the best for WR in years so it'd be a shame to waste that.
Not worth the money. He plays best as a 4-3 DE and we have much more pressing needs.
Well it looks like no-one is interested in him yet, he's gonna have to settle for a lot less money at some point.
Could Peppers be a Hybrid 3-4 and 4-3 Defensive End? I think he could and he might be a steal considering his age and that we lost Arthur Jones.

I honestly don't see a problem with us taking Myles Jack, so what if he only has 3 good years, after that his rookie contract would be up and he wouldn't be as good value anymore. Getting a top 5 talent for 3 years is better than getting someone average for 10. And there's always a chance he won't have major health issues.
