I have no idea whether they go offense or defense. Just depends on who's there.

If someone like Williams, Fournette, OJ Howard, or maybe even Corey Davis is there... i could see us going offense almost regardless of what defenders fall (unless of course somehow a guy like Garrett or one of the safeties does).

I could also see them going with Barnett, Reddick, Foster if available.

I could also see trading back and grabbing a RT.,... or pass rusher.... or CB.

More so than any other draft i can remember; i literally am not leaning toward them doing any one thing. I could see them trading up for, staying put, or trading back and taking literally anyone at any position

I was talking about the Titans and what they would do with their first two picks, cant tell if you noticed lol.

But for us, i will literally not be surprised on any pick, although with just adding Jefferson and having Weddle, i wouldnt be thrilled with a safety.  I would love if we could find a replacement for Suggs this draft, because if we wait till he retires we will be screwed, like the Torrey situation.

By elite I mean Leshaun McCoy caliber or very similar.  Dixon breaks a lot of tackles for a runner known to be shifty and elusive. Bigger running back than most think at 5'10 nearly 220lbs.  He has potential to be a 1800-2000 all purpose yards player.  He is a very good receiver with some acrobatic playmaking skills. Lots potential.

He does break tackles and seems to always get an extra 5 yards when it seems hes going down.  But i cant see anything that makes me think he can be what Rice was for us, for some reason i see a Duke Johnson  in Dixon, im just not sold on him.....yet.

I think that he has potential to be good he flashed some, but I do fear of his lack of breakaway speed to be kind of concerning. He seemed to break off some good runs and get caught from behind. I know on tape in college that was one of his cons, and I think it showed last season. Let's hope he gets some needed added burst and hope that he is healthy coming in at week 5.

I would rather have a runner that is better sideline to sideline, like  McCoy than a straight ahead runner.  Barry Sanders wasnt that fast, i believe he ran a  4.5ish, ill take his skill set over a Chris Johnson anyday lol

The titans have two picks though in the first round and unless they are in love with mike Williams at number 5 will likely go defence with that pick so I could quite easily see them going receiver at 18

I think they go defense with the first and could see them going TE/WR with the second.

I know he has a similar build to Tali and Dixon, but he is far more powerful. The guy does not get denied. Yes, we do need lightning to go with thunder, but Dixon is suspended early, west is a one cut and go runner and woodhead will be the crisp route runner that gets nice 1st down pickups on third and medium range.

Perine is far more powerful and smash mouth than any back on our roster.

Yup, im glad you reminded me of him since i dont really watch CFB.  I think its time we cut ties with Tali, but maybe because of the suspension we will wait till Dixon comes back to actually cut him.  I wouldnt mind just throwing Woodhead into the slot, i advocating doing that with Rice when Pierce was looking good

I just feel like his arms were huge. Like linebacker arms. Maybe style of play, but like I said i can't really find much of a comp to Davis. Let alone I don't like doing comparisons much cause every player is different in their own regard

Yea i agree about the comparisons to an extent.  But when watching Davis, just reminds me of TO, not trying to predict he would have a comparable career

TO was also much bigger I think but it's a solid comp otherwise...i can kinda see it. I just think Davis is his own breed. He's kind of in the new mold of receivers. I honestly was just looking deeper into him today and I like how he fights for the ball in the air.

    Davis- 6'3 215

    Owens- 6'3 224

Not really interested in Fournette. I think Dixon should be an elite running back. And I like Davis better than Mike. Far better that is

    Define elite? Top 5?

In my view, although I love Mike Williams I wouldn't pick him if Fournette is available. In my view, Fournette alters our offense much more with his presence than Williams would and I mean in a dramatic way.

Yea, i do agree that Fournette would bring something we drastically need in this offense: a guy who will touch the ball 20+ times and just make plays.  I fear with the lack of consistent OL play, Fournette wont be the difference make we hope.   Williams, however, can be Joe's guy for the next 5 years at least and contest jump balls, a great redzone threat.  But, to each their own

I really think the Jags select Jonathan Allen and not Fournette. Fournette has a chance to go to the Jets, but if they pass on him he could slide. I'm just hoping that his butt is slippery on draft day and he slides right down to us!

I would be up for Fournette for sure, if Williams is off the board.

I see Fournette going to the Panthers. The Saints likely go with Foster, Barnett, or Reddick. Whichever is left on the board when they pick.

Yea, the saints do need a lot of help on defense.  Foster if there makes sense, but i wouldnt be surprised if Titans take Foster with their top pick

I've actually really gotten on board with OJ Howard and I'd have a hard time deciding if I had to, I think he's gonna be really special and also bring a huge boost to the run game with his blocking.

Ive watched him, but for some reason i cant buy into him.  I cant put my finger on it, maybe just because he's a TE and im skeptical about the transition.  Not trying to hi-jack, but if there is another thread where you broke him down, point me in that direction or when you do a new write up just tag me.

What about when you cherry pick flaccos bad games/stretches and disregard the causing factors and disregard his great performances?

And then use that cherry picking to justify dismantling the entire team and destroying all potential to contend in the near future...

that's cherry picking if I ever seent it

Everything he says is a contradiction

I prefer williams by a good bit because I think he's got the unteachables, he is the only receiver in this class that has looked absolutely unstoppable at times, I don't mean productive, I mean no matter how many resources he defense dedicates, no matter how tightly covered or poorly thrown, he catches the ball. Davis just doesn't have that factor going for him, he had a lot of manufactured production, and his tape showed excellent routes but he also was given a lot of cushion and never had to fight for separation, and when he did have to fight for it he was pretty inconsistent. I like Davis but i haven't anointed him like many others. I'd be ecstatic if we got him though

Im with you for sure, I want Williams over any offensive players.  After watching the BCS game, thats exactly the kind of player Joe needs, sadly i dont think he lasts to us

Jeremiah had mcaffrey going to the panthers - I think that's too too rich for me but I could see maybe dalvin cook going at 8 and maybe mccaffrey going to the eagles in stead...

Cook could go to the panthers, but i think they go a different direct, maybe defense.  Dont they need OL help?  But there isnt a OL worth the 8th pick imo.

I think McCaffery ends up on the Saints, he could be like what Bush was for them and even throw him in the slot with the loss of Cook

I have a hard time believing Harris is a guy we'll take at 16..

im starting to think that the wr visits with williams and Ross are smokescreens, i think there's a chance that we fully expect williams, Barnett, the 2 safeties, and foster to be gone, and that our top target at that point is Corey Davis, and that we've seen enough from non-private visits to be comfortable, and we are throwing smoke screens that we are interested in Ross hoping that we can get trade back offers for a team who wants him.

When i watch Davis, i think of TO, not sure how Davis' hands would compare though.

Whats your opinion on the Davis vs Williams debate

    1 hour ago, JoeyFlex5 said:

I could definitely see the titans making that move. They have absolutely no speed whatsoever with an elite OL and run game and an elite runner at qb with a cannon arm. The titans couldn't ask for a better prospect to completely change their offense

I really think Titans go defense, but you kind of made me change my mind.  Be interesting for the Titans to have drafted the two fastest 40time players

Ah, i never really posted in that thread.

So do you mods still have responsibilities after the board shuts down?

Correct.  The guy was pretty smart about certain things, like fast muscle twitch.  And shirtless pics
