My thoughts exactly. He's got so many problems. And yet he's still in play because of Alabama.

Ill be the first to say it. If we draft Robinson I will call for Ozzie to be fired. It'd be a lousy pick

I think ozzie should have been fired a few years ago tbh. His drafting outside of the middle rounds ( where hes been good, not epic) has been poor. I'm tired of his late 90's early 00's drafts just keeping his reputation upfloat.

He pass protected well, his problem was inconsistent technique. He has all the traits you look for in a tackle

If in all those years in alabama under saban you can't develop a decent technique against lesser standard players you are not a first round pick.

Everybody is totally against Cam Robinson and he hasnt played a single snap yet....smh. The guy can instantly upgrade our running game. Im all in on Cam. You build your team from the inside out and Cam is arguably the best olineman in the draft. He gives you flexibility, dependability and production (as an offensive lineman)

If being the best is being a big, lumbering, unbalanced, false starting guy who is only good when in screen plays ( hes in a favorable system btw) then i'd rather we just played nembot.

That's the problem!! You hit it!! Sometimes he looks like Stanley with his feet sometimes he is lazy reaches and lunges at last second. When he runs his opponents he looks good. Ask Garrett. His flaws are very coachable. Not best pick but there is massive potential

:/ if a tackle can't pass protect well in college how on earth is he a 1st rounder?

Definitely would say his feet are slow but his punch is slow tho on defenders sometimes. His feet looked good when he was Road grading Myles Garrett out of the hole multiple times

garrett was injured in that game.

  6. now i wish we paid ricky wagner over brandon williams even more than i did originally.

Would have at least not have to think about the possibility of drafting a bust in the making like cam robinson. Damnit ozzie WHY do you disappoint so often?

I called this couple weeks ago said watch the ravens take Cam Robinson at 16 but don't be surprised if it's Forrest Lamp not Robinson as well

if its forrest lamp, ozzie might have evolved..

sadly, i think he's still living in the past.

Although he plays for Bama Cam can get so much better. Offensive lineman there know their schemes well. But technique could get light years better in the NFL by leaps and bounds. How many sec lineman were not ready to play as rookie?? Lots!! I would be very happy with Cam. Ravens is his best landing spot. He will learn from the best technicians in Yanda and Stanley.

:/ You can't teach fast feet His are slow..

  9. btw the only reason why he's high on robinson is because of alabama..if he were playing for anyone else and showed what he showed he'd not be interested. I don't get ozzie, i really don't..

He's still a guy that looks at size over ability. Forrest Lamp is the best OL in this draft. It would not shock me if he would be a better RT than Robinson either.

Taak is an overrated prospect much like sergio kindle. In a class filled with far more dynamic and productive edge rushers he goes with one of the more average ones. Does he have issues with guys that can bend? he  seems to love the straight line guys..

I'm not going to watch the draft. I'm going to be dissapointed..I can only hope theres a gm out there dumb enough to take cam robinson before us and someone as inept to take taak if we trade back and he's been taken before we get to pick.

Probably. I was like that when we picked Stanley then I agreed with it, but I can not agree if this is the pick even if no QBs go before us(highly unlikely) there will be a better player and position to take.

i loved stanley as a prospect..was not upset at all when we took him.

This however will be ozzies final nail in the coffin. He's been messing these drafts up for years and i think we'll be looking at a 2010 like draft messup this year IF he's indeed looking at cam robinson or taak as the first round options.

I can live with Robinson as the pick. He could be a great guard. He's not my first choice, but if Mike Williams and Barnett are off the board, then so be it. It'll groan a bit at first, but then be happy when he's opening big running lanes.

he's such an overrated prospect. He's a worse version of michael oher..

I hope this is not true. Seems we are constantly playing whack-a-mole and musical chairs and those games usually end badly.

wait for everyone though who hates this pick to suddenly go KOOL AID and say ozzie is a genius when it does happen.

  13. We haven't been a good drafting team in the higher rounds for a while. If we end up with Cam Robinson or Tak as our first round pick I give that a D grade. Ozzies philosophy is dated..he's obsessed with massive linesman and looks at technique second.

