  1. You're entirely right about Ben struggling with interior pressure especially that of the center but that's most QB in the NFL. A lot of people here know my philosophy of having dominant interior linemen. You have DeCastro and Foster right? The interior isn't bad but that's not the best but I do like Mack a ton. He will definitely help you and he'll help make those guards look better.

I think it would've been wiser to add edge support over interior support because the strength of your OL is inside.

I dont have decastro....I wanted him but he was taken...

foster is great at pass protection....the reason he is not considered an elite guard is his run blocking

but he has been really improving at that over last year and its not a weakness anymore

and Mack is one of my favorite centers

so I added leach because I wanted my run game down the middle to be solid and leach will overcome any weakness foster might still have with the run game....and my third guard will be one of two people(hopefully) that will also help running up the middle

  2. Should have phrased that better..did not mean it as a shot at your OL, I actually like it and have said several times before it fits your team and Big Ben...just meant Vonta was a good pick in terms of a punishing style road grader that was needed and can help an OL look really good in the run game

oh I know you weren't knocking my O-line I was just using your post to comment on my O-line......I wanted a fullback that can help my run game....because if I can get a push up the middle it will stop defenses from exploiting my tackles to the outside....and my two pieces in the middle are solid and I have my eyes on a third that I like........ben will exploit outside rushers if he has a strong middle.......that's his weakness down the middle pass rushers and im solid in the middle

  3. Great pick SteelersProphet will help with your OL setup

my tackles could play great this year......a lot of people have high hopes for them at their new positions

my center is fantastic and my one guard so far is a great pass protector........and now I have leach who can help block if my tackles are getting beat......this setup is one of the best lines ben has ever had......also if the other teams blitz on the outside ben will just step inside and throw to one of my many reliable receivers it will be hard to cover all of them while blitzing...and eventually the other team will stop trying

  4.

    To answer your question

    Offense

QB  Ben Roethlisberger(wrong side of 30. Injury prone)-top ten QB

RB  Frank Gore(over 30)-producing best numbers of career

    FB

WR Santonio Holmes(Coming off of ACL)-ok but he still has good chemistry with ben and his career isn't over

WR Anquan Boldin(Over 30. Has one year left)-more than one year left as a strict possession guy

WR DeSean Jackson(Headcase, gets injured a lot)-he is still a dynamic playmaker, and as my slot guy he will be a headache for the defense

    TE  Jimmy Graham(Great pick)

LT  Jonathan Martin(unproven)-true but I like him

LG  Ramon Foster(liability in the run game)-not as much as you would think and he is a great pass protector

    C    Alex Mack(Great pick)

    RG

RT  J'Marcus Webb(Decent pick)-on the right side he could actually turn into a great tackle...but its a risk

    Defense

    RE

    NT B.J. Raji(Good pick)

LE Cameron Heyward(Unproven)-no not unproven unknown

ROLB Jarvis Jones(Rookie. TBD)-true but I think he is a star

    MLB Lawrence Timmons(Great pick)

MLB Daryl Washington(Headcase)-true but great player

    LOLB

    CB Nnamdi Asomugha(Old)-not too old

    CB

FS Ryan Clark(Old)-still has a year or two

SS Troy Polamalu(Old)-not that old hes only 32..and he is healthy and ready to prove all his doubters wrong this year

    Special Teams

Your team is going to be killed in the passing game.

The front 7 is actually pretty good. But your DBs are OLD.

The oline is horrible, and even with a great RB and QB, if the oline can't protect, you won't win games

    I posted in your post

  5. I'd view a big negative for your team is a bunch of your players are hit or miss players or players with question marks

on my o-line you mean....if your including holmes he will be fine reunited with ben....my WR'S are a team none of them are perfect but they are good at what they do...and together they can do what any perfect WR can do

the only question on my offense is my line....but they are good enough....I think webb and martin will be much improved this year

and my defense has one rookie which I don't think is a question mark(but some might) and troy who people think doesn't have it anymore but they are wrong...and clark is old but im not the only one with one or two year rentals in certain spots

  6. 27. SteelersProphet - Great QB, but awful OL. Good weapons. Old D, no pass-rush..

how is my D old I only have three over 30....my 5 on my front seven are all young

and I have no pass rush.......my three linebackers are all great(Jarvis will be a star) my NT eats up blockers and heyward is a force up the middle...I have a great up the middle pass rush developing....and my OL isn't awful......but you know we disagree there

also I would put my team ahead of a lot of the teams you have ranked ahead of me

    -2

  7. So I was bored and made a Power Rankings even though we are only 18 rds in. I will keep updating it as picks come in and post it at the end.

