  1. @manofsteel - I can't believe you have just 14 negatives. What a ridiculous statement you make about Jimmy Smith! It doesn't even deserve discussion.
  2. The condition of the OL may limit playing time for Flacco in spite of it being the 3rd preseason game.
  3. Will Hill Thrill! Congratulations! Growing up before our eyes!
  4. And then in the "Least Production with the Most Potential" category - Jah Reid.
  5. As far as I am concerned, this is a whole lot of biased over-reacting by Philadelphia and NFL fans who hate anything Ravens/Suggs. I love the drumbeat Suggs set with his comments. It is nothing but a call to his defense to get on board. Teams hate to see Suggs. They gameplan for him. But they know, also, that they would love him as a teammate.
  6. If a QB has an option to keep it without even establishing himself as a passer, he will be treated as a runner. A good defense will always attempt to stop a play like that by sending a defender straight after the QB, whether he keeps it or not. A great defender like Suggs is not going to slow down to see who actually ends up with the ball; neither should he be expected to slow down.
  7. A Philly DB said that if he was not wearing an Eagles' uniform, he would have done the same thing as Suggs. Kelce, the Eagles' center, called it a clean play. Generally, though, teams will respond to plays like that in a way that supports their own player. That is why Blandino and the NFL, as independent arbitrators, get involved and settle the dispute. The NFL said it was legal. Opinions now don't matter. Case closed. Those who hate the Ravens/Suggs will continue to hate. Bring on the haters. Go Ravens!
  8. Just one more of many Ozzie's success stories. Campanaro is going to be flat-out amazing - and will be a favorite target of Joe's for years to come. His quickness, his separation ability, his feel for the coverage - all mentioned above. But he is an excellent route runner and has sure hands, too.
  9. Kelly recognizes that we have an elite quarterback in Flacco. I am sure that he also knows that his team is not even close to having one. Nice to read his compliments about our team; especially the OL and DL, where the game is always decided.
  10. Some here have already said it, but it is worth repeating. Williams and Jernigan are quite the DL Tandem. They are going to give offensive lines NightMares for years to come. And don't forget, they have Mosley right behind them. Let's get this season started! Go Ravens, all the way! Bring it home for Steve Smith, Sr.
  11. It is one thing to have potential. It is quite another to see how B-Will has developed himself into a future Pro-Bowl type player and leader. It's called passion and work ethic or as he put it - "nose to the grindstone." We have some great examples of this among the young guys on this team. And in the middle of our defense, there they stand; Williams and Mosley.
  12. There is no one more deserving to go out on his own terms than Steve Smith, Sr. Undoubtedly, another team (the Patriots) would have picked him up if the Ravens had not signed him. However, he chose us. What an honor it would be for him to retire and enter the HOF as a Raven.
  13. The Ray Lewis of the offense since he has been a Raven; fearless, physical and cerebral. He is not afraid of being a leader, not afraid of injury and not afraid of failure. Teaching and coaching, like he is already doing, maybe in his future - perhaps as a Raven. Let's make this farewell end with a party and a parade.
  14. Two linemen from each school, Tennessee and Stanford, remain in the top 100; and a few wide receivers. Hang in there! Our history is rife with late round and undrafted successes. We have some real steals in Mosley and Jernigan; convinced of that! They were leaders on championship teams. Again, Ozzie deserves our confidence and support.
  15. Yes! The scoring threat that exposed Tomlin's version of "prevent defense" is still a Raven!
  16. Comparatively, Ravens scored big with Monroe. They saved at least $4 million by not tagging him and did a good job securing him in comparison with the other LT's that were signed. Sets us up well for the rest of FA and the draft.
  17. What a relief! Good contract, too. Now, if we can pick up Martin in the draft, although we might have to trade up in order to do it, our OL will be progressing nicely.
  18. Other positions, like wide receiver, produce more excitement, but we need to invest in the OL in both FA and the draft. Begin with Monroe in FA and pick up Martin in the draft. I have favored Lewan before, but Martin from Notre Dame is so versatile, tough, disciplined and technically sound. Forget Oher and plug him into RT. Or move KO to RT and put Martin and Monroe together on the left side. Plus, you have another team captain from Notre Dame like Kapron Lewis-Moore last year. Big plus' for Ravens targeting college team captains (i.e. Simon, Brown and Elam as well as Lewis-Moore).
