  1. "Even though it was a position of need, whether you all believe it or not, he was the highest-rated player on our board," general manager Ozzie Newsome said. "The thing we like about Matt is his speed. He's probably one of the better tacklers that we've seen play the position, and he enjoys practice and enjoys playing the game of football."

ouch..make no mistake..i watched elam ( last year i bothered watching college football) and all i saw was a low IQ flash over substance undersized safety that was not NFL material.

  2. I knew it all along. I could see he wasnt nfl material and purely a college flash over substance type player. I even couldnt stand his eatgreedy crap and was attacked in a thread for it. All i said was he was a much worse version of pollard in every sense and was too small. Pollard could hit with such ferocity that you would wonder..what would have happened to the brittle amendola if pollard laid one on him...yup he wouldnt be in the game..

Duwan landry had a fine season this year ..say what you want about landry and pollard..they were at there best borderline pro bowlers...they occasionally had stinkers but they were great players for us.

  3. He's a restricted FA, and I doubt the Browns would have any problem signing him long-term anyway.

Te browns seem to not only have tonnes of picks each year..it seems they have unlimtd cap..they hand out massive contracts and yet there is always space..

  4. Complete bust..rewatched the NE game missed tackle after mistackle and was benched in the 2nd half. Worst first round pick excluding Boller. Adding a real safety is team priority number 1. If he Wasnt a first rounder he would likely make the team next season.

Outside of the legendary 2012 gaff rahim moore is a very good FS.

    How about him at FS

    Will Hill atSS

Draft a corner in the 2nd round

(I want a WR or TE in the first)

  5. Is be careful giving forsett a biggish deal..hes 30..we sometimes need to look at the big picture..its sad cos justin has been awesome,,but our cap situation is not awesome and its due overpaying for guys who are not producing at the level there money would ask for.

  6. From what I understand Rice, Pitta, Webb, and Flacco are going to be some of the heavy hitters against the cap.

According to Over the Cap, the Ravens current cap number is : $136,704,517

It's really weird that Flacco is schedule to have a base salary less than half of Ngata's, but I digress.

    Edit (in English!):

Over the Cap seem to claim that the Ravens have $9,081,110 available in cap space.

Thats good bad for 9th least in the league.

So I guess they could sign another Steve Smith and then have enough left for another Darryl Smith... or something.

    Goodbye haloti

  7. Here is maybe a positive in all this we could have a secondary with this size starting

    Melvin ( 6 '2)

    Hill ( 6 ' 2)

    MIles ( 6  '2)

    Cason ( 6 '1)

    Webb ( 5 ''10)

If nothing else that could allow us more man to man.

  8. I hate when people say, "we could have traded back and got this guy." How do you know that? Do you? Doubtful.

Timmy Jernigan, by the way, didn't fail a drug test. He had a diluted sample, and if one believes his story, which I do because nothing says otherwise, it was from over hydration because he had some problems staying hydrated. Also, he's not necessarily a bad scheme fit because you have no idea what scheme the Ravens want to run. He'd be a fine one gapper, and he could play the 4-3. Do you know the Ravens defensive scheme already? Not like they can't change it

You don't like Taliaferro because you haven't watched film of him? Awful reason and probably one you shouldn't admit. He's the most ready pass blocker, a good one cut back with good vision, and a decent receiver out of the backfield. That's a Kubiak type pick.

Urban was being talked about in the second round. Doubtful the Ravens would want to wait. He's incredibly raw at the moment, but he has the potential to be an incredibly tremendous talent and he's the perfect 5T with a lot of scheme versatility.

Gilmore is only the #3 tight end for this year, if Daniels stays healthy. He's got incredibly soft hands, presents a huge target, and is new to the position, switching two years ago. He's got time to learn route running. He's a fairly underrated two way threat

Urban isn't a rare breed of unpolished players with his physical traits coming out of college. I think he was a wasted pick to be honest. There were players in multiple positions that were ready to contribute more and had more pro-readiness.

Urban will be one of those many players that you say in 5 years time...oh..i dont remember him.

He's a poor mans chris canty. Canty was basicaly a more athletic version of urban coming out of college.