Cam Robinson at 16 is awful...flat out awful and I'll say that now. Taak is a meh ..out of all the edge rushers available i have him as around the 7th best .

Ozzie and I just seem to see things differently.

Why would you fear us considering him before you'd even watched his tape if this was an unbiased opinion?

because I had watched a couple of Michigan games (casually) and i caught a few dodgy plays by peppers and i wanted to see if it was just an anomaly. Sadly that wasnt the case and i saw much of the same.

Because I'm not seeing this lack of play recognition, I see him diagnosing plays before the qb even pulls back his arm often

I see differently..We'll agree to disagree..i watched his tapes before anyone elses out of fear that we'd consider him and it was not pretty..it was a lot of flash and a lot of trash

I'm just not really seeing those similarities. Elam was a head and shoulder tackler, peppers is a great form tackler. Elam actually got to play coverage snaps in college and looked bad in all of them and only made plays when he came near the line, peppers has been used as a LB and was rarely given coverage assignments. Elams plays came when he had time to make them, like backs bouncing a run outside and he had time to come down to meet the back, peppers is actually diagnosing plays and sniffing out the ball before it's delivered, he's just never given a chance to do it in intermediate or deep coverage.

i saw poor recognition..as for the form..hes better but i just think he's too small for linebacker and his coverage as linebacker was crap and he did play plenty of coverage snaps and was readily abused. I wouldnt touch him for anything other than returner. He'd be a lousy linebacker as he's easy to block and as a saftey no..sorry, his play recogniton is awul and couldnt defend a pass to save his life..what makes you think that will suddenly change if hes a full time saftey, which actually requires more in the way of PR than ILB where he was lousy when called upon to cover?

  17. 17 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:

Can you tell me why you grade him so lowly? I don't want us to take peppers btw just asking, because I think he's better than given credit for

He truthfuly reminds me of elam in college, a guy that hits hard and undersized who makes 0 plays. elams interceptions in florida were gimmes that were more about the QB than elam making a read. He plays slow unless its in the run game. His play recognition is awful and as a saftey he has shown nothing in the way of coverage skills and as a linebacker he gets mauled by blockers

he is a typical college flashy player and an NFL bust. He's so similar to elam its scary

that's ridiculous - his athleticism alone should have him be a surefire day 2 prospect at worst

however, it is odd that of all the players to need a private meeting with we needed one with peppers given who his coach was...

:/ so anyone who runs a 4.4 with a good broad jump is a 1st to 2nd round pick?

sorry i dont see it. he's a 4th round talent. He's matt elam like in coverage...misses assignments..poor ball skills and bad play recognition. He makes Bernard Pollard look like a hall of fame player

Peppers was a game time decision injury.

If we draft him i'll offically say that ozzie and co are deluded in their abilities. We're the only team to actually have had a private meeting with him which is bad enough. ( saw walterfootball.com and we're the only ones)

I have a 4th round grade on him and its only because he is a good returner.

Looks like Jabril tried to pull a fast one at the combine

the most obvious bust in the draft thats considered in the top 2 rounds IMHO

easily matt elam 2.0 but with legit return skills.

Im actually starting to think that the interest and reported intrigue with Cam Robinson is a smoke screen.

I find it odd that if we were serious about taking a RT in the 1st, why would Cam be the only one we've shown interest in? No Ramczyk, Bolles, or Lamp for that matter??

Yet at WR we met privately with all 3 top guys. At pass rusher we've privately met with or worked out Reddick, Tim Williams, Taco, Takk, etc..

But not OL. Thinking that could be Ozzie recognizing that Denver or NYG could covet Cam and recognizes they're maybe his best or only possibility to trade back. So, to keep that door open he's feigning serious interest.

Of course it could be that he knows they could move up but like Bolles or Ram better, so theyre doing the homework on Cam as a potential pick if they do that trade back.

Hate this time of the year. These last cpl days are maddening.

yeah..these next 3 days are going to go by so slow. I feel like sleeping through it..
