  1. "I will never be able to tolerate watching any team, at any time, not giving their best effort to win." So well said, Salamander. I think this has been a problem with this team this year, too many times. There have been critical plays that I remember watching this year that before the play even ran, I would say "no false start" or "no defensive offside" or "no stupid penalties," i.e. personal fouls or facemasks. So many times, it has been like someone has been thinking about something else other than the count, or the snap, and has committed that one critical mistake that we couldn't afford to make. The lack of discipline and the general lack of readiness to start the game or the 2nd half has plagued us. It has become an ugly mindset or "toxic pesky mindset" that has been like a contagious virus. Just generally, not playing like a Raven...no excuse for that. Regardless of the record or how lost the season might be, there is never, never, ever room for this on our team.

  2. Let's not get too excited about our so-called progress that still wasn't good enough to overcome the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde Ravens. Remember: This was the Jaguars. After being home in Baltimore for what(?) 3 weeks now with a bye to rest, heal, plan and prepare; and this is the best we can muster against a very below average team. WOW! Even our re-evaluations need to be revisited. It seems like we may have missed some things.

  3. Cross-pollinating articles here - the Ravens in this messed up season, have the best run-stopper in Brandon Williams and the best guard in the NFL in Yanda. Arguably, we have the toughest and most durable player in Steve Smith, Sr. Well, we, also, probably have the most fragile player in the NFL in Perriman. I know it is a small sample size for judgment like this, but the expectation is as low now as it was high before, for many of us.

  4. Salary cap, draft pick success, play calling by coordinators, take advantage of opportunities, fewer injuries of the significant kind to impact players, more timely in-game adjustments, better clock management, consistently ready to play 60 minutes, quality players at vulnerable positions (i.e. wideouts and secondary), rebuild defense, smart decision-making by QB, catch what you can get your hands on (passes or interceptions) and, oh yeah, win the Super Bowl every year (no-brainer - LOL). Take your pick.

  5. I wouldn't waste such a magical wish on just one play or an injury reversed, even though I wish none of our Ravens were hurt. Like bioLarzen said - "One change wouldn't be enough." More production from key draft picks or different draft picks altogether would certainly be nice. I wish we had not traded Boldin, and giving him away for next to nothing made it even less tolerable. As much as I like Ozzie, that was not a highlight of his career as a GM, in my opinion.

  6. The woulda-coulda-shoulda season continues. Outscored in the first half 81-50 through 6 games. Led just once at the half. Without a shut down defense, we can't climb back. And the lethargic, ineffective offense for the first half doesn't get going until it is too late. In game adjustments aren't effective for the current game. After practicing them for a week, maybe we can use them during the next game's 2nd half. Maybe we should start warming up earlier so that we aren't still in that mode for most of the first half.
