  1. Yeah, I feel bad for Steve Smith, Sr. going out like this. He deserves better. It is hard to be positive, though, when you see the same things occurring game after game; i.e. missed opportunities, stupid mistakes, lack of intensity and lack of readiness at the start of every game, which I believe is on the coaches.
  2. Still finding a way to lose. One common ingredient is that we fall behind early. We just don't seem to be ready to play in the first half.
  3. I am more concerned with the play-calling than I am with Allen starting at RB.
  4. It takes a team effort, including the coaches making the calls and substitutions, to turn this season around: Disciplined team effort.
  5. I think all of us see the obvious weakness to our blitz packages. Too much cushion for the wideouts will negate a blitz so quickly if the opposing QB is worth anything at all. I would prefer getting beat deep 2 or 3 times than watch them dink and donk their way down the field like we are a PS.
  6. And one more thing, guys. Don't forget. You have to wait for the snap.
  7. With the way things are going around here, we should pick up two for every one we lose.
  8. This is a grand attempt to appear to do something without really doing anything.
  9. There's a silver lining here somewhere.
  10. Well, that's good: But Changes? I thought these elements would have been naturally a part of our philosophy. They seem pretty obvious to me. Maybe they were accidentally deleted from the powerpoint presentation.
  11. And we had 10 days to prepare for this mess? If you and I are asking this question, you know that so is Mr. Steve Bisciotti.
  12. I don't want to hear about injuries. It's the NFL. I don't want to hear Pees "defense" (I know, it is laughable to use that word in connection with him) that this unit is still learning to play together. I don't want to hear one more post-game comment - "this loss is on the defense." I don't want to hear "we should have won." What I would like to hear from organizational leadership and br.com - "We just aren't as good as we thought we were." We should be 0-5, and we would be if it wasn't for Roethlisberger's injury. And that is no excuse. That's a fact.
  13. McCown sets a franchise passing record with this corp of receivers, passing the likes of Otto Graham, against our "defense," and I use that term loosely. How Embarrassing!!
  14. There is nothing else about our offense that makes opposing fans give up and go home like Justin Tucker in a game-winning situation. He is money. Pay the man.
  15. Optimistic expectations of this team at this time make me nervous.
  16. The secondary played better - yes. And Will#2 is going to be a big help at CB. But Vick was the QB, which isn't a sufficient test. His arm is still strong but he is very inaccurate due to terrible passing technique. Roethlisberger would have been a much different story and probably would have beaten us with everything else being equal.
  17. That kick that we nearly blocked would have been negated by an offside penalty if we had blocked it. Levine jumped the snap.
  18. Being injury prone is no excuse for not using Campanaro more. After all, we put him out there to return punts. He should be on the field with Smith, Sr. as often as possible. I know that gives us two under-sized receivers on the field but those two have the most "want to." Design plays specifically for him. We all know he is not fast but he has incredible burst and football IQ.
  19. So, do you think Suggs is missed?
  20. We won the 2nd half and lost the game. With the best set of circumstances in place...our first home game against a hated division rival in a must win situation...and we were unprepared to start the game well. This is a coaching problem. The mirror is going to be a busy place this week.
  21. We now know of one Ravens DC that will/should not be a HC in the NFL. And the Ravens vanilla offense in the pre-season because we didn't want to give anything away, looks just plain vanilla. It doesn't look like there was anything to let out of the bag.
  22. I see this guy as a lead blocker in the backfield, too, at the goal line. Yet again. just give him the ball at the goal line.
  23. Heck! Play him both ways and let him rush the passer, too.
  24. Love Crockett "Mosquito Killer" Kill More!
  25. Most Intimidating roster photos - Suggs, Brandon Williams and KO. Go Ravens!
