  1. Like nurp said, just video in a holoform type thing.

When the alien burst through the engineer it was hinting at the prequel to "Alien". Although all it really did was murk things up even worse than it aready was. Nothing to do with Predator, I don't think Ridley Scott even liked the idea of the two worlds interwebed with each other, which is a shame.

I got ya.  And when i mentioned alien vs predator, i wasnt actually talking about predator, i just didnt know how else to mention the Alien with out it sounding too generic.  But....now that i think of it, i think there is a slight resemblance of the enginneers helmet to the look of a predator, or maybe im reaching...

I need a good list of downloads for that genre...any suggestions?

  2. Got a question for you guys who were big fans of Prometheus.

when they were in the tunnels and they would see the visions of the "engineers", what exactly was that.

Also, at the end when the alien burst through the "engineer", im assuming thats implying on the whole alien vs predator thing?

  3. Django Unchained- I dont remember if i wrote my review on it yet and i didnt see it within the last 3 pages so here i go.  Absolutely loved it, instantly makes my all time top 10, easily.  Every actor played their part insanely perfect, Leo doesnt get enough respect as actor in my opinion.  Sam Jackson was absolutely hilarious.  I just cant get over how great that movie was, ive watched it three times so far.

Promised Land- decent movie, nothing special

Gangster Squad- Loved it.  I love gangster movies and I liked it more the public enemies

Going old school on the next two

Seven years in Tibet- I liked it, shocking that ive never seen it before

The devils own- surprised me...I was hoping pit got away.  Its hard for me to understand movies sometimes with those crazy accents

  4. Although i really do like will smith, i think him playing Django would just be....off.  I dont see him pulling it off, i dont think i am legend is comparable.  Also, wild wild west was more of a comedy type, not a serious movie with good dialogue.  Ive always been a fan of Fox, i loved him in jarhead ( but i am a Marine).  Denzel would of done it better than smith i believe, if he was in that kind of shape.

  5. I don't know if you are given me a hard time for not spacing the words or if you really haven't heard of it.

Spring Breakers is the 2013 movie from Harmony Korine. Haven't seen it, but hear Franco is awesome in it. But he definitely took his character from Oldman in True Romance

  6. Holy crap. Talk about eerie! Guess what I was watching last night? True Romance.

I've seen it before and didn't like it the first time around but wanted to give it a revisit. I didn't finish it last night but liked it more than last time. The Hopper/Walken scene is still a classic. Oldman is fantastic and has to be the inspiration for James Franco in Springbreakers. But I'm just not a fan of either Arquette or Slater (Even though this is probably Slater's finest work).

The amount quality named actors (not-so-much quality actors) was insane. Val Kilmer, Slater, Hopper, Walken, S Jackson, Rappaport, Sizemore, Brad Pitt, etc. Quentin's writing can always attract actors.

haha, we have good taste. Ive never heard of it until the other day and wasn't disappointed overall. I was hoping that pitt and Jackson would of had more of a role. yea I loved the hopper scene, I need to find more movies like this.

    Also....ive never heard of springbreakers.

  8. I liked the new Red Dawn too, but also found I like the original better. Gummo is a strange movie, but I was able to laugh at it quite a bit.

im all for strange and messed up movies...a long time ago i brought up A Serbian Film...doesnt get much worse than that

  10. Just watched Argo, and I feel kinda the way I did when The King's Speech won Best Picture. They're good movies, but not Best Picture worthy. I maintain that The Avengers was this year's true Best Picture.

I cant award anything best picture that doesnt require any type of thought process, where a 6 year old can enjoy it as much as a 40year old, just imo

  11. I had to turn the lights off in the room and change my TV's brightness. Do you have a plasma? They're notoriously bad at differentiating between blacks, and that's what mine is at home.

    55" LED.

I thought about changing the brightness but it kept going from dark to night vision so i just left it.

  12. Zero Dark Thirty was powerful, the final sequence in particular.

Totally knew that one guy in it was Stannis Baratheon.

maybe it was just my viewing conditions, with a glare or something, but was it really dark for you, i didnt know if they were just making it that way or if i just couldnt see anything because of my setup
