eagles should take whatever they get because they already have 1st rounders on that squad and just drafted 2 more guys. Unless they plan on losing Matthews for nothing then they should take what they can now.
Listen the ravens have a different philosphy on talent evaluation
1- Speed > Routes
2- Size > Hands
3- Tackling > Awareness

yeah, same
I'm not a huge fan of the first two picks. Ozzie is a flat out liar about BPA when you have R.Foster, Allen and OJ howard on the board. If i wanted a corner so badly i'd have traded the 2nd round pick along with our first for marshon lattimore or traded back for sidney jones.
Btw humphrey has had issues for years with the deep ball..even in high school ball. I dont think he'll ever be great at it. Then again we like getting beat deep it seems. We care more about hard hitters than playmakers.
Bowser looks too raw .
On 4/29/2017 at 11:35 PM, Ravens4Real said:Williams was never a starter in college and typically just played on passing downs. Not sure I see him stepping up in playing level and starting in the NFL against better competition. He will probably just be a 3rd down pass rusher for a couple years.
Side note: we really love drafting old guys for some reason. Read Bowser and Williams are already 24 years old. I seem to remember that we recently drafted a guy or two that were extremely old, also.
Williams is 23 and Bowser is 21.
In two years we'll see bowser in a more prominent role.
Just now, RavensFanMania said:Judon will not be on the bubble, but Carl Davis could very well have some difficulty making the team. Hopefully he has a good offseason.
i meant za'darius smith, not judon.
5 minutes ago, allblackraven said:Yes, I don't see how can he be ahead of Judon on the depth chart. May not have a spot on the 53.
I think him and Carl Davis are on the serious bubble.
9 minutes ago, ThatsMyJoeTerback said:That's if he gets an opportunity ahead of Suggs, Tim Williams, AND Zadarius.
I think the FO has soured a lot of zadarius smith. He's just so pathetic at pass rushing it's scary.
I am hoping that matt judon becomes our breakout player next year.
how am i playing both sides of the coin IF THEY HAVENT PLAYED A SNAP YET!?
I said Humphrey should be a solid player. I said i dont think he'll be a pro bowler or anything but i think he'll be a top 15 corner. Like between 10-15.
I see Wormley, T.Williams and Siragusa all being starters with the latter two having Pro Bowl potential. Wormley has the highest floor of nearly all the draft picks from the middle second round and above.
2 minutes ago, HomeoftheBRAVENS said:Its not a trade, but I wouldnt mind it if we picked up Michael Floyd or Josh Brown after he released by the browns.
wouldnt make any difference. average and insignificant
Lets be perfectly honest here. We are not going to get anyone worth talking about in a waiver wire. We need to make a trade ala boldin 2010.
I'd take the risk on sammy watkins. 2nd round pick..no question.
1 minute ago, rmw10 said:This is just a way for you to turn around and say that if he busts, you questioned him the whole time.
No. I'm being honest..he hasnt played a snap yet. I had time to watch more tape.
I'm learning from my arthur brown mistake.
Just now, rmw10 said:Lol this is pure gold. You were raving about him leading up to the draft and even when we picked him, but now that he's actually a Raven, you dislike the pick. What a shocker!
I had a chance to watch more tape. I watched some FULL houston games. By the way no draft in history produces more stars than busts. So if you're implying that there is no BUST in the first 4 picks then you havent learned.
He has big upside ( bowser) but at the NFL level does he have the instincts? can he read plays? Is he simply unmoulded clay?
I needed to see more consistent play recognition from him ( at the SAM spot).
Look, we have never had a draft thats not had more busts than successes. I'm just saying if there's going to be a bust it's likely this guy. The most safe picks where Wormley, T.Williams and Siragusa.
2 minutes ago, Dewy101 said:I don't know why he gets thought of as a safety? Just because he hits hard? From what I've seen from him he rarely is lost in coverage WRs never beat him outright. He did have a habit of biting on some double moves but every college CB has that problem because they want to make a play. The Clemson tape there wasn't a single time where he was beaten outright. He was hip to hip. Mike Williams never separated at the top of his routes. Mike Williams got him on jump balls which is so hard to defend for any CB even in the NFL. He did get a PI call but it could've gone either way plus the safety was late into the coverage.
