Locked up with 8 catches and 87 yards? When a receiver averages first down yardage, he was not locked up. But Ramsey is a considerable talent. Too bad it looks like his mouth will get in the way. Bad-mouthing HOF Rodgers and HOF SSSr is quite an ignominious way to start one's career.
I hope to see a turnover differential that favors our Ravens...in game 1 and throughout the season. Too many times last year, it seems that we were not able to secure the football when we had the opportunity on the defensive side.
Between the article and the comments, there are many good points. Time to play, and quit talking. We're ready!
Small sample size for Stanley - true. Still, with the number of plays he has logged, there have been ample opportunities for flaws in his game to show.
Can he survive an NFL hit? Ravens' fans are holding their collective breath about this. You can't out-run everything and everyone all the time in the NFL.
Brian Kelly's (Notre Dame HC) attitude about Stanley throughout his senior year and leading up all the way to the draft was that an NFL team could draft Stanley and not worry about the LT position for the next 10-12 years.
He was known at Notre Dame as an extremely smart student athlete, leader, superior physical player and very durable.
"Don't believe me...just watch."
“I don’t have any doubt in my mind that I won’t be ready.” You have to watch those double-negatives, Breshad.
I see that report now about Jaylon Smith having nerve damage. That was not the initial post-surgery report. What a shame! I hope that he has a full recovery, but this is not good news.
Harbaugh forgives but doesn't forget. Boyle needs to come back and double down on hard work and commitment to the team.
I live in the Notre Dame area and watch their games all the time. In 2013, we drafted KLM in the 6th round and 200th pick overall, knowing that he would have to sit out a year. Teams Will Not do the same with Jaylon Smith, meaning he will not make it to the 5th or 6th rounds. His knee surgery was a success and there was no nerve damage. And this guy is incredible. If you have ever seen him play, you know what I mean. He has great character just like KLM, Ronnie Stanley, Zack Martin down in Dallas and a lot of players out of ND. But Smith is strong, fast, quick, an intelligent reader of plays, great range and good cover skills. If he makes it past the 2nd round, I will be surprised, even with taking his rookie year off.
Is it just me, or does anyone else want the Steelers to beat the Bungles next week ... tradition says the Bungles get bounced out the back door in the first week, and I'm not one to break with tradition :-)
Green button for Steelers,
Red Button for Bungles
I find it disgusting to root for either one. We need a pukey colored button for voting on this one. I guess for me, it comes down to the coaches. I like Lewis more than Tomlin, by far. But I certainly understand the fan approach too, And Cincy fans are more tolerable, by far, too. Consequently, as I am walking away, shaking my head, I root for the Bengals. Did I actually just say that?
Please, don't tell me any Raven fan would rather lose to the Steelers than draft a few spots lower in the 1st Round! Why even talk about this? Great win, Sunday, RAVENS! Great Win!
There is nothing wrong with some stiff QB competition in camp and preseason. It will be good for Flacco and only improve his chances at excellence. Together with our O-line (KO, Jensen/Urschel, Zuttah, Yanda and Wagner), a 2nd year under Trestman, SSS back from retirement plans, and Forsett running like a madman, things will improve tremendously. What optimism, huh? Hey! It's New Years and time to hope.
This wasn't Flacco's best season for many reasons and excuses. I remember that, repeatedly, Flacco took responsibility after games for making stupid decisions. Do I think that Mallett will take over the starting QB in place of Flacco? Of course not. But Flacco needs to correct his thought process and his flawed technique of throwing off his back foot. Do I think he will? Yes. But I am glad that Mr. Mallett is here.
Pay for steak dinners all you want, but most importantly, pay attention.
Name one RB who can't have the ball punched out of his grasp.
So, I am wondering where we stand on punishing QB's for absolutely ridiculous interceptions. It's the same football, coach...that "precious, precious commodity."
Our wins have been by one score as well. So, I guess one could say that we could just as easily have had 4 more losses. Sad but true: We are as close to being winless as we are to qualifying for the playoffs.
And there was another Allen out of USC that was a pretty good dual threat also. Marcus Allen was a different kind of runner than Buck, but Buck has the great hands and after-catch ability of Marcus.
This is Buck Allen as a rookie actually performing in a game that reminds us of Holmes and Rice. He has already put up the stats in a single game that it took them time to build to. Yes, he had the opportunity given Forsett's injury: But he made the Raven most out of the opportunity. He is a future game-changer.
Well, remember what the Browns did against us the first time.
This is one botched up Raven's season. Who would have thought we would be thin at TE with the 3 young bucks we have? Completely probable in this season.
This may not be pretty against Seattle. They are gearing up for the playoffs while we are still trying to find consistency for just one game.
Monroe is doubtful even when he plays.
I would rather win, period, rivals or not, than have the #1 pick. This win does so much for this team, hopefully. Never Say Die Ravens!

3-0 means that we are a better team this year, especially on defense. As SSSr said, we were losing these games last year. Borderline calls were going against us; turnovers just simply weren't happening for us; and the other team was getting just enough offense at the end to beat us. And we don't have a plethora of really dumb penalties at just the wrong time (like the end of the game), either. Good article, Mr. "Raven" Byrne.
p.s. there is always stuff to work on. Let's keep stacking. Go Ravens!
