I see a lot of negative Backlash from this signing. Let me put it this way, You're adding a guy that has started every game of his 9 year career to a secondary that was starting Rashaan Melvin, a practice squad player, in the 2014 divisional game. Finally some actual durability in our secondary. He's not Shareece Wright people!!! If anything he gives you a SOLID #2 that can hold is own if injury occurs.

They seem to have broken the news and all of the other sources re-posted it
Edit - And I could've sworn he played for the Chargers but PFR and Wikipedia say it was only the Chiefs and the Cowboys... who am I thinking of??
Brandon Flowers?
Just because Claiborne wants $7.5 mil doesn't mean someone's going to pay that steep price for a talented, but injury prone corner. My guess is he realizes that sooner rather than later, and accepts the $5 mil from the Ravens. Unless of course, the jets pony up and make a desperate attempt to sign him.

Not a La Canfora fan at all, but to be fair, he did call the Tony Jefferson signing LONG before anyone else. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Without Jacoby Jones, This franchise has 1 super bowl ring instead of two..... just food for thought.

I think the team is putting way too much on Perriman's plate, if you want to rely on him as the #2 then fine, but at the moment he's sort of the #1 of the team. He's going to demand more targets and they're going to force him the targets nessecary to play as a #1. I really think Mike Wallace is a good #2 but I don't think the way he ended the season indicates that he should be the #1 guy going forward. I think the Ravens really believe that Perriman is going to be star in this league and are going to roll the dice big time on his potential.
That's not to say that they don't draft a Mike Williams or a Corey Davis in the first round to pair with him. Or if not the 1st, Zay Jones, Juju Smith-Schuster, and so on in other rounds. Signing a Jeffrey or a Pryor to a 1 year deal wouldn't make sense to me, honestly. Perriman has the measurables, draft a guy to pair with him and see if this team can actually DEVELOP a group of wide receivers for a change.
Yeah let's hate the guy because of his 40 time. Did y'all hate that future ring of honor linebacker from Arizona State bc of his 40 time? How about that Wide receiver from Florida State that did pretty well here? His 40 time was atrocious. Smdh, I'm really excited about Jefferson, like Orr, he's one of those UDFA with a burning passion for the game and the hunger to improve his craft. To think he just turned 25 too.... he can be a special player for this defense.

So we signed Jefferson and now we can draft a CB in the first and our secondary is lights out compared to last year. Just a preference, to each their own, I feel the path I prefer is smarter and safer.
It's a good feeling knowing that the carousel that was the safety positions for this team finally have some talent and stability. I think they saw how Elam, Brooks, Kendrick Lewis, worked out (or should I say didn't) and finally just wanted to go out and get there guy. He just turned 25, was the top rated defensive back on the Cardinals per PFF, and seems to have a passion for the game and will to improve his craft. I'm sold.
Tony Jefferson to the Ravens
I guess if there's a silver lining of Juice leaving for SF, it's that Joe now has one less checkdown option!
"In Ozzie We Trust" Went away after this team fell flat on its face 3 of the past 4 years. If anything Ozzie, Harbaugh, Decosta need to do everything they can to EARN that trust back.
Pretty unimpressive that the front office was most likely unable to retain any of our high profile free agents. Not even 1 of the 3? Unacceptable.

I can already see the Stupid grin on Harbaugh's face if they bring back Torrey Smith. Then we will have to hear about how he "Plays like a Raven, has chemistry with Joe, blah blah blah" Meanwhile, our WR group will be even worse than last year.
tell me this guy isn't Russell Wilson
Zay Jones can't catch a break but he can sure catch those balls!!
2 minutes ago, ravensnation5220 said:I'm pretty sure he won't make it past the 3rd round now. Not with his measurables, unless he runs a 4.7 40 lol but I don't see that happening
Yeah I don't see it either, Good thing the Ravens will most likely have 2 picks in the 3rd round!
Zay Jones would be a helluva guy to get in the mid rounds. GREAT hands, tough.... He's surely put that small school stigma to bed. The more he impresses, the harder it will be to steal him tho.
I'm excited for the "complementary" wide receiver that isn't on the roster yet. I say if you add a Brandon Marshall type guy to this team, watch it flourish. This offense had its best years with Anquan Boldin moving the chains, and Marshall is a 6'4 version of that.

