  1. Crockett, the guy that was named the #1 rookie TE last year on PFF based pretty much on how good he is at run blocking? Which is extremely good for a TE nevertheless a rookie. Kid is staying awhile.
  2. That cap hit is going to be a disgusting steal by year 3.
  3. Boggled my mind he chose instincts as the reason, of all the things Polamalu did well and can stack with against Reed, instincts was not one.
  4. Will certainly get a definitive answer that's for sure. Still can't believe King rated him higher than Reed...for instincts no less.
  5. He doesn't in a definitional sense no, word is he'll tone down his effort once his original surge is checked. However I've read reports saying he can drop anchor with the best of them so that has me encouraged. Maybe playing with some young guys like Williams and Jernigan will inspire him, who knows. Williams almost has a comically high motor.
  6. Well there was another term but I wanted to keep it PG.
  7. Flacco is seriously aroused from the these first two round picks. Williams is going to light some LBers up trying to cover him.
  8. Trestman is a pretty soft spoken guy. Not really the type to wade into anything unless called upon or he feels his place. He would have talked to Perriman 1 on 1 and that's enough for Trestman.
  9. Wait is my Peter Boulware jersey no longer en vogue?
  10. Plus that may as well be an extra player on the field with how much a legit line will help Flacco in both pass blocking and having a line that can run block. The days of high paid HBs are over unless you're AP or Lynch. Late rounders that understand a blocking scheme and he'll rush for 1000 annually with a good line.
  11. This. They brought Schaub in so he can fill in for Flacco from the QB perspective the exact system Kubiak ran last year. That and you'll have a backup QB who needs zero teaching the system. I don't see how this is a losing scenario, unless you think Ozzie brought him in to win 6 games if Joe goes down. But what's losing there is sanity.
  12. He apparently is quite adept at picking up a playbook and getting guys lined up properly, as well as getting the assignments laid out. Something the team hasn't had since Edwardo Reed back there.
  13. Think it was me....though in hindsight to keep myself accountable I said Pierce would be able to rush for 1,000 at cheaper cost and to just find a 3rd down back who could scoot out of the backfield lol...oops.
  14. A valid point, though I generally feel the cap hit is too high for a "capable" backup QB who could hold the fort for a few weeks. I feel anything past Flacco missing a few games is a toasted season anyways. I just don't think the cap hit is on par with the potential use.
  15. Useless endeavour. If Flacco goes down the season is toasted anyways. May as well rack up a top 10 pick in that case.
  16. I don't know if as a GM I could pass up that talent if we got a bargain on him. Just make damn sure we have a #3 TE that can actually catch a pass if necessary behind Gilmore. Give him a Wes Welker Gazoo helmet and let's roll haha.
  17. Any ideas where Cameron Jordan will fall in the yearly cap hit zone? Read today he does not want to return to Cleveland on any circumstance. He had a down year and has a slight concussion history. Wondered if that would drive his price down enough for our range.
  18. The principles don't translate that well. The WRs all get a running start except the wide out. Most CFL teams don't run pure man coverages because you can't really with 4 WRs with a running head start at you. The separation is ridiculous in the CFL. Sorry, but there's been 3 Canadians from this board already in this thread all state that Trestman's offense won't translate well to Baltimore. Either Harbaugh will force Trestman to run the ball more than he's comfortable or Trestman's soft offense will follow him here. Either way, I don't like this hire just based on the match. Trestman is an outstanding offensive mind and great with QBs. I just don't, and the other 2 Canadians who watched him in the CFL for half a decade agreed, see this offense translating well here in Baltimore.
  19. Did he? Thought I read somewhere at the start of the year the Bills were thinking about using him at safety because an UDFA was pushing him...can't remember where though.
  20. Damn. He might be the only one I can think of. Think even Corey Graham fell off this year, though I didn't watch him much.
  21. Lol, or if you're a subpar defensive player and want to make top 20 at your position money and retire for life after 2 seasons.
  22. This shouldn't even be debated. He should be hired immediately if possible. He is an outstanding coach and SF really dropped the ball in pissing him off and letting him leave as a result. Washington was insane not to offer him a deal right away during his interview.
  23. This, as a Canadian I watched Trestman torch the CFL for like 5 years straight and 4 Grey Cups or something stupid, but he does not have the offence we want in Baltimore. Kyle Shanahan is a better option.
  24. This is purely speculative, but for all the Dean Pees hate threads (I'm no fan, nor an ardent blamer of his) there never seemed to be an actual possibility for, who the people calling for his job, who to replace him with. Vic Fangio is apparently an option for the Redskins at DC according to a Washington area reporter. For those that actually want Pees gone but have no idea who would actually be a viable option as well as an upgrade, Fangio is both. Add on top that he was a former Ravens LB (I think) coach. I firmly believe we had Fangio pegged as the new DC after Mattison left but Fangio left for Stanford in 10 with Jim Harbaugh. https://twitter.com/NBCdianna/status/555819159964364801 Side Note: What the hell is going on in SF?
  25. The tackling issue transcends positions though. You can be awful in coverage but still know how to tackle properly. Elam can't tackle.