He lacks fluidity in his hips and doesn't have that playmaking sixth sense if you will with his back turned. He's great when everything is infront of him which is what you like from SS
It would not shock me if we yet again have a ravens draft where the first 2 round picks dissapoint and the middle round guys are the ones who end up being the players for us.
I watched more bowser tape and i'm not sure about him...he lacks instincts and seems too raw for a 2nd round pick.
After watching more film of Lattimore, Sidney Jones and conely I really wish i could speak with harbs and ozzie and ask them to explain how humphrey was far and away a better corner than the last two
Also, not picking OJ howard or Rueben Foster is basically a mistake. The latter is AT LEAST bobby wagner and OJ howard is as polished of a TE i've seen in years in both the receiving and running game.
While humphrey is nowhere near the mistake elam was, he and bowser will not be pro bowl players. thats my guess. I think Humphrey will have good and bad moments and will be a solid corner .
I think the guys that ends up being our best player this year are Wormley, T.Williams and Siragusa.

the potenshal for position chg and tacklin is why you was quoted you call flaws and then sayed nevahmind them. I doan rememba you callin elams flaws before he playd nfl, you jumpd on the banwagon but thar was guys callin elam out befor he evar playd nfl and you wont one. opinon is one thang but good observshons come closa to facts. when someons talkin facts othas thang is opinon thats where the rubba meet the road
u do realiz you are quotin a game team held to one td that d was all ovah them theres pleny of plays in dat game film whar ross has left humpf in his diaper and the qb canna get him da ball or threw it wild as sami say humpf can rely tackl though. humpf set a recard tackln in this game wil stand for yrs who did humpf beat out for da tackln record?
now we gotta sceam for our numba 1 corna. it might work if the rest of r d can play like bama vs washton
Firstly, I said matt elam was an awful tackler from day 1. I was his number one hater. Anyone here can tesitify to this, even before he played a snap.
Secondly, every single scout, from NDT to PFF to walterfootball all say what I have said. Same with Vach Lombardi. HIs tackling form and his length is a whole different league to elam. Elam was pathetic, undersized with T-rex arms.
3 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I thought he could give bambam a run for his money as a SS lol
sure ![]()
in all seriousness while I was excited to get a jack of all trades potential in bowser i cant help but wonder if zach cunningham would have been the safer, plug in and play pick..
remember usually only 2-3 MAX tend to be sucesfull in draft classes the rest end up being disappointments. Looking at this class of the main picks, bowser def has the highest boom to bust scenario. Guys like Humphrey, Wormley, T.Williams, Siragusa have high floors IMO.
of the main 4 round picks this is the biggest boom to bust of them all. I can see Humphreys, Williams, Wormely and Siragusa being big time players for us this season.
Bowser is the only one where it wouldnt shock me if he doesn't see the field as much. Zach Cunningham is more pro ready and might have been a better pick IF we wanted a guy that would step right next to CJ mosely with no issues.
Bowser needs to be coached into a specific role.
6 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Watched more film, his Louisville game was beautiful despite barely recording a stat. I've never seen a qb break down and extend so many times in one game because a LINEBACKER took away multiple reads. His zone awareness was brilliant. He was crossing the field, showing blitz then dropping, standing deep and surveying before bringing a blitz. He obviously understands the concept of baiting and disguising. He feels defenders moving behind him and very fluidly rolls around with them, he's got extremely light and quick feet.
as an edge rusher, he's gotta learn to finish. He gets reckless and allows himself to get totally eliminated, he either breaks down his technique and lets the blocker latch on last second because he went for the sack before disengaging, or he just trips himself up. You can see him getting the upper hand early and showing some great footwork along with some decent but inconsistent handwork, he shows some competence as a rusher but always fails to finish it seems, he's gotta settle down when he gets to that finishing move at the end of his rush and finish disengaging.