Things I looked at: QB, OL, Offensive weapons, Front 7 (weighted towards pass rush), Secondary, and overall Age/future expectations.

A few notes: A lot of teams are tough to differentiate. I would say there are a few teams that stand out as superior, but most teams from around #8 - #25 are all fairly strong. Each team has some weaknesses. I probably weighted slightly towards teams that are more well balanced without glaring holes but of course it's not too late for those holes to be filled.

    uh oh im in trouble...lol

we all know how you feel about my team......

  8. 2008 you also had an elite defense. You didnt win a SB solely because of Roethlisberger.

of course not our defense was great.....but it wasn't in that superbowl...it got torched by warner....ben and holmes(reunited on my team by the way) took that defense apart

edit....also the point is his offense operated with a terrible line

  9. You are incorrect here. The offensive line you have assembled here is possibly the worst in this draft. Is it worse than what he had in the past? That's hard to say definitively, but it certainly isnt much better. That was also Roethlisberger 5 years ago. He has taken a beating since then and cant stay healthy when not protected. I thought you of all people should recognize that if you want Ben to be healthy and successful, you cant let him get beat up.

I think you dont remember how bad our line was in 2008.........because if you did theres no way you would say that mine is worse

also I completely disagree my line is the worst in the draft.....but as usual me and you have polar opposite opinions so this is no surprise

    agree to disagree

  10. I like the weapons you got as well steelersprophet . I'm feeling mine too haha

Cutler - one of the best arms finally has time to throw

Steven Jackson - still got some gas in tank. Still plan on adding a change of pace back.

Bowe - finally has a good QB

Hankerson - still developing. Poor route runner and bad hands but I think he'll have a big year next year. Great size/athleticism, fast.

    Joe Thomas

    ?

    Peter Konz

    Justin Pugh

    Eric Winston

I like the triplets of Jackson, Bowe and Cutler....I think they are a great combo

  11. Of all QBs to have with that OL it is Big Ben..he seemingly does better with a pass rush and many teams (especially the ravens) do not even work upfield as they know he will burn them. Alot of his WRs are the "get the ball in their hands" type so Ben should not be holding it forever anyway--even though he will as that is what he does and makes him great. If I had drafted Bog Ben I would have done very similar knowing that is how he operates

thank you......I was thinking along those lines

  12. Poor Offensive line play absolutely does negate the fact that you have good weapons, they are far from amazing. Holmes hasnt been healthy for 2 seasons and Jackson and Boldin are both limited to varying degrees. You dont have a true #1 WR although Graham can be the #1 target. You assembled a team that appears to want to pass the ball, but your OL wont give your QB time to succeed.

but the point you seem to be avoiding is that ben HAS been successful with much worse......in addition to those horrible tackles he also had a terrible center.....remember Justin Hartwig.....he was horrible...and instead of a horrible center I have a fantastic one

and he won a superbowl....so my line wont stop ben from throwing to his weapons

  13. Martin was actually far worse on the left side, allowing 20 of his pressure in just 5 games. I can't think your offense will be very successful with those two as your bookends. That's just my opinion though.

if I had to choose between martin and webb or starks and colon I would choose webb and martin hands down.....starks had no footwork...sometimes he wouldn't move at all and the linebacker would run right around him.....and colon was a false start machine who sometimes would completely give up after the initial burst from the defense......and ben won a superbowl with that combo

it wont negate the fact that I have amazing weapons......would I prefer all top ten players filling every position sure but no one has that

  14. Jonathan Martin was one of the worst OTs in the NFL last year letting up 6 sacks, 4 hits, and a whopping 49 hurries. Webb is slightly better, but still in the bottom half of the league allowing 7 sacks, 5 hits, and another 30 hurries. That's over 100  combined pressures allowed by your OTs, and neither are very impressive run blockers either. I will stand by me previous statement.

they were both playing positions not as suited to them. martin on the right and webb on the left im playing them opposite.....also webb had a few early terrible games but improved as the year went on. and he is better than max starks who always seems to be bens tackle so bens used to mediocre tackle play...but I never said they were my strength they are not...but they are good enough to allow my offense to operate properly
