  1. So, anybody watching the awards tonight? I'm thinking The Social Network for best picture, Inception for original screenplay and Toy Story 3 for animated film.

kings speech and dido ur others

    firth, bale, benning/kidman, steinfeld

director fighter/ black swan cant decide

i think films with live action like sports or dance like fighter and black swan require better directing, imo

  2. Due Date was an exercise in tedium for me. While I like absurd humor and I enjoy most films with Robert Downey, Jr. and Zach Galifianakis, this combination didn't work as well as it should've. The entire film was just awkward all across the board. The pacing was off, the setpieces were difficult to watch, and the humor was uneven. There weren't as many laughs as I expected. I don't recommend it at all.

it was sub par, only part i really laughed at was when they were at the grand canyon "dad...you were like a father to me" hahaha

  3. Terry Crews is awesome. I remember being the dad on "Everybody Hates Chris" and than I saw him in the expendables and I couldn't believe how good he is. He did the Old Spice commercial too? Wow.

Anyway, Starz is free this weekend and right now I'm watching Zombieland which is a great funny movie, anyone else see that movie?

ya zombieland was funny, worth a watch for sure

  4. Even though it's not a movie, I still love the Planet Earth series. Maybe I just like watching animals with British narration.

if u like planet earth, u will like "life" its in the same vein and richard attenborough does the narration as well, blue plant was pretty much all the sea stuff from planet earth, rip off

watchin the great white eat the bird in slo mo in blu ray on my 62 tv is worth the price of the whole series haha

  5. Terry Crews was the only redeeming quality about Idiocracy (like he is with most movies) it's a weirdly disjointed and quirky social satire, but it's hard to get past the horrible production.

    Anyone seen Eastern Promises?

    it aint easy being cheesy!

haha i always laugh my butt off when i see that dude or hear about him,

funny story about eastern promises, i was talkin to a buddy about it when it came out, i was like "you seen it? i dont know about it, is it good" so the first words out of his mouth were that viggo fights some dude naked or something haha, ive yet to watch it

viggo is a wicked actor, a good older one with him in it is "a perfect murder" also starring paltrow and michael douglas, not sure if uve seen that one, also history of violence wasnt bad

  6. I almost want to see The Green Hornet just because he is the bad guy in it.

    ...almost

he is funny in a few scenes, i burst out laughing once, his character is pretty pathetic, takes himself way too serious, kind of ur really evil/pathetic villain, kinda funny tho

  7. Hurt Locker was above average, great acting but not worth the hype.

Heres how I rate last years Oscar nominations in order from best to worst:

A Serious Man - Subtle yet masterfully underplayed

Precious - Incredibly heavy film (excuse the pun)

Inglourious ****s - The Christoph Waltz show

    Hurt Locker - Well acted

    District 9 - Unique

    Avatar - CGI vanity piece

    The Blindside - Wut

    *Didnt see "An Education"

i walked out of that movie going, wow waltz will win the oscar, sure enuf, it was obvious tho, what an awesome role

  8. I couldn't help but bust out laughing when Norman Bates came out of nowhere, dressed like his mother and cackling. It wasn't supposed to be funny, but it's so cheesy today, tears were coming out of my eyes from laughing so hard. My professor shot me a look but then couldn't help cracking up himself. I had the whole class rolling and we went back to that scene and watched it twice more for laughs. :P

haha think of how scary that probably was back in the day, i feel the same way about "the birds", my mom told me she saw it as a kid and had nightmares :229031_rofl:

  9. Taking a film class this semester, so far we've watched...

City Lights by Charlie Chaplin - silent film, laughed a little and then fell asleep

Casablanca - unmoved by romanticism, would've flown away with the girl

On The Waterfront - "I could'a been a contender!", pretty good movie with pigeons

Psycho - best out of the four, a genuinely creepy plot with the whole mother/son insane relationship

    /expert film analysis

Next up is Bonnie and Clyde

once charlie chaplin entered a charlie chaplin look a like contest, and finished 3rd

  10. I just watched an older movie 'Just Cause' (available on Netflix IW). Stars Sean Connery and Laurence Fishburne. I thought it was going to be one of those racial tension flicks. But it really duped me in the end. Not a bad flick.

Ed Harris plays an amazing bad guy (Locked up psycho killer).

ya that movie is great, the acting is incredible

  11. Thumbs up: The next three days (Russel Crowe), Takers (Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Clifford Joseph Harris JR aka T.I. and Hayden Christensen)

    Thumbs down: The Green Hornet

Really, Takers is an awesome movie, it's worth seeing.

The next three days is a real thinker, not Inception thinking though, but it's a good movie.

The Green Hornet.... Well, it sucks.

i enjoyed the next 4 days

  12. Still interested in some movies coming up

    Priest

    Thor

    Capt. america

    Fast 5

Movies rumored I want to see

Dragon Lance Chronicles( this rumor has been on going for 7 years enough already)

Punisher Reboot (if they mix Tom Janes char with the total kick buttery of Warzone I will be happy)

    The Hobbit

the priest looks ill, im gettin tired of the all super hero movies tho, they r gettin a little monotonous.

  13. Blow was a period piece set in the '70s and '80s, so my theory holds up that Depp is great in fantasy films and period pieces, and is horrible in most of the contemporary roles he chooses. There's been a couple of possible exceptions to that rule, but I can't think of any from his filmography.

r u saying his acting is trash or the movies themselves are?