I don't know if he's a ILB in a 34, I like how he moves in space, he would be amazing at covering between the hash and flats between the LOS and 20 yard mark, yes he is athletic enough to zone drop to disrupt the timing and then stick a receiver 20+ yards downfield. He is like an extra db who will be very disruptive as a pass rusher
i know this might sound crazy to some but if he lost 18 pounds and based on his coverage skills and fluidity he could be a lockdown corner lol
2 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:As explosive and flexible as he is, his footwork isn't the greatest. He takes wide steps and has a tendency to lose balance and get heavy feet
best thing about footwork is that it's correctable. Explosiveness isnt.
thing is find really odd is that this board is active. It's very active in fact and people are joining quite consistently, if this were a ghost town i'd understand but i haven't seen any significant drop in traffic.
I really don't understand the need to close this board. It's costs nothing and its being used.
Positives-
1- Best tackler of all corners in the draft
2-Best screen destroyer of all corners in draft
3- Great Length and size
4- Short memory- doesn't get rattled
5-When the play is infront of him he's as reliable as they come
6: Jams receiver as well as any DB in this draft. Disrupts routes often.
7: SS and FS potential
negative
1- Hip movement. It's more technique based than anything
2- The big one, when his back is turned his timing if off and doesn't have good awareness of where the ball is..this is when the ball is always thrown deep. If he was slightly better here he WOULD be the number one corner in the draft. For me, this is a BIG deal and the main reason why I had a second round grade on him. Along with tackling, deep man coverage is the most important attribute for a first round corner.
3- Sometimes doesn't seem to play to his speed because he doesn't use his hips right and some WR's will have a head start and better acceleration due to being running forward rather than turning. Needs to mirror and become more fluid in turning.
overall- Seems likea a hybrid CB/SS. If he can improve his hip technique and man coverage he will not only stick with his man he'll be C-Mac BUT this has to be something which is a real priority for our DB coaches.
this is NOT matt elam . This is a guy that has a high ceiling but with some flaws that could have scared teams off drafting him in the first.

anyways i was thar was in tampa for the national champship an watchd some guys play football that day watchd films of them befor and afta that game. bama had a heckuv D the only thang they culdnt defend was play counts that climbd to 100 and top that was almost 2 ta 1. theyd nevah seen a game like it that yr but for the champs game a yr earlier agains the same team thars some good playas at bama and many of em r gonna play nfl football but the day of the champs game thar was one playa that was a fish outta water out there. he nevah knew what his role was. time afta time he stood out like a sored thumb. now they didna throw his way much cuz they didna throw to the cornar much put this playa did let in a long catch on a poor throwed ball and he PI'd on that throw. fact he PI'd on a cuple othas that wasnt review. he got caught twice for TDs on pic plays. the firse time ud think he learned but he didna now u can argue the zebs shulda called a fowl but they didna. he got blowed off the ball sevral times and not only by linemans. wrs blew him up to. he come up hard on a screen to blow up the ballcatcha but he drew air wiff a tackle reminds u of a florida gatar. he made lots of them plays in da otha films but he was surrounded by high qualty guys like Anderson a nd foster and fitzpatrik allan evans one guy i nevah saw much of in that game was nuther of r pics. doan think he played. anyways this guy that playd like a fish outta water was tabbed no draff on my bd. do not draff in any rd. do not draff if offered more pics do not draff with ur enemy teams pic like the steelers. do not draff if ur life depends on it. nevah nevah nevah draff and what do i get hom and link to on our website when i get home Saturday? what do i see that is beyon belief? we the Baltimore ravens have draffed this no mindsat playa. sometims life is jus plain redickulas. anyways if u have any doubt bout this guy heres the complete game. i watchd it again jus to be sur. the otha films made him look a lil betta but mostly gainst teams with less sceam. in the nfl they got lots of sceam but many of bamas rivels didna. now this is gonna be viewd as one guys opinon but thars not a lot of playas i give the don't draff tab to and like cleats elam he earnd it. if u sayin he culd be a safety strong i wuld agree that is his only chance but we draffed a corna and thars just nutin more to say bout that
Disgraceful, if this board wasn't closing you should be banned, not for an opinion but simply this abuse of the english language.