he is concrete locked in on us taking a RB in the second round and he doesnt give a damn who it is as long as its a RB. hes had us take royce freeman, d'onta foreman, alvin kamara, christian mcaffrey, and im pretty sure hes had us take gallman in the 2nd at one point as well. hes also been locked in on jackson to us for a while now.
im really hoping this isnt true. i know that harbaugh said we want a scat back and obviously we want a corner, but man if were passing up starting offensive linemen and guys like sidney jones in the first and guys like tredavious white and dan feeney and takk mckinley in the 2nd for a rb ill be pissed.
Any running back not named Dalvin Cook taken early by the Ravens will have me pretty pissed as well. Dixon looks like he's going to be a very good NFL back, but the reason I say I wouldn't mind Cook is because I think he's really special, and the value would outweigh the need. However, it would all depend on who was still on the board if they took Cook to truly form my opinion.

Eric weddle is above average but with all his assisted tackles and not enough solo tackles makes me wonder if his best years are behind him. Ladarius Webb is a better tackler than Weddle but Weddle is better at picking the ball off. Maybe their roles need to be reversed. I truly dont like either of them manning the back end. I need some pop at safety.
Eric Weddle was graded as one of the Best Safeties in the game last year... he's not going anywhere. Weddle is a playmaking safety. He's not Bernard Pollard or James Ihedigbo. With that being said, and with Webb almost certain to be a cap casualty, maybe they get a thumper to complement Weddle.
16 hours ago, Deflated Football said:The man just topped 1,000 yards once again and seems to have good rapport with Flacco and you want to release him? Yikes
I don't think it's whether or not someone wants to release Wallace, it's a matter of if they bring him back With an $8 million cap hit. Wallace is definitely at risk of being a cap casualty, I don't think anyone is questioning that.
26 minutes ago, Jacquouille said:No I'm comparing them because in terms of production Spence has proven absolutely nothing to make me regret him. He had good not great production, but as a prospect we're talking about a guy who had off the field issue AND horrible interviews AND a disappointing combine. So no, passing on Spence is not an issue.
Asking for A+ characters is the reason this draft class in general is working out, and if even half of them doesn't it still a draft for the ages. Meanwhile we screwed up big time on guys like Kindle or Cody who were the Noah Spence of their draft.
I hear you, but Sergio Kindle fell down a flight of stairs, although he had a DWI charge in college. Kindle was a clear miss but no one would have predicted his career would come to an end the way it did. Cody didn't have a single off the field issue in college. The animal cruelty charge came well after he'd already been on the team.
Ken Weiman from 105.7 the Fan touched on this and I just wanted to elaborate on it as a forum. He's spot on, IMO https://www.google.com/amp/baltimore.cbslocal.com/2017/01/04/ken-weinman-rants-over-ravens-keeping-coordinators/amp/
13 minutes ago, Jacquouille said:Basically, you're another guy being upset for not taking Spence (who for crying out loud just had 5,5 sacks, the same as ZDS his rookie season).
Because otherwise this draft is the best we've had in potentially the last 8 years. I don't think people had the same reaction when Terrance Cody and Sergio Kindle were here. They certainly were talented.
The fact that you're comparing Noah Spence to Z'Darius Smith says it all. Keep in mind Spence was injured for part of the season, at one point was playing with ONE ARM, dislocated his shoulder, popped it back in, and went on to strike fear in the eyes of Cam Newton. Meanwhile Correa was a healthy scratch in how many game? Spence is going to be a helluva player at a position that this team is sorely lacking ability in. Spence is just an example, am I scratching my head that they passed on him twice? absolutely. That doesn't mean I'm just another guy that's crying over a spilled milk. I'm sure others see the real possibility of them passing on a guy like Tim Williams to add to that list.

Not gonna lie, it would be nice to have one of our 2nd round picks play their 2nd contract here. For crying out loud, it's almost like every 2nd round pick for us as of late has either flopped or played their way out of our price range.
